Abstract

This study aimed to improve children’s social interactions through the application of the group work method in Group B of Gunung Bale State Kindergarten, Donggala. Conducted in July 2025, the research involved 15 children—7 boys and 8 girls—and employed a classroom action research design consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research process was divided into three phases: pre-action, Cycle I, and Cycle II, to observe the extent of change in children’s social interaction skills. The observed aspects included helping each other, cooperation, understanding conversations, and communication. The results revealed a significant improvement from the pre-action stage to Cycle II. The percentage of children categorized as “Very Well Developed” increased from 23.33% in Cycle I to 45.00% in Cycle II, while those in the “Not Yet Developed” category decreased from 35.00% to 3.33%. These findings demonstrate that the group work method effectively enhances children’s social interaction skills and serves as an alternative learning strategy in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of internal variables on the profitability of conventional banks in Indonesia, with the Bank Indonesia (BI) Rate as a moderating variable. Profitability is measured using Return on Assets (ROA), while internal factors include credit risk (Non-Performing Loans/NPL), operational inefficiency (BOPO), credit distribution (Loan to Deposit Ratio/LDR and Loan to Asset Ratio/LAR), and bank size (SIZE). The BI Rate is investigated as a potential moderator in the relationship between NPL and ROA. The research employs a quantitative explanatory approach using secondary panel data from seven conventional banks categorized as KBMI 3, listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2019–2023. Data were collected from official sources, including the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia, and the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). Multiple regression analysis, both with and without moderation, was conducted to assess the direct effects of internal variables on profitability and the moderating role of BI Rate. The results indicate that credit risk and operational inefficiency negatively affect bank profitability, whereas optimal credit distribution positively impacts ROA. Bank size shows a negative effect on profitability, suggesting that asset expansion without effective cost control and risk management can reduce performance. The BI Rate, however, does not significantly moderate the relationship between NPL and ROA, implying that internal factors, particularly credit risk management and operational efficiency, play a more dominant role in determining profitability for large-scale banks. Overall, this study highlights the importance of robust internal management practices over external monetary policy in maintaining sustainable profitability. The findings provide insights for bank management, investors, and regulators in enhancing financial performance while mitigating credit and operational risks.

Abstract

Return on Assets (ROA) is one indicator to measure the company's ability to generate profits from all assets used. This study aims to determine the effect of total commissioners, the proportion of independent commissioners, government ownership, foreign ownership, NPF, BOPO and Size on ROA simultaneously and partially. This study uses secondary data from Islamic Commercial Banks, from 2010-2020. The sample of this study is eleven Islamic commercial banks that have been operating from 2010 to 2020. This study uses SPSS version 26. The results show that the total commissioners, the proportion of independent commissioners, government ownership, foreign ownership, NPF, BOPO and Size have a significant effect on ROA. Independent commissioners, government ownership and foreign ownership partially have a negative and insignificant effect on ROA. NPF and BOPO partially significant negative effect on ROA. Total commissioners and Size partially have a positive and not significant effect on ROA.

Abstract

Abstract: The use of essential oils in the development of natural pharmaceutical and cosmetic products as antioxidants and antibacterial agents is currently gaining popularity. Research on combining Baeckea frutescens L. essential oil with key lime (Citrus x microcarpa Bunge) peel waste remains limited despite their individual antimicrobial efficacy and potential synergistic effects as natural preservatives. This study aims to evaluate the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of essential oils from sapu-sapu plants and key lime fruit waste combined in nanoemulsion preparations. The essential oils were obtained through steam distillation and formulated into two nanoemulsion preparations, F1 (EOB:EOC, 40:60) and F2 (EOB:EOC, 60:40). The characteristics of F1 showed a particle size of 7.06 nm with a PDI of 0.0067, while F2 had a size of 14.64 nm with a PDI of 0.1528, indicating that both formulations showed good stability and homogeneity. The antioxidant activity test results showed an IC₅₀ of 3.3305 ppm for F1 and 4.5234 ppm for F2, indicating that F1 has stronger antioxidant activity through the DPPH method. The results of antibacterial activity tests against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli, and Cutibacterium acnes showed that both formulas had moderate to strong activity against all test bacteria, with F1 providing a wider inhibition zone than F2. The essential oil of sapu-sapu and the essential oil derived from key lime fruit waste, when combined in a nanoemulsion formulation, demonstrate potential as natural antibacterial and antioxidant agents, offering promising candidates for sustainable bioactive ingredients in pharmaceutical and food applications.
