Abstract

Tanaman porang termasuk famili araceae dan merupakan tanaman penghasil umbi yang mempunyai potensi dan prospek untuk dikembangkan di Indonesia. Umbi tanaman porang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pangan maupun industri, umbi menjadi bahan pangan masih diperlukan pengolahan. Sampai saat ini hasil tanaman porang sebagian besar di ekspor dalam bentuk umbi yang sudah dikeringkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi tanaman porang dan untuk mengetahui tingkat keragaman dan kekerabatan tanaman porang (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) yang dikembangkan petani di daerah Nganjuk, Madiun, dan Bojonegoro. Penelitian dilakukan mulai bulan Februari sampai dengan Juni 2015, di wilayah Provinsi Jawa Timur, Kabupaten Nganjuk, Madiun, dan Bojonegoro. Identifikasi morfologi tanaman porang pada Kabupaten Nganjuk, Madiun, dan Bojonegoro terdapat kesamaan pada bentuk bulbil, warna permukaan bulbil, tekstur permukaan bulbil, warna daging bulbil, bentuk umbi, tekstur permukaan umbi, warna daging umbi, bentuk daun, dan warna corak tangkai. Namun mempunyai perbedaan pada warna tangkai, bentuk corak tangkai, warna daun, dan warna permukaan umbi. Berdasarkan kemiripan morfologi tanaman porang pada kabupaten Nganjuk, Madiun, dan Bojonegoro tingkat kemiripan terendah 65,9% dan tingkat kemiripan tertinggi 100%, pada tingkat kemiripan 0,796 dapat dikelompokkan menjadi tiga kelompok. Kelompok pertama terdiri dari 6 tanaman yaitu NB1, NB2, NB3, MK2, MK3, MK1. Kelompok kedua terdiri dari 8 tanaman yaitu MP3, BB2, BB3, BJ2, MP1, BJ3, BB1. Pada kelompok ketiga terdiri dari 7 tanaman yaitu NS1, NS2, NS3, NT2, NT3, BJ1.

Abstract

Teknik kultur jaringan merupakan alternatif untuk memecahkan masalah rendahnya produktifitas tanaman nanas yang belum mampu memenuhi permintaan pasar. Teknologi ini telah banyak digunakan untuk pengadaan bibit seragam dan kualitasnya terjamin terutama pada berbagai tanaman hortikultura. Melalui kultur jaringan, tanaman dapat diperbanyak setiap waktu sesuai kebutuhan sehingga dapat dihasilkan bibit yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi BAP (Benzyl Amino Purin) yang baik untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan tunas planlet tanaman nanas yang diperbanyak melalui sub kultur jaringan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan pril hinggal Juni 2015. Penelitin dilaksanakan di Laboraturium Kultur Jaringan Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Kediri, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, Bahan planlet sub kultur yang digunakan adalah mata tunas dari mahkota nanas kultivar MD2. Peneletian ini terdiri dari satu faktor perlakuan penamabahan zat pengatur tumbuh BAP, (P0) kontrol: (P1) 0,5 ppm: (P2) 0,75 ppm: (P3) 1 ppm: (P4) 1,5 ppm: (P5) 2 ppm. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji F. Apabila uji F memberikan pengaruh yang nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT pada taraf 5%. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan pemberian BAP dengan konsentrasi 2 ppm berpengaruh nyata terhadap planlet tumbuh, awal munculnya tunas, awal munculnya daun, jumlah tunas, jumlah daun, dan tinggi planlet.

Abstract

Buah semangka yang sangat digemari oleh konsumen memiliki tekstur buah yang renyah, berair dan tidak berbiji. Semangka tanpa biji merupakan tanaman poliploidi. Tanaman poliploidi dapat dihasilkan menggunakan metode perlakuan dengan bahan kimia contohnya kolkisin. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi kolkisin terhadap perubahan fenotipik dan dan genotipik tanaman.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Dusun Areng Areng, Kelurahan Dadaprejo, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu pada bulan Maret - Agustus 2015. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan 12 perlakuan kombinasi dan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama ialah Varietas semangka : KS (V1), Inul (V2), Kuning (V3), dan Putih (V4). Faktor kedua ialah konsentrasi kolkisin : 0 ppm (K0), 500 ppm (K1), dan 1000 ppm (K2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh konsentrasi kolkisin 500 ppm dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman seperti panjang sulur, jumlah daun, dan waktu berbunga, sedangkan konsentrasi kolkisin 1000 ppm dapat meningkatkan bobot buah, dan kadar gula terlarut dibandingkan perlakuan 0 ppm. Pemberian kolkisin pada konsentrasi 500 ppm, dan 1000 ppm dapat memperlihatkan perubahan warna dasar kulit buah, warna garis, warna daging buah, bentuk biji, dan ukuran biji. Jumlah dan ukuran kromosom pada perlakuan kolkisin 500 ppm, dan 1000 ppm memiliki ukuran sel yang besar dan jumlah kromosom yang lebih banyak dan lebih kecil dibandingkan perlakuan 0 ppm.

Abstract

This study examines the limitations of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine facilities owned by the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan (JPTM FT UNIMED) which are obstacles for students in improving competence. From these problems, alternatives and solutions are needed, namely, utilizing the Nanjing Swansoft simulator software to improve the competence of CNC machining techniques. The lack of CNC machine facilities used in learning CNC machining engineering courses at JPTM FT UNIMED so research on this problem is still needed. This study aims to produce a video tutorial on how to operate a CNC machine using a Nanjing Swansoft simulator based on a YouTube channel. This study aims to produce a video tutorial on how to operate a CNC machine using a nanjing swansoft simulator based on a YouTube channel. The type of research used is research and development (Research and Development) from Borg and Gall. The feasibility of the product was carried out by validating media experts, material experts, learning design experts, small group tests, and field trials for students of JPTM FT UNIMED. Based on the results of product validation, the percentage of media expert assessment results is 92%, a material expert is 91%, and a learning design expert is 92%. Student responses in small group trials obtained a percentage of 92% and 93% in field trials. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the CNC Practice Video Tutorial Using the Nanjing Swansoft Simulator Based on the YouTube Channel that has been developed is feasible to be used as an alternative media for online learning for students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan.

Abstract

Media courses and learning are courses that describe the basic concepts of knowledge, theoretical understanding, and practice of effective and efficient learning media in the teaching and learning process. The e-module was developed using the Dick and Carey (2005) model which has 10 steps, namely: 1) the stage of the need and determining general goals, 2) conducting a learning analysis, 3) identifying behaviors and early learners, 4) writing specific learning objectives, 5) compiling learning outcome tools, 6) developing learning strategies, 7) selecting and developing learning materials, 8) implementing and implementing formative evaluations, 10 carrying out evaluations, and carrying out evaluations. Modules that have passed the development stage that needs to be evaluated. The purpose of this development research is to produce e-modules for media and information and communication technology courses for learning in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan. The results of the development, based on the results, that the validity of the e-module material obtained a score of 92 which was in the very good category, the validity of the learning design was 93.91, the media aspect was 90.00. Student assessment 85.77. In conclusion, the E-module for media and typewriting courses for learning is suitable for use in classroom or online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The implication of this research result is used as input for lecturers. Fixing yourself is related to the problems that have been carried out and student achievement that has been achieved by paying attention to appropriate learning methods to improve student learning achievement.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Google Classroom-based flipped classroom model for teaching machining theory during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan, which impedes learning activities. In accordance with the current situation and conditions of the covid-19 pandemic, an alternative and appropriate solution is required, namely the application of the flipped classroom model based on the google classroom to improve student learning outcomes in the machining theory course. The flipped classroom model can assist students in achieving learning objectives in a manner that is considered simple. Through the Flipped classroom, lecturers at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan can utilize online learning to facilitate students' access to and study of course materials. It is crucial to conduct research on this issue for this reason. This research has three objectives: (1) to examine the learning outcomes of students who use the flipped classroom learning model assisted by Google Classroom in the treatment class; (2) to examine the learning outcomes of students who use the conventional learning model in the comparison class; and (3) to determine the effect of using the flipped classroom learning model assisted by Google Classroom on the learning outcomes of machining theory. The type of research employed is quasi-experimental. Class A and B students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Medan State University, during the even semesters of 2020/21 comprised the population of this study. Researchers used cluster sampling (cluster random sampling) to select two classes from the population and determine the treatment class and comparison class. The data was derived from the results of observations and assessments of learning outcomes. In this study, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis were used to analyze the data. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis indicate that online learning methods result in higher average student learning outcomes (80,05) than traditional learning methods (64,45). On the basis of the results of an inferential statistical analysis, it is possible to conclude that the learning outcomes of machining theory attained by students using the flipped classroom learning model supported by Google Classroom are superior to or have a positive impact on the learning outcomes attained by students using conventional learning models.

Abstract

Corn productivity can be improved using hybrid varieties. Evaluation of inbreds and hybrids were required to obtain information of general combining ability and specific combining ability. The objective of this research was to find out inbred combining ability and hybrids heterosis from crosses of 10 inbreds (5 inbreds from PT. Agri Makmur Pertiwi and 5 introduced inbreds) based on yield and yield components character. Diallel mating design using method 2 model 1 of Griffing model and the testing were conducted from January to August 2012. The tests using a randomized block design with three replications. PWM-1 (PT. Agri Makmur Pertiwi group) and PWI-5 (introduced group) have GCA better than other inbreds on grain yield, ear length, ear diameter, number of seed rows, shelling percentage and 1,000 seeds weight. Hybrids PWM-5 x PWM-1, PWI-5 x PWM-1 and PWI-5 x PWM-5 have a positive SCA values and also inbred parent have a positive GCA value. Intercrosses of introduced group had the high heterosis for all characters. PWI-4 x PWI-2 had highest SCA and heterobeltiosis for ear diameter and 1,000 seeds weight, and for number of seed rows was PWI-5 x PWI-2.Keywords: diallel cross, heterobeltiosis

Abstract

The Community Service Program entitled “Improving Product Quality and Production Technology Training for Onion Crackers to Increase the Income of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency” was implemented to address issues related to low product quality and inefficient production processes among partner MSMEs. Field observations identified several problems, including manual production methods, inconsistent product quality, and limited packaging and marketing strategies. The implemented solutions included training in the use of simple production technologies such as dough mixer machines, automatic cutters, and controlled-temperature frying. In addition, participants received training in modern packaging and digital marketing through social media platforms. The program outcomes indicated increased production efficiency, more consistent product quality, and wider market reach. The partners showed strong enthusiasm in applying the introduced technologies, and the program successfully met its intended objectives.
