Abstract

The increasing number of coffee shops in the East Surabaya area, particularly Merr Street or Ir. H. Soekarno Street has created intense competition and a dynamic market environment. This study aims to analyze the impact of Price (X1) and Location (X2) on Purchasing Decisions (Y), moderated by the Decoy Effect (Z), among Starbucks Merr coffee consumers in Surabaya City. The research utilizes Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with WarpPLS 7.0 software. Data was gathered through a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents using a non-probability sampling technique, specifically accidental sampling. This study demonstrates that price and location significantly affect purchasing decisions at Starbucks Merr. Price accounts for a 30.4% impact, influenced by affordability and frequent promotions, while location has a more substantial effect, with a 56% influence due to its accessibility and strategic positioning. The decoy effect negatively moderates the price-to-purchase relationship, making consumers more inclined to select higher-priced products. However, the decoy effect does not significantly impact the location-purchase relationship, as consumers prioritize convenience and service quality over pricing strategies. These findings underscore the vital role of both pricing and location in Starbucks Merr's marketing strategy.

Abstract

The agricultural sector, especially coffee cultivation, faces major challenges in managing pests and diseases in a sustainable manner. This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on the behavioral awareness of coffee farmers in East Java. Using a quasi-experimental approach and mixed methods, this study involved four farmer groups: Sumber Urip, Mulyo Jaya, Suka Maju, and Kebun Jeruk Sukses. The results showed that the application of IPM significantly increased farmers knowledge and skills, and influenced their awareness of environmentally friendly agricultural practices. The convergent validity test showed that all indicators had significant loading factors, with R² values ranging from 15.1% to 52.1%, which showed that the variation in farmers behavioral awareness could be explained by the implementation of IPM. Supporting factors such as resource availability, farmer awareness, and community support contribute positively, while lack of prior knowledge and limited access are obstacles. Recommendations to improve the effectiveness of IPM implementation include the development of relevant training materials, increased farmer involvement, and stakeholder support. With a comprehensive approach, it is hoped that coffee farmers can become more aware and implement sustainable agricultural practices, supporting the sustainability of the agricultural sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze raw material inventory control using the Material Requirements Planning method as raw material inventory control and to forecast inventory in 2024. The data analysis method is qualitative quantitative descriptive analysis. This analysis was carried out at CV Kopi Citarasa Persada. Efficiency data processing uses Minitab 21 and Excel. The problem in this study is related to frequent running out of raw materials due to late ordering by the company. The results of the study show that the availability of raw materials for coffee beans, packaging and stickers has a Lead Time of 4 days with the application of the Lot Sizing method, Part Period Balancing technique and the Wagner Within Algorithm which are the most efficient in obtaining minimum ordering costs in this study. Robusta ground coffee demand data for a year in 2023 produces forecast data for January and February 2024 by comparing the Moving Average and Single Exponential Smoothing techniques. The comparison results show that the Moving Average technique is suitable for forecasting raw material inventory because it has a smaller MAD value, the smaller the forecast value obtained, the more accurate it is in determining the size of the data as it was originally.   Keywords: Forecasting, Lot Sizing, Material Requirements Planning.
