Irrigation channels have the potential to be used as power plants. Savonius water turbine can be developed because it has a simple construction and is suitable for low speed, according to the characteristics of the irrigation channel. The objectives of the research were to understand the influence of the installation of concentrator the performance of Savonius water turbine. Concentrator can steer the incoming water flow toward the turbine blades that generate positive moments, consequently, the generated power increases. Variations in the concentration ratios studied were 2: 1, 3: 1, and 4: 1. The results show that adding concentrators can increase torque, turbine power and power coefficient. The best performance of the Savonius water turbine showed is with the concentrator ratio of 3:1.

In line the population growth, technological developments and the increasing of vehicles, the necessary of fuel is increase. Therefore, the people try to find an alternative fuel that is ethanol as vehicle fuel. To increase the performance and efficiency to use of ethanol fuel in an engine is by varying the ignition timing.This research aimed to investigate the influence of ignition timing to torque, power and specific fuel consumption effective (SFCe) with 96% ethanol fuel. in an engine four stroke single cylinder 100 cc Honda Astrea Legenda. The ignition timing variation are 15˚, 20˚ and 25˚ before TDC and the engine speed are 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 6000 rpm.The results show that the engine has better performance when the engine running on the ignition timing is advanced. The highest torque at 20˚ ignition time before TDC 0.868 kgf.m at 6000 rpm, the highest effective power at 20˚ ignition time before TDC of 7.272 ps at 6000 rpm, and the lowest SFCe at 20˚ ignition time before TDC is 0, 08 kg / PS.hour at 6000 rpm.

Reducing fuel consumption and improving fuel quality in motorcycle engines are very important in order to make the exhaust gas emission from the engine becomes more environmentally friendly. In this study, a magnetic field is attached to the fuel line so that the fuel is affected by the magnetic field. The magnetic field is obtained from electromagnetic magnets and permanent magnets. Fuel consumption is tested on a motorcycle engine that it uses a carburetor system and on an engine that uses a fuel injection system. The exhaust emissions observed were CO and HC by using exhaust gas analyzer. The results showed that the use of a magnetic field mounted on the fuel line can reduce the fuel consumption of a motorcycle engine, using either a carburetor system or a fuel injection system by an average of 18%. The use of magnetic fields also shows a very good effect in reducing exhaust gas emissions from motorcycle engines. The length of the magnet attached to the fuel line, 80mm provides a reduction in exhaust gas emissions of CO by 80% - 90% and HC by 60% - 77%. The percentage reduction in exhause gas emission is better than the other length of magnets.

Alcohol is an renewable alternative fuel produced from plants material. Plants usually contains essence such as : cassava, yam, corn, and sago palm essence. Processing for producing alcohol begin from hydrolysis process, that is essence converts to glucose then fermentation process to converting glucose to ethanol and CO2. After fermentation process ends, we continue to destilation process to decomposing alcohol based on its boiling point.This research aims to know design of alcohol stove design by variating its jet hole quantity and inner pipe diameters. Duration of heating, heat dropped, fuel consumption, and alcohol-stove efficiency are attentioned variables in this research. Combustion process of alcohol-stove begin with entering fuel to fuel tube then firing up the stove by striking fire on weep hole in inner pipe, combustion will increasing stove temperature and steam the alcohol. The steam will turn out through the jet hole so the stove flame is stable.This research result shows have been showing the stove most optimum showed by alcohol stove with 1 ½ inch inner pipe diameter variation with most jet hole is 8 holes, because the efficience at variation of this stove is high and the burning time it quick also. The greatest quantity of fuel consumption with variety of jet hole 16 amount with 1 ½ inch diameter that is 0.1061 ml/second. Whereas the bigest stove efficiency contained in stove with inner pipe diameter variety 1 ¼ inch with amount of jet hole 8 that is 48,33%.

Our life is completely dependent on a reliable and adequate supply of energy. In other to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, the use of animal dung in producing a renewable alternative source of energy has been proved using cow dung. Concerns over the environment and the rising costs for energy and waste water treatment have caused a resurgence of interest in anaerobic treatment and subsequent use of the biogas produced during this treatment of organic wastes as fuel. Biogas from manure wastes has become a potential renewable energy source for both domestic and commercial usage especially in West Nusa Tenggara. This study aims to investagate the quality and quantity of biogas produced from animal dung. The Cows, buffaloes and horses dung were used in this research using anaerobic biotank proses. The animal dungs were digested in ambient temperature and the water composition of degester was also analysed. The result shows that total volume of biogas produced by horse dung is 577.735 liters, and then cow dung is 373.839 liters, and the smallest production generated by buffalo dung which is 352.975 liters. Moreover, biogas from horse dungs generated the highest power of combustion, followed by cow dung, and buffalo dung, 732,425 watt, 556,521 watt 539,759 watt resfectively.

Human dependence on fossil fuels cause the reserves of energy resources is increasingly reduced. To overcome these problems is urgently needed alternative fuels which are cheap and readily available, one alternative fuel is biogas. However, the use of biogas not yet maximized because of low heating value of the biogas produced from the process without purification. Premium fueled vehicle proved to be turned on using biogas. Tests conducted on the variation of the engine rotation of 1500, 2500, 3500, and 4500 rpm and variations of biogas that has been purified using the paste pumice stone with a variation of the flow rate of purification of 2 liters / minute, 6 liter / minute, and 10 liters / minute. In this test should be able to get the best performance in terms of fineness engine rotation (force braking and fuel consumption). From the test results with the variation of rotation and flow rate variations purification of biogas obtained performance of the motor fuel of the best on rotation 4500 rpm with a flow rate of fuel biogas purification of 2 liters / minute produces a torque value of 6.98 Nm and an effective power of 3288.09 Watt while the value SFCE by 0.33 Liter / Jam.Watt. This proves that, biogas purification using paste pumice stone is able to improve quality of biogas.

Long-term aim of this research is to obtain a biogas what the renewable natural gas quality and can be used to fuel an electric generator to support the availability of electricity in the region of small islands. Specific targets to be achieved is to determine whether the binding of H2S in biogas can raise engine peformance of the machine, information technology and the active materials so comprehensive to absorb hydrogen sulfide gas as materials of the textbook writing and articles for national journals. This research will be conducted a biogas testing in the engine performance, seen from the engine rotation (1500, 2500, 3500 and 4500 rpm) of the electric power generated and subtlety spin machine (braking force, fuel consumption) in both the before purified biogas and biogas has been purified. Results of the research that has been conducted in both the before purified biogas and biogas has been purified on peformance engine that does not change significantly for the better performance of the engine torque, effective power and fuel consumption (biogas) to treat a wide variety. Effect of reduction of H2S contained in the biogas no significant effect on engine performance but are more inclined towards corrosive metal material. Clean water is a requirements of very important human life. Indonesia is a maritime country that has many islands surrounded by ocean, had a decreased clean water problem. One of the method to be used for obtain clean water is sea water distillation process. One of the most important tools is absorber distillation. occurs heat transfer from the absorber to the sea water causing, rising sea temperatures cause sea water to evaporate. The rising temperature of the sea water increases the amount of evaporation that occurs. The more the amount of evaporation generated will increase the number of fresh water produced. Increased seawater temperatures by increasing the temperature absorber, so it needs to be analyzed shape of the absorber which one can be produce more clean water than the others, a conclusion of the study indicated that solar distillation plat shape with a huge wave absorber produces more clean water than the others , the average amount of water that is more of 908 ml, compared with a small wave absorber plate only produce 764.4 ml average a day and a flat plate absorber only produce 599 ml average a day, it is not independent of heat absorption by absorber, solar distillation plat shape with a huge wave absorber absorbs more heat than the other two absorber plates, this has resulted in solar distillation shape with a huge wave absorber plate very well produce more water than the otehrs.
