Abstract

In this research, a sterilization UVC robot will be designed and implemented using wireless communication. The robot can be controlled using a platform that can move the robot and is assisted by a camera to see the condition of the environment. ESP32-CAM is used to control robot via wireless communication and video assisted. The robot has two UVC lamps installed above to form a 360-degree light coverage area. The camera is at the front and is flanked by two lights to add lighting to get good video results. External antennas are used to increase the wireless communication range. The measurement results vis Wireshark obtained a delay value of 347 ms with a throughput of 358 kb/s. This value is included in the moderate category for data communication classification.

Abstract

Sebagian Masyarakat di Kelurahan Aie Pacah Kecamatan Koto Tangah Kota Padang berada diperlintasan Saluran Udara Tegangan Tinggi (SUTT). Adanya SUTT ini menimbulkan keresahan dikalangan masyarakat disekitarnya. Keresahan ini timbul karena masyarakat pada umumnya tidak mengerti tentang pengaruh yang ditimbulkan oleh medan listrik dan medan magnet. Oleh karena itu, melihat kondisi tersebut, maka kami mengadakan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat tentang dampak medan listrik dan medan magnet disekitar perlintasan SUTT. Kegiatan ini memberikan informasi tentang bagaimana dampak yang ditimbulkan dari medan magnet dan medan listrik di sekitar jalur SUTT, agar masyarakat mengerti cara menanggulanginya dengan baik. kegiatan ini berbentuk sosialisasi berupa ceramah yang meliputi presentasi hasil-hasil penelitian serta pemaparan peraturan-peraturan pemerintah berhubungan dengan batas batas aman untuk masyarakat.  Evaluasi dilakukan dengan cara diskusi tentang dampak yang ditimbulkan dari medan magnet dan medan listrik serta cara menanggulanginya. Hasil dari diskusi ini memberikan rasa aman dan kepuasan kepada masyarakat disana, dengan tanpa tekanan faktor phisikis dari dampak listrik tegangan tinggi.

Abstract

Methyl ester is considered one of the alternative substitutes to mineral oil as an insulating liquid. This study investigates the dissolved gas analysis (DGA) of the methyl ester derived from palm oil, under low energy discharge faults. The aims are to understand the gas composition and evaluate the applicability of the well-established fault interpretation methods for mineral oil to the methyl ester. Experimental procedures were conducted based on the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. It involved simulating electrical breakdowns in laboratory conditions as per IEC-156 standard and analyzing gas samples using gas chromatography based on IEC-567. Results show that methyl ester oils produce similar types of gases as mineral oils but at higher concentrations. The interpretation of DGA results using fault identification methods such as Duval Triangle, Duval Pentagon, and IEC ratio indicates an overestimation of fault severity in methyl ester oils, and categorizing the faults as high energy discharge. However, the key gas method correctly identifies the discharge in both methyl ester and mineral oils. These findings suggest the need for adjustments in existing DGA methods to account for the higher gas concentrations in methyl ester oils, for effective condition monitoring and maintenance of transformers if it was filled with methyl ester oil.

Abstract

Pemerataan pembangunan daerah perlu mendapatkan perhatian serius dari berbagai pihak, termasuk akademisi seperti dosen, guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat secara menyeluruh. Salah satu aspek penting dalam pembangunan daerah adalah tersedianya sarana ibadah yang layak, aman, dan nyaman bagi masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendukung pemerataan pembangunan daerah, dengan fokus pada peningkatan kenyamanan masyarakat dalam beribadah melalui penyediaan instalasi listrik yang aman dan sesuai standar di mushalla. Proses perancangan dan implementasi instalasi listrik dilaksanakan dengan mematuhi standar PUIL serta menggunakan komponen yang telah memenuhi standar SNI. Penggunaan instalasi listrik yang tidak aman berpotensi membahayakan keselamatan pengguna maupun lingkungan sekitar, sehingga penerapan standar keamanan menjadi prioritas utama dalam kegiatan ini. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil mewujudkan instalasi listrik yang sesuai standar dan aman pada mushalla yang menjadi sasaran. Keberhasilan kegiatan diukur melalui survei kepuasan pengguna dengan hasil yang menggembirakan, yaitu sebanyak 61,6% responden menyatakan sangat puas, 28,6% menyatakan puas, 9% menyatakan kurang puas, dan hanya 0,8% yang menyatakan tidak puas. Dengan demikian, sebanyak 90,2% responden menyatakan puas dan sangat puas terhadap hasil kegiatan ini, yang menunjukkan keberhasilan signifikan dalam menciptakan lingkungan beribadah yang lebih nyaman, aman, dan sesuai dengan harapan masyarakat.

Abstract

Pada kanal komunikasi, sinyal informasi yang dikirimkan akan selalu mengalami gangguan karena adanya derau yang menyebabkan terjadinya kesalahan pendeteksian sinyal sehingga terjadi perubahan bit atau simbol pada sisi penerima. Hal ini menyebabkan konstelasi sinyal di sisi penerima tidak sama dengan konstelasi sinyal di sisi pengirim. Pada penelitian ini diteliti pengaruh derau AWGN pada sinyal yang dikirim. Untuk itu akan dibuat suatu pemodelan, simulasi dan analisis untuk mengamati pengaruh derau AWGN terhadap unjuk kerja sistem modulasi 16 QAM. Unjuk kerja tersebut dapat diketahui dari nilai Bit Error Rate (BER). Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya derau mempengaruhi unjuk kerja dari sistem komunikasi.

Abstract

Community activities aim to design and implement an automatic etching machine using a microcontroller and servo motor. The microcontroller acts as the control unit, regulating the movement of the servo motor to ensure the etching process runs with maximum efficiency. The method used in this activity is divided into several structured stages. The first stage is design, where the device is designed using a microcontroller to control the servo motor responsible for moving the PCB undergoing the etching process. The second stage is implementation, where the components to be used include the microcontroller, servo motor, LCD, buttons, and etching container. The final stage is evaluation, where the created device is assessed based on the suitability of the motor movements produced according to the main objective, which is to produce tracks as desired by the operator. The results of implementing this automatic etching machine activity are expected to provide several key benefits. Firstly, the machine can reduce the time required to complete the PCB etching process, thereby increasing productivity in PCB printing services. Additionally, by reducing human involvement in the monotonous physical process, this machine helps avoid human errors and thus can improve the quality of the products produced. In conclusion, it is hoped that the PCB printing service industry can take a step forward in adopting automation technology that can enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Abstract

Oyster mushroom cultivation is very popular among rural and urban communities, both on a small, medium and industrial scale. Oyster mushroom cultivation requires controlling temperature and humidity in mushroom kumbung to get optimal mushroom body growth. In the fruiting body formation phase requires a temperature between 27⁰C-29⁰C with humidity between 70%RH-90%RH. Along with the rapid development of technology, currently monitoring and controlling temperature and humidity can be done automatically remotely using the NodeMCU ESP8266 based on the Internet of Things. Measurement of temperature and humidity using the DHT22 sensor. The acquisition of measurement data is sent to the ANTARES platform using an internet-connected ESP8266. Monitoring temperature and humidity can be seen on ANTARES. Temperature and humidity control using a 12 Volt DC water pump. When the measurement results exceed the desired temperature range and the humidity is less than the desired range, the pump will turn on to stabilize the temperature and humidity again. From the results of testing the tool, it is obtained that the appropriate measurement results are obtained and the pump also turns on if the temperature and humidity are not as desired.

Abstract

Applying science and technology encourages innovation, increasing development productivity, independence and national competitiveness. Indonesia has a science and technology area named Science Techno Park (STP). Maturity measurement is an indicator of the level of an STP to apply science and technology for the welfare of society. There are three levels of maturity for STP, which are low (pratama), middle (madya), and high (utama). Before entering the best maturity level, STP must go through various kinds of preparation and fulfil the elements contained in it. The community service activity team at Universitas Andalas conducted a web seminar (webinar) to socialise the maturity assessment for STP Unand from the academic side. The webinar invited two experts on STP maturity measurement. One of the primary assessments is the number of products produced that are expected to come from the results of academic research. This activity can help STP Unand prepare to increase its maturity to a high level.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan salah satu pilar dalam Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi yang dilaksanakan oleh Kelompok Bidang Keahlian (KBK) Telekomunikasi, Teknik Elektro, Universitas Andalas, sebagai upaya memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan di masyarakat. Kegiatan ini memanfaatkan teknologi wireless router untuk meningkatkan konektivitas internet di Mushala Al-Mahira, Aie Pacah, Padang. Program ini bertujuan mendukung kegiatan keagamaan dan sosial, seperti kajian daring, pelatihan teknologi untuk anak-anak, dan komunikasi internal pengurus mushala. Artikel ini menguraikan tahapan pelaksanaan program yang meliputi survei awal, instalasi perangkat, pelatihan pengelolaan jaringan, hingga evaluasi dampak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa teknologi wireless router secara signifikan meningkatkan akses internet, mempermudah penyebaran informasi, dan mendorong produktivitas masyarakat sekitar mushala. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa teknologi dapat menjadi solusi praktis dan berkelanjutan dalam mendukung transformasi digital di komunitas lokal.
