Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and digital literacy on consumptive behavior with the use of digital payments as a mediating variable. The research was conducted among students of the Economic Education program from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 class. Method: This research uses a quantitative method with a causal associative research type. The data analysis technique in this study uses the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis method with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach in SmartPLS 4 software. Results:  The results show that financial literacy has a negative effect on consumptive behavior, digital literacy has a negative effect on consumptive behavior, financial literacy negatively affects the use of digital payments, and digital literacy positively affects the use of digital payments. Furthermore, the use of digital payments positively influences consumptive behavior. Financial literacy also negatively affects consumptive behavior through the use of digital payments, while digital literacy positively affects consumptive behavior through the use of digital payments. Novelty: This study simultaneous applies the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to analyze student’ consumptive behavior, with the use of digital payment as a mediating variable between financial literacy and digital literacy.

Abstract

Objective: The low quality of education in Indonesia ranks 12th out of 12 countries in Asia according to a survey by PERC, and East Java Province is still below the mandatory 9-year education standard based on data from BPS of 8.69 years in 2024. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and poverty levels on the average length of schooling in East Java Province during the period 2015–2024. Method: The method used in this study is multiple linear regression or Ordinary Least Square (OLS) analysis through SPSS to see the relationship between the two economic variables and the community's educational attainment. The data used is secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency, which covers regional educational development and economic conditions.  Results: The results show that GRDP and poverty levels simultaneously have a significant effect on average length of schooling, with an explanatory contribution of 76%. However, partially, both variables have a negative effect, indicating that economic growth is not yet evenly distributed and poverty remains an obstacle to improving education. This study is expected to provide input for local governments in formulating policies to improve the quality of education. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the analysis of the partial and simultaneous effects of two major economic factors on education indicators at the regional level, which has not been empirically studied much previously. Therefore, this study supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities.

Abstract

Objective: The ongoing transformation of education due to technological advances and artificial intelligence demands that prospective teachers possess change-sensitive skills and comprehensive career readiness. To support the implementation of SDGs, particularly goals 4 and 8 which include improving the quality of education as well as decent employment opportunities and economic growth. strengthening the competencies and job readiness of prospective teachers is becoming an increasingly important issue. This study seeks to examine the effect of AI mindset on the career readiness of economics education students who are preparing to become future economics teachers. Method: This study, using a PLS-SEM approach, also examines the role of experiential learning as a mediating variable in the relationship between AI mindset and career readiness. Results: This study found that an AI mindset had a positive and significant impact on career readiness, both directly and through enhanced experiential learning. These results suggest that combining an AI mindset with contextual learning experiences can strengthen students' readiness to face the demands of careers in the digital age. Novelty: Placement of experience-based learning as a mediating variable that connects AI mindset with career readiness of prospective economics teachers, especially in teacher education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of Average School Length, Minimum Wage, and Population Growth Rate on the Open Unemployment Rate in Bojonegoro Regency for the 2005–2024 period. The research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and related literature. Method: The analysis was performed through multiple linear regression using time series data with a series of classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation tests. Results: Show that some variables of population growth rate do not have a significant influence on the Open Unemployment Rate. Meanwhile, the variables of average length of school and minimum wage have a significant and positive influence on the Open Unemployment Rate, which means that these two variables have the potential to lower the open unemployment rate. At the same time, the three independent variables have been proven to have a significant influence on the Open Unemployment Rate. An Adjusted R-Squared (R²) value of 0.687 indicates that 68.7% variation in the Open Unemployment Rate can be explained by Average School Length, Minimum Wage, and Population Growth Rate. Novelty: These findings emphasize the importance of controlling population growth and expanding employment opportunities, especially for highly educated graduates who dominate open unemployment in Bojonegoro. The results of the research are expected to be the basis for local governments in formulating more targeted employment and education policies.

Abstract

High unemployment rates among college graduates and low interest in entrepreneurship among students are pressing issues in Indonesia's economic development. This study examines how digital literacy, entrepreneurial knowledge, and internal locus of control influence entrepreneurial interest among economics students at Surabaya State University. Using a quantitative approach and explanatory research design, this study involved 171 participants obtained through random sampling. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through the WarpPLS application. The results of the study demonstrate that entrepreneurial interest is positively and significantly impacted by all three variables. Among the three, entrepreneurial knowledge emerged as the dominant factor, followed by digital literacy and internal locus of control. Overall, this research model was able to explain 48% of the variation in entrepreneurial interest.
