Abstract

One way to handle the COVID-19 pandemic is tracing related to close contacts of positive cases. This is to identify the place and time of people who have close contact with positive COVID-19 patients and inform those indicated as positive for COVID-19 to prevent further spread. Therefore, each country has released Contact Tracing Applications (CTAs) to support the tracing process. TraceTogether and PeduliLindungi applications are examples of embodiments of Contact Tracing Applications. This study aimed to compare the development of CTAs in Singapore and Indonesia to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. This research used a literature research method to manifest the development of CTAs in Singapore and Indonesia. His study focused on the differences in application development that have been implemented in the two countries: Singapore as a pioneer of CTAs with the TraceTogether application and Indonesia which Singapore inspired by designing the PeduliLindungi application. This research is expected to be considered in the development of better CTAs. This is one of the recovery steps for the two countries after the COVID-19 pandemic in approaching health through the application.

Abstract

Dental care services have the highest risk of transmitting the COVID-19. Many countries and health organizations published policies or procedures for dental care services implementation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study compared the dental care policies before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study narratively reviewed policies of dental care services before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. We searched for recommendations and guidelines on dental care policies by The Ministry of Health of Indonesia and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The study result showed that the dental care policy before the COVID-19 pandemic explained infection preventive action in dental care facilities. Dental care policy during the COVID-19 pandemic explained COVID-19 preventive efforts and changes in the dental procedure like the use of teledentistry (to assess the dental condition of patients and follow up patients), postponing of elective surgeries, restricting the number of patients, screening COVID-19 for all patients, and implement of COVID-19 health protocol. The most striking differences among dental care policies before and during the COVID-19 pandemic were the pre-visit screening aspect (the use of teledentistry to assess dental condition) and the screening aspect (ensuring patients didn't have COVID-19 symptoms)

Abstract

Since WHO declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic, COVID-19 management has become a problem for countries with limited resources and weak health systems. The purpose of this article is to describe the implementation of policies in Indonesia and Vietnam, in which both countries have limited resources in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. The present study is a narrative review which compares he COVID-19 policies in two countries. The study is conducted by searching relevant literature on Google Scholar with the keywords "Penerapan Kebijakan COVID-19 di Indonesia", "COVID-19 policy responses in Vietnam", "lesson from limited resource country to control COVID-19", and also scrutinizing the official website managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Ministry of Health. The inclusion criteria are open access papers published between December 2019 and March 2020 in the form of original articles and review articles. This study found the differences in policy implementation between Indonesia and Vietnam in terms of the number of policies, implementation time, scope, and the basis for making policy decisions. Unlike Indonesia, the implementation of policies carried out in Vietnam is more anticipatory, based on previous experience in dealing with the SARS epidemic in 2003. In dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, as a country with limited resources in the health system, it is very important to implement policies that are more preventive and anticipatory based on  past experience in dealing with pandemics.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: The policy of imposing restrictions on community activities during the Covid-19 pandemic is a challenge to the accessibility of health services. Therefore, we need the best solution for safe access to health services. Aims: This study aims to analyze telemedicine use in health facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic by looking at comparisons and similarities in use and reviewing the inhibiting and supporting factors for the success of telemedicine. Methods: The research method is a literature review that was obtained through the Scopus database and published in 2020-2021 in English. Cleaning of articles was carried out with the inclusion and exclusion criteria so that seven articles were reviewed. Results: The lack of multidisciplinary use, healthcare practitioners' inability to connect with patients, under-integrated systems, and lack of technological knowledge and capacity all hinder telemedicine adoption. Positive patient feedback, a well-supported telemedicine service system, and partnerships with specialists all help make telemedicine more effective. Conclusion: During a pandemic, the use of telemedicine in healthcare settings is extremely beneficial for healthcare providers and patients during healthcare consultations, and there are supporting aspects such as WHO recognition and simplicity of operation. However, obstacles remain, such as a lack of specialized knowledge and multidisciplinary technology.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an influence on patient safety and quality of care. A research undertaken in numerous countries found a deterioration in the quality of care during the pandemic. Leaders can improve patient safety in any circumstances, pandemic or not, by building a safety culture, reacting to patient and staff concerns, supporting safety activities, and tracking progress. Good leadership is essential to the success of patient safety programs and improving patient safety. Leaders must first establish strategic priorities and plans for culture and infrastructure that will aid in increasing patient safety. They must also actively inquire about patient safety situations and regularly examine patient safety data. Leaders must also collect data in order to foster a culture of patient safety. It is also critical to ensure that adequate infrastructure is available to support safety activities. Leaders have an important role in establishing the optimal methods for enhancing patient safety. Measures and improvement actions are rarely carried out in many nations; thus, leaders must ensure and encourage quality and safety development. Leadership commitment is the foundation for both pandemic and non-pandemic safety and quality improvement. Patient safety recommendations frameworks can help leaders improve patient safety in their organizations.
