Abstract

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) is one of the plants from the Malvacea. The secondary metabolite compounds with quite large composition flavonoid compound that is able to provide pharmacological activity to lower blood sugar. This study aimed to isolate, identify find out the results of the inhibition test on the alpha amylase enzyme one of enzyme that affects blood sugar levels. Herein, the extraction was initially carried out using the remaceration method of okra fruit powder using 80% ethanol followed by fractionation process using n-hexane, ether, and ethyl acetate. The marker was isolated using the preparative TLC method with a silica gel and n-butanol:acetic acid : water (4:1:5) as stationary and mobile phases. The isolates were a yellow powder with a yield of 0.18% and a melting point of 307-309.5oC. TLC Densitometry was used to determine the Rf value and the spectral form of the standard quercetin and isolates wich are found to be identical. The isolate showed that quercetin compounds had the inhibitory power of the amylase enzyme by 49.74% compared to acarbose 58.90%. IC values, by quercetin isolates were8,358/ml and acarbose 7,598mg/ml and statistically, the t-group showed no significant differences.

Abstract

: Matapencaharian penduduk Desa Meluntur mayoritas adalah petani tambak, awal musim hujan tambak diisi ikan, menjelang kemarau tambak ditanami padi. Kesulitan memperoleh pupuk menjadi kendala warga desa meluntur menjelang musim tebar ikan. Keadaan tersebut menginisiasi Pemerintah Desa Meluntur guna mengagendakan kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk cair untuk warganya dengan bekerja sama dengan tim pengabdi. Tujuan kegiatan salah satunya yaitu mengurangi ketergantungan pengunaan pupuk kimia sintetis. Sasaran kegiatan yaitu anggota kelompok petani tambak sebanyak 21 orang. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di Desa Meluntur Kecamatan Glagah Lamongan pada tanggal 22 Desember 2022, kegiatan pelatihan yaitu pengenalan pupuk organik, pengenalan bahan dan proses pembuatan pupuk organik. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan warga desa umumnya dan peserta pelatihan khususnya penggunaan pupuk pada tambak berbeda-beda dan rata-rata hanya berdasarkan omongan dari tetangga atau teman sesame petambak, padahal kondisi tanah tiap tambak berbeda-beda. Keluhan paling banyak dari peserta pelatihan adalah munculnya bau tidak sedap dari air tambak setelah musim panen padi. Adanya pelatihan pembuatan pupuk cair ini, membuat masyarakat terutama peserta pelatihan menjadi sangat antusias karena mendapatkan pengetahuan yang baru serta mudahnya proses pembuatan dan pengaplisiannya di tambak. Beberapa peserta mengusulkan kepada pemdes, tim pengabdi dan pihak PPL dari dinas perikanan yang hadir, tentang adanya tambak percontohan penggunaan pupuk organik cair tersebut agar warga melihat prakteknya secara langsung hasilnya.Most of the residents of Meluntur Village are pond farmers; at the beginning of the rainy season, the ponds are filled with fish, and before the dry season, the ponds are planted with rice. The difficulty of obtaining fertilizer is an obstacle for villagers to soften before the fish stocking season. This situation initiated the Meluntur Village Government to organize training activities for making liquid fertilizer for its residents in collaboration with the service team. One of the objectives of the activity is to reduce dependence on the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers. The target of the activity is 21 members of the pond farmer group. The training was held in Meluntur Village, Glagah Lamongan District, on December 22, 2022; training activities were an introduction to organic fertilizers, an introduction of ingredients and the process of making organic fertilizers. The service results showed that the knowledge of villagers in general and trainees, especially fertiliser use in ponds, was different and, on average, only based on a talk from neighbors or fellow farmers, even though each pond's soil conditions differed. The biggest complaint from the trainees was the appearance of an unpleasant smell from the pond water after the rice harvest season. This liquid fertilizer-making training makes the community enthusiastic, especially the training participants, because they get new knowledge and the easy process of making and applying it in ponds. Several participants proposed to the local government, the service team and the PPL from the fisheries service who were present about the existence of a pilot pond for the use of liquid organic fertilizer so that residents could see the practice firsthand the results.

Abstract

Carotenoids are important biological compounds in cancer prevention because theycan inhibit the formation of free radicals, which react directly with oxygen. This researchwas aimed to determine the effect of antimutagenic â-carotene on 7.12-dimetilbenz(a)antracene (DMBA)-induced mice. From the observation of the mortality rate during theresearch period, the DMBA group showed the highest rate of mortality compared to thecontrol group and the groups of â-carotene isolates. The incidence of tumors showed thedeclining trend in the groups of test animals that were given with the increasing dosesof β-caroten isolate, i.e. 1.82; 3.64 and 7.28 mg kg-1 BW. The result may be caused bythe increasingly high levels of â-carotene in the test solutions, resulting in the lowertissue damage and the inhibited growth of tumors in the lungs. Based on Kruskal-Wallisstatistical analysis conducted on lung histology observational data for ten samples ofeach treatment group, it was confi rmed that there were signifi cant differences betweentreatments, which mean that â-carotene isolates can inhibit cancer growth in lung andskin of DMBA-induced animals.Keywords: β-carotene isolate, antimutagenic, DMBA (7,12-dimetilbenz(a)antracene)

Abstract

Saat era pandemi seperti sekarang kita dituntut agar tetap melakukan aktifitas seperti lazimnya tetapi harus dengan mematuhi peraturan agar rantai penyebaran virus COVID-19 dapat diputus. Penanganan covid-19 segera dapat dicapai dengan ditaati protokol kesehatan oleh masyarakat yaitu memakai masker; mencuci tangan dengan sabun, menjaga jarak, menghindari kerumunan dan mengurangi mobilitas (5M), vaksinas dan 3T (Tes, Telusuri, Tindak Lanjut) serta pelaksanaan vaksinasi untuk semua lapisan masyarakat Indonesia. Dengan taat prokes maka mata rantai penyebaran COVID-19 dapat segera diputus dan dapat kembali lagi melakukan aktifitas tanpa harus khawatir akan paparan dan bahaya virus ini. Untuk mendukung program Pemerintah tersebut maka STIFAR Yayasan Pharmasi Semarang merasa terpanggil untuk ikut terlibat melakukan kampanye menegakkan PROKES kepada masyarakat Semarang pada kegiatan Car Free Day di Taman Indonesia Kaya.

Abstract

Depletion of the ozone layer and environmental pollution has a negative impact on the skin because these conditions make it easier for UV rays to damage and even cause skin cancer. One of the efforts made to reduce the harmful effects of UV rays can be overcome with quality cosmetic products using nanotechnology. This study aims to formulate a lipid nanoparticle gel with okra fruit extract as the active substance and the Zn nanoparticle gel with okra fruit extract as bioreduction. Lipid nanoparticles were prepared from lecithin phospholipids and okra fruit extract by heating at 600°C and sonification for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Zn nanoparticles were prepared by adding Zn acetate extract to okra fruit extract in a ratio of 1:9 and heating for 90 minutes. Zn nanoparticles of fruit extracts have a wavelength of 360-380. The average particle size of lipids was 140.734 ± 4.53nm, while the average particle size of Zn nanoparticles was 136.79 ± 6.41nm. The physical characteristics of the gel from lipid nanoparticles are as follows: viscosity of 4225 pcs; pH 7.53; spreadability of 4.54 cm and adhesion of 5.65 seconds while the viscosity of the Zn nanoparticle gel was 4123 pcs; pH 7.24; spreading the power of 4.11 cm and adhesion power of 5.42 seconds. Lipid nanoparticle gel preparation of okra fruit extract has an SPF value of 20.1076, erythema is 0.2172% and percent pigmentation is 0.2295%, while Zn nanoparticle gel has an SPF value of 21.7865, erythema is 0.2173% and percent pigmentation is 0,2105%.

Abstract

Sinar matahari memberi akibat tidak baik terhadap kulit seperti penuaan dini, spot hitam di kulit dan yang paling parah adalah mengakibatkan kanker kulit. Fraksi etil asetat buah okra memiliki kandungan senyawa fenolik total sebesar 252,0116 mgQA/gr dan senyawa flavonoid total sebesar 127,6178 mg QE/gr. Penelitian ini bertujuan memformulasi dan menguji fraksi etil asetat yang kaya dengan kandungan senyawa fenolik terutama senyawa flavonoid. Fraksi etil asetat diformulasi dalam 3 konsentrasi dalam satu formula lotion. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etil asetat dan lotion fraksi etil asetat dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sediaan tabir surya dengan nilai SPF lotion F1 sebesar 0.6702; F2 sebesar 11,3921; F3 sebesar 16.1035 dan F4 sebesar 20.0952. Persen eritema lotion F1 sebesar 0,9371; F2 sebesar 0,5225; F3 sebesar 0,4418 dan F4 sebesar 0,2193. Persen pigmentasi lotion F1 sebesar 0.9261; F2 sebesar 0,5131; F3 sebesar 0,4231 dan F4 sebesar 0,2196. Untuk evaluasi karakteristik fisik lotion menunjukkan bahwa lotion yang diperoleh t, memiliki warna hijau, homogen; pH lotion 8,02-6,98; viskositas lotion 3545-4053 cps, daya lekat rata-rata 3,23-3,57 detik; daya sebar rata-rata 7,33-7,02 dan termasuk tipe minyak dalam air dan lotion stabil tidak terjadi pemisahan fase pada uji 6 siklus dengan penyimpanan dipercepat.

Abstract

Banyumeneng Village in Mranggen, Demak, became the target of community service. Many mothers and youths in this village only participate in social and religious activities, but they have not tried to increase their family income. The objective of this community service program is to increase the community's knowledge on how to make high-quality instant herbal powder that can be consumed by themselves or sold. The focus of this activity is to provide training on making instant herbal powder preparations using plant raw materials in the surrounding environment. The methods used are socialization, education, training and evaluation. This activity makes the community better understand how the surrounding plants can be used for health products. The results of the interview after the service of making instant herbal drinks, almost all participants understood the material provided with a percentage of understanding close to 97%. After the training, the community can make herbal powder independently, as shown by their enthusiasm for the material

Abstract

Masalah gizi pada balita yang belum mampu teratasi secara optimal atau menghilangkan angka gizi kurang pada balita, salah satu cara yang dapat ditempuh adalah melalui Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) bagi balita di Posyandu. Pemberian makanan tambahan di posyandu sebagian besar masih dianggap lemah. Suplai budjet posyandu untuk pengadaan makanan tambahan terbatas. Untuk itu perlu diciptakan makanan bergizi yang lebih bervariasi yang diperoleh dari bahan makanan lokal, yaitu buah dan sayur. Pemberian makanan tambahan yang cukup kualitas dan kuantitasnya penting untuk pertumbuhan fisik dan perkembangan kecerdasana anak. Kelompok kader posyandu selalu aktif dan bertugas menyiapkan makanan tambahan untuk balita yang datang sekaligus memberikan contoh menu sehat untuk pengunjung posyandu. Namun, berdasarkan informasi dari koordinator kader, makanan yang disiapkan cenderung monoton tanpa variasi yang menarik dan tanpa memperhatikan perbedaan kebutuhan balita tersebut. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran akan pentingnya variasi menu untuk PMT. Metode yang dilaksanakan pada kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat ini adalah penyuluhan dan pemberian PMT bagi balita RW 18 RT 04, Kelurahan Sendangmulyo. Tembalang, Kota Semarang sebagai upaya meningkatkan kreativitas kader posyandu dan ibu-ibu dalam melakukan variasi yang menarik terhadap makanan tambahan untuk meningkatkan gizi kader balita. Abstract

Tanaman serai merupakan tanam tahunan yang juga dikenal dengan Cymbopogon citratus. Tanaman serai  memiliki  berbagai macam  zat  aktif  seperti  geraniol,  citronellal,  dan  citronellol  yang  dapat menimbulkan aroma, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pengusir nyamuk. Kurangya kesadaran masyarakat dalam memberantas nyamuk untuk mencegah penyakit demam berdarah maka dilakukan edukasi tentang manfaat serai dan memberikan penyuluhan mengenai cara pengolahan spray anti nyamuk dengan memanfaatkan tanaman serai. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu dengan memberi edukasi mengenai spray anti nyamuk serai serta memberikan informasi tentang manfaat dan mempraktekkan cara pembuatan spray anti nyamuk pada Warga Rumah Susun Bandungbondowoso Plamongansari, Kecamatan Pedurungan, Kota Semarang ,Jawa Tengah. Kegiatan pengabdian mendapatkan respon positif dan pelatihan ini dapat menambah pengetahuan warga rusun mengenai pembuatan spray anti nyamuk secara alami, dan jika pengetahuan tersebut dikembangkan dengan baik dapat memperoleh dan meningkatkan wawasan warga tentang penanganan demam berdarah serta pembuatan spray anti nyamuk. Abstract

Fresh cow’s milk has weaknesses, namely it is easily perishable and its shelf life tends to be short. Processing fresh cow’s milk into product is one of the efforts to extend the shelf life of cow’s milk. One of the products that can be made from fresh milk is soap. The ingredients used in making soap are quite simple and widely available in the market at relatively cheap prices. Rosemary can be used as an additive in manufacture of cow’s milk soap. The target of making envirometally friendly soap is directed at people who have dairy cows. The goal to be achieved is to increase the value of cow’s comodity and increase entrepreurship by producing and marketing enviromentally friendly soap and being able to solve the problem of relatively short milk shelf life. This service is divided into several stages. At this stage, a training process was carried out on making soap from fresh cow’s milk waste and marketing methods for the product. It is hoped that milk that can be consumed again can be processed into soap using active ingredients from rosemary, so that the soap produced can increase added value both economically and for the environment. The results of this community service is solid soap using raw materials from milk waste and rosmeray. This community service activity was received with great enthusiasm by the participants who took part in the training on how to make cow's milk soap. There is a significant difference (p<0.05) in the results of the pretest and posttest questionnaires, indicating an increase in understanding of the material presented in this community service activity. This activity has been successfully implemented.
