Abstract

In modern times, more and more women's roles and emancipation have emerged in almost all fields. The role of these women is even seen in several cultures and beliefs in the world, one of which is the Miao New Year Festival in China. The participation of Miao tribal women in the annual festival became a source of inspiration for designing a ready-to-wear collection entitled MINZU. The MINZU collection packs a symbol of Miao belief in a modern form so that it can be accepted and used by urban residents in big cities. The MINZU collection features a jacket silhouette typical of China combined with traditional Miao clothing to display the overall impression of ethnicity. The modern impression is obtained by applying several material manipulations, namely embroidery and beads. The objectives of this design are to: 1) Create a ready-to-wear women's clothing collection with the inspiration of the Miao New Year festival, 2) Apply material manipulation techniques in the form of embroidery and beads typical of the Miao tribe to the urban women's clothing collection. The method used is the PBL (Project Based Learning) method, which is the learning method that uses real projects through information search and data synthesis, material exploration, feasibility assessment, and design interpretation to produce final results.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The development of cloves cigarettes and their packaging can be called a manifestation of physical culture according to Koentjaraningrat's description that an object is a physical product and the activities, deeds, and works of all humans are concrete. In addition, the development of the type of cloves cigarettes and their packaging fulfills the requirements for the stipulation of an object/intangible as a cultural heritage in accordance with Law Number 11 Year 2010 Chapter III Article 5. Therefore, the author attempts to explain the common thread from the history of Haji Djamhari's pioneering cloves cigarettes to changes in Indonesia’s cigarettes packaging when it began to be marketed in a modern way by Nitisemito to its effect on packaging designs that exist and circulate in society today. Less recorded fact that the cigarettes industry existed and developed in 1870-1880 in Kudus, the historical development of cloves cigarettes and its packaging in Indonesia at that time, cigarettes industry declining due to the racial riots in 1918, and the emergence of the subscription system also influenced the philosophy of creating cigarette packaging in Indonesia. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the theory of design, packaging, and branding so that the changes in cigarette packaging that occur in Indonesia are caused by the influence of market leaders from each type that exists, the image element is no longer the main logo but is replaced by logotype and logofont elements on packaging.

Abstract

A national park is an area that is intended to preserve nature with the formation of native ecosystems using a zoning system. In addition to having a conservation function, national parks can be used for tourism purposes. Baluran National Park is one of the national parks in Indonesia. The name Baluran comes from Mount Baluran which is located in the Situbondo and Wongsorejo areas, Banyuwangi, East Java. Baluran National Park is considered less popular with tourists because of its location close to the islands of Bali and Lombok, making it less competitive. Baluran National Park has the potential as a tourist spot because it has a very wide savanna with a variety of wildlife, and its location is also close to the beach. Therefore, the design of promotional media is needed with the aim of introducing and being able to increase public interest in traveling to Baluran National Park through appropriate and interesting information media. The research method in this design is quantitative with observation and literature study. The results of this study were obtained in the form of design solutions in the form of promotional video designs and supporting media in the form of website advertising designs, web banners, billboards, and social media.
