Abstract

This research aimed to obtain the level of participation of fishermen in the activities of the Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI) and to analyze the relationship between internal and external factors on the level of participation of fishermen in the activities of the Indonesian Fishermen Association. This research was conducted in Tanah Merah Village, Tanah Merah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province because there is an organization of the Indonesian Fishermen Association for the Tanah Merah Branch. The method used in this research is a survey method with 37 respondents. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and The Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that: (1) The level of participation of fishermen is in the medium category. (2) Spearman Rank correlation test shows that internal and external factors that are significantly related to the level of fisherman participation are income level, the intensity of counseling, benefits or functions, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and government involvement, while age, education level, number of family dependents, length of stay, and non-member activities are not significantly related.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characteristics of the mangrove forest ecosystem and analyze the direct benefits of the mangrove ecosystem in Rawa Mekar Jaya Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method, namely by conducting field observations and direct interviews with respondents, where the sampling technique found uses Non-Probability techniques or is determined by the researchers themselves or according to expert considerations with a total of 42 respondents. This shows that the tree-level mangrove community structure in the mangrove area, namely Rhizophora apiculata is the dominant tree species with a tree density of 30,617.2 trees/ha, then Rhizophora stylosa 9,629.63 trees/ha, Avicennia alba 8,333.33 trees/ha, and Ceriops tagal 777.78 trees/ha. Furthermore, a number of villagers from Rawa Mekar Jaya have made direct use of mangroves in the form of fish for Rp. 402,000,000/year, catching shrimp for around Rp. 21,600,000/year and taking honey for Rp. 28,800,000/year. The total economic gain of IDR 4.345,000,000/year shows that mangrove extension is very important for the people of Rawa Mekar Jaya village, both direct and indirect benefits.

Abstract

Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada tahun 2024 di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir dengan tujuan memberikan pemahaman tentang potensi dan manfaat nipah serta membentuk atau memperkuat kelompok usaha berbasis nipah. Pelaksanan dan metode yaitu pembukaan, pembahasan terkait pemanfaatan nipah, tanya jawab, feedback dan penutup. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir memiliki lahan rawa-rawa yang sangat sesuai untuk pengembangan tanaman nipah. Nipah sudah lama dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat setempat, terutama untuk bahan bangunan, anyaman, dan pangan. Namun, pemanfaatan nipah masih bersifat tradisional dan belum optimal. Kegiatan pendampingan masyarakat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam budidaya, pengolahan, dan juga pemasaran produk nipah. Pelatihan dan demonstrasi praktik diberikan terkait karakteristik dan ekologi nipah, bagian-bagian nipah yang dapat dimanfaatkan, potensi industri nipah, teknik budidaya dan pengelolaan nipah, tantangan dan kendala, aspek sosial-ekonomi, dan inovasi dan teknologi. Secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pendampingan masyarakat memberikan dampak positif dalam peningkatan pemanfaatan nipah secara optimal dan berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Provinsi Riau.

Abstract

This research was conducted in November 2019 in Padang Mutung Village, Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This research aimed to analyze total investment, receipts, profit, and the feasibility of an enlargement business of Catfish in Padang Mutung Village, Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The method used is a survey method, determining the respondents using the census method. The results showed the average investment on a small scale is IDR. 210,793,000, on a medium scale is IDR. 270,026,250, on a large scale is IDR. 772,559,000. The average receipts on a small scale is IDR. 213,000,000 with the profit is IDR. 46,820,925, on a medium scale is IDR. 270,000,000 with the profit is IDR. 62,248,187, on a large scale is IDR. 892,500,000 with the profit is IDR. 139,979,375. This catfish enlargement business is feasible to be continued, based on RCR>1, FRR>bank interest rates and PPC value ranging from 3.78 to 6.78.

Abstract

International trade is vital for Indonesia because export activities, the country's main component, can drive the economy. CV Hadi Wijaya Abadi exports fresh fish to Kualalinggi (Melaka). The types of fish exported are Chirocentrus drab, Scomberomorus commerson, Sphyraena barracuda, Epinephelus sp, and Arius thalassinus. This study aims to analyze the amount of investment and profit in fish exports at CV Hadi Wijaya Abadi and the feasibility of business in capturing fisheries exports at CV Hadi Wijaya Abadi. The method used is the survey method. The number of respondents who were used as the object of this study, as many as 11 people, was considered sufficient to obtain export analysis research data. The types of data collected include primary data and secondary data. This data was obtained from direct interviews using questionnaires and literature. The study results are: 1) The total investment of export businesses amounted to IDR 2,971,820,000, obtained from fixed capital of IDR 2,845,580,000 and working capital of IDR.126,240,000. 2) Revenue Cost of Ratio (RCR) obtained a value of 1.22, Financial Rate of Return (FRR) of 61.35%, and in the Payback Period of Capital (PPC) analysis obtained a result of 5.8, which means it takes five years and ten months. The feasibility analysis of the export business at CV Hadi Wijaya Abadi is based on existing provisions/criteria, and it can be concluded that this business is profitable and feasible to run

Abstract

Tanah Merah Village is one of the Fourfinger threadfin fish-producing areas. Most of the population works as fishermen as the basis of their economic income. Fourfinger threadfin fish is the main fishery commodity and has high economic value, thus encouraging the sustainable use of Fourfinger threadfin resources. This research aims to analyze the product flow, information, and finance mechanism in the supply chain of fourfinger threadfin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum) from Tanah Merah Village, Tanah Merah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The method used was in-depth interviews with a qualitative approach. The research results show that the flow of fourfinger threadfin fish products is spread across four provinces on the island of Sumatra. The payment systems used are cash, bank transfers, and loans. The selling price of delighted fish at the fisherman level is IDR 45.000/kg, and at the end consumer IDR 55.000-70.000/kg. Five Senangin fish supply chain entities, namely fishermen, fishermen, collectors, retailers, and final consumers form 3 chain patterns. The longest chain involves five entities and the shortest three entities. The farmer's share value for fishermen is relatively high at over 60%, with the highest value in chain three at 81.8%, indicating the most efficient chain. The product, financial, and information flow mechanisms have been running well. However, coordination and information integration still need to be improved to optimize the supply chain for fourfinger threadfin fish Tanah Merah Village

Abstract

Funding for fishermen's enterprises refers to the costs fishermen require to procure investment goods and operational costs for fishing activities. Funding for fishermen's enterprises is sourced from various channels. This research was conducted in May 2024 in Kuala Indragiri District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The research has two objectives: first, to describe the procedures for funding fishermen's enterprises. The second objective is to determine the influence of funding procedures and the socio-economic conditions of fishermen on the decision to borrow from non-formal sources. The sample consisted of 79 fishermen from 3 villages selected using the purposive sampling. Data collection was done through interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using Descriptive Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the procedures for funding fishermen's enterprises can be sourced from self-funding, family, and non-formal sources referred to as "container", with a value of 3.94 categorized as easy. The multiple linear regression analysis results yielded the equation Ŷ = 17.465 + 0.477X1 - 0.306X2. The research results indicate that funding procedures positively and significantly impact the decision to borrow from non-formal sources. Meanwhile, socio-economic conditions negatively and significantly affect the decision to borrow from non-formal sources. There is a positive and significant simultaneous influence between funding procedures and socio-economic conditions on borrowing from non-formal sources. The variable model can predict borrowing decisions from non-formal sources by 52.2%, with 47.8% influenced by other variables

Abstract

This research was conducted at Marjoly Beach and Resort, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. This study aims to describe the accommodation and entertainment as well as the socio-economic characteristics of visitors to Marjoly Beach and Resort, to analyze the factors that influence tourist visits to Marjoly Beach and Resort, to analyze the amount of economic value obtained by Marjoly Beach and Resort by accidental sampling with a total of 30 respondents. . The data needed in this research include primary and secondary data. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression and from consumer surplus using the travel cost method. Respondents are determined using the travel cost method approach by estimating the economic value seen from the consumer surplus. The results showed that the total travel costs incurred by all visitors as respondents were around Rp. 38,035,000. Factors that influence tourist visits to Marjoly Beach and Resort are travel costs, income and age. The consumer surplus value obtained from the travel cost method is Rp. 50,276,669.60/ person per year or Rp. 17,955,953.4/ person per visit, then the total economic value obtained from assuming a surplus of tourism consumers in Marjoly Beach and Resort is Rp. 2,295,129,967.25.

Abstract

This research was carried out in December 2023 at Tangor Market, Mentangor Village, Kulim District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, with the aim of 1) Analyzing people's preferences for marine fish, marine fish, and the relationship between people's preferences for sea fish at Tangor Market. The research method used was a quantitative survey, and the number of respondents in this research was 37 who bought sea fish. Meanwhile, to answer the research aim, the researcher used Likert Scale data analysis to answer the first and second aims, while to answer the third aim, the researcher used Spearman Rank data analysis. The results of the research show that people's preference for sea fish at Tangor Market has a total Likert Scale of 38, meaning that people's preference for sea fish at Tangor Market is quite good and sea fish at Tangor Market has a total Likert Scale of 57, meaning sea fish at Tangor Market is quite good. In this research, people's preference for sea fish is used as a variable with a value of 0.000, meaning the level of closeness of the relationship between the two variables is very low.
