Abstract

Cancer is still one of the leading causes of death in the world. Angiogenesis is the formation of new blood vessels, which plays a vital role in the growth of cancer cells. As a result, inhibition of proangiogenic factors such as vascular epidermal growth factor (VEGF) could be used as a cancer treatment strategy. Black garlic (BG) is processed fresh garlic (Allium sativum L.) for several days under controlled high temperature and humidity. The research aims to investigate the effect of Indonesian local BG on antiangiogenic activity through in vivo and in silico studies. The in vivo test was carried out by observing the formation of new blood vessels using the Chorio-Allantoic Membrane Assay (CAM). The in silico study was performed by docking analysis of BG bioactive compounds on the VEGF receptor (VEGFR). The results showed that ethanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction, and n-hexane fraction of BG inhibit new vessel blood formation, with n-hexane fraction having the highest efficacy. The molecular docking assay indicated some similarities in the amino acids involved in the interaction between the BG bioactive compounds and the native ligand in binding to VEGFR. This similarity may lead to interference with VEGFR resulting in angiogenesis inhibition. The study suggests that BG has the potential to be developed as an anticancer agent, which might be through the mechanism of inhibiting the angiogenesis process

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar totalfenol yang terdapat pada ekstrak sarang semut (Myrmecodiapendens Merr. L.M. Perry) dan ekstrak kencur (Kaempferiagalanga Linn.), aktivitas antioksidan dari kombinasi ekstraksarang semut dan kencur, kombinasi ekstrak sarang semut danekstrak kencur yang paling potensial digunakan sebagaiantioksidan, perbedaan yang signifikan pada aktivitasantioksidan dari kombinasi ekstrak sarang semut dan ekstrakkencur dengan perbandingan 3:0; 2:1; 1:1; 1:2; dan 0:3 padaberbagai variasi konsentrasi, serta adanya sinergisitas darikombinasi ekstrak.Kadar total fenol ditentukan dengan metode Foliin-Ciocalteu. Kombinasi ekstrak sarang semut dan ekstrak kencurdibuat dengan perbandingan 3:0; 2:1; 1:1; 1:2; dan 0:3 padaberbagai variasi konsentrasi yaitu 7,2; 3,6; 1,8; 0,9; dan 0,45mg/L. Uji aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode β-Carotene Bleaching. Parameter aktivitas antioksidan yaitu IC50(Inhibititon Concentration).Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kadar total fenolpada sarang semut dan kencur masing-masing adalah 5,675 mgGAE/g dan 5,882 mg GAE/g. Nilai IC50 dari kombinasi ekstraksarang semut dan ekstrak kencur dengan perbandingan 3:0; 2:1;1:1; 1:2; dan 0:3 masing-masing sebesar 5,7368; 7,4435;12,2688; 12,1569; dan 14,9127 mg/L. Aktivitas antioksidanpaling tinggi ditunjukkan pada kombinasi 2:1. Hasil analisisstatistik ANOVA menunjukan ada perbedaan yang signifikanaktivitas antioksidan kombinasi ekstrak sarang semut dengan22ekstrak kencur. Kombinasi ekstrak sarang semut dengan ekstrak kencur tidak menunjukan aksi sinergistis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian temulawak instanterhadap kadar kolesterol total tikus putih jantan galur wistar hiperkolesterolemia. Tiga puluhekor tikus yang telah diadaptasi dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kontrol normal,kontrol negatif (Na-CMC 5%), kontrol positif (simvastatin), dan tiga kelompok perlakuantemulawak instan dengan dosis berbeda (A: 50 mg/kgBB; B: 100 mg/kgBB; C: 200mg/kgBB). Penelitian berlangsung selama enam minggu: dua minggu pertama untuk diethiperkolesterol dan empat minggu terakhir untuk perlakuan masing-masing kelompok.Pengukuran kadar kolesterol total dilakukan dengan metode enzimatik CHOD-PAP. Datadianalisis menggunakan metode one way ANOVA dan independent-T test. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa pemberian temulawak instan mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol totalhewan uji setelah empat minggu perlakuan. Hewan uji yang telah mengalami diethiperkolesterol memiliki nilai kadar kolesterol yang berbeda secara signifikan setelah diberiperlakuan A dan B. Perlakuan A juga memberikan nilai kadar kolesterol yang berbeda secarasignifikan dengan kontrol positif.Kata kunci : temulawak instan, kolesterol total

Abstract

Temulawak diketahui memiliki sifat sebagai analgetik karena mengandung senyawa kurkumin.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek analgetik pemberian temulawak instan (Curcumaxanthoriza Roxb) pada mencit jantan serta untuk mengetahui dosis efektif instan dan seberapa efektifnyabila dibandingkan dengan asetosal. Penelitian ini menggunakan 25 ekor tikus jantan galur Swiss berumur2-3 bulan dengan berat 20-40 gram yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol negatifdiberi Na-CMC 1%, kelompok kontrol positif diberi asetosal dengan dosis 65 mg/KgBB, kelompokperlakuan pertama, kedua, dan ketiga berturut-tururt diberi temulawak instan 187,5 mg/KgBB; 375mg/KgBB; dan 750 mg/KgBB. Masing-masing kelompok dihitung frekuensi geliat dengan menggunakanmetode geliat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan temulawak instan dosis 750 mg/KgBB memberikan efekanalgetik pada mencit jantan. Dosis 750 mg/KgBB memberikan efek analgetik yang setara denganpemberian asetosal dalam penurunan jumlah gelia tmencit dan merupakan dosis efektif analgetik.Sedangkan harga IC50 yaitu 700 mg/KgBB.

Abstract

Literation level, one of them is scientific literation, is possible to be the measurement of a national improvement in education. Scientific literation could be specified by chemistry literation which has four aspects; one of them is the affective domain. In this study, the research focuses on the affective domain consisting of five phases; phase of receiving, phase of responding, phase of valuing, phase of organizing, and phase of characterizing by value set. The study aims to describe the students' chemistry attitude skills related to hydrocarbon materials by integrating local case of everyday life. The local case taken is the cooking oil used in the “penyetan” stall. The research is descriptive qualitative research. The participants of this research are whole students of grade eleventh in a senior high school in Magelang who had been taught hydrocarbon materials. The sample of this research is 70 students of grade eleventh. Questionary is used in the research as a data collection method. The instrument used is a form of a questionnaire, which was a close-ended questionnaire with four possible answers; strongly disagree, disagree, agree, and strongly agree. The result shows the skill of chemistry attitude of hydrocarbon material is 69.12857%. It means that the student's skill chemistry attitude is in a category of fair.

Abstract

The use of video podcasts has positively impacted student learning and engagement in various educational settings. In the specific case of learning about buffer solutions, video podcasts can effectively present key concepts and principles in an engaging and interactive way. This study aims to analyze students' attitudes toward the Video Podcast on Buffer Solution Material. The instrument used in this study is a closed-ended questionnaire consisting of 17 questions with six aspect categories: Overall, Explanation, Learning Features, Tempo, Interest, and Further Purpose. Then, 34 students from X MIPA at SMAN 1 Cangkringan were involved in this study. Total number of visitors for 5 days completed is 54 times. The students in this study had positive attitudes toward video podcast used to teach buffer solution concepts. It can be seen that the results of the student’s attitude towards podcast that overall students liked the podcast that was posted (80%). The result revealed that, in general, students liked the posted podcast, and the video helped them understand the buffer solution material. However, the effectiveness of video podcasts may depend on various factors, including the quality and relevance of the content, the integration of the podcasts into the overall teaching and learning process, and individual student needs and preferences. To ensure the best possible outcomes, teachers should carefully consider these factors when using video podcasts as a learning tool for buffer solution concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to make High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) items in the form of multiple-choice types of thermochemistry material for SMA/MA. The development of the HOTS question instrument was carried out to produce valid and reliable question items. The HOTS question instrument development method uses the Mc development model. Intire. Data results in development research can be carried out using rater validation and test results. Based on the results of the rater, it can be stated that the items are feasible to test by looking at the average value of validity, which is 0.727 so that they are included in the high category by looking at aspects, namely material, construction and language aspects. Based on the calculation of the results by producing 15 questions with thermochemical material for SMA/MA which are valid with the criteria for the average level of difficulty, namely (0.584), the criteria for discriminating power of the average questions, namely (0.576) with the criteria for the average validity test, namely (0.493) reliability criteria with an average of (0.686). The conclusion obtained from the data is that the HOTS question instrument can be declared suitable for student use.

Abstract

Thermochemistry has abstract and mathematical material which makes it difficult for students to understand this material. Students are required to discuss this material in depth so teaching materials are needed that support student learning flexibly. Thus, the research purpose is to develop a thermochemistry e-worksheet based on FGIL for high school students in phase F. The research type is R&D with the ADDIE model which is limited to the Development stage. Content validity was carried out with four validators and practicality was obtained from 36 phases F high school students. The research instruments were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The validity value is determined by Aiken's V test, if the V value is > 0.40 then an aspect is declared valid. The research findings demonstrated that the average assessment on the material aspect was 0.92 (very valid); the media aspect 0.96 (very valid); and the language aspect was 0.83 (very valid), while the average percentage of student responses was 96% (very practical). So, it can be said that the developed thermochemistry e-worksheet based on FGIL is valid and practical to use.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang akan dicarikan solusinya, yaitu mencari solusi terhadap penumpukkan limbah anorganik yang dihasilkan oleh kegiatan masyarakat, meningkatkan literasi masyarakat tentang pengolahan limbah anorganik, serta meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah limbah anorganik menjadi berbagai produk souvenir sehingga masalah lingkungan dan ekonomi dapat terselesaikan.  Tujuan kegiatan pelatihan pendampingan ini, yaitu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terkait cara pengolahan sampah anorganik serta untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah sampah anorganik menjadi berbagai produk souvenir yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Solusi yang ditawarkan yaitu melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan cara mengolah limbah anorganik menjadi berbagai produk souvenir seperti bros, tempat pensil, dompet, dan tas, menjadi media tanam, dan ecobrick. Target pelatihan yaitu para pemuda, warga masyarakat sekitar Taman Kyai Langgeng (TKL) Magelang, serta para pendidik di lingkungan kota Magelang. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, terutama dalam mengolah limbah anorganik, kesempatan kepada peserta dan mitra untuk membiasakan diri peka terhadap lingkungan, terutama pemisahan sampah/limbah anorganik dari rumah tangga atau lingkungan sekitar dan mampu mengolahnya menjadi produk bermanfaat dan bernilai ekonomi, serta mempraktekkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Sampah rumah tangga umumnya berupa sampah organik, demikian juga limbah/sampah pedagang lotis/rujak, jus, sayur dan buah, yang umumna hanya dibuang begitu saja, menumpuk dan menyebabkan aroma tidak sedap dan menyebabkan sarang lalat, yang berakibat terhadap kesehatan masyarakat sekitar. Untuk itu perlu diupayakan pengolahan limbah rumah tangga, penjual lotis/rujak, jus, sayur dan buah yang berupa limbah/sampah organik menjadi produk yang bermanfaat dan memiliki nilai ekonom. Pada kegiatan pendampingan guru-guru SMP se-Kabupaten Magelang dengan dana dari Program MF (Matching Fund) 2023 (Ristekdikti) telah dikenalkan produk ecoenzim sebagai produk fermentasi limbah/sampah organik, yang memiliki banyak manfaat, antara lain, pupuk, insektisida, dan memiliki khasiat obat (obat luar). Selama kegiatan pendampingan, peserta tidak hanya dikenalkan produk ecoenzim secara teori, tetapi langsung mempraktekkan pembuatan ecoenzim, dengan bahan-bahan dan peralatan yang telah disediakan. Peserta sangat menikmati dan sangat bersemangat selama pendampingan, secara umum peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat, penyampaian materi dapat diterima dnegan sangat baik, metoda yang digunakan sangat sesuai dan kegiatan ini sangat membantu membuka wawasan peserta pendampingan.
