Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to identify and analyze the legal constructions of capital guarantees in the AAOIFI Sharia Standards and the DSN-MUI Fatwas. This is normative legal research with a specific comparative approach. This research shows that the rulings of the AAOIFI Sharia Standards are more reassuring and prioritize the principle of ihtiyāth (precaution). Meanwhile, the legal provision of the DSN-MUI fatwas, allowing the capital manager to guarantee a return on business capital, is a commitment in the form of tabarru from the fund manager. T he commitment should be fulfilled since it is a wa’ad mulzim (binding promise). T his legal provision of the DSN-MUI Fatwas is a form of innovative ijtihad that seems different from the opinions of most scholars used as the legal basis of the AAOIFI. However, the DSN-MUI’s fatwa is supported by various arguments and is more applicative.

Abstract

This research aims to show the effect of the value of the halal label and celebrity endorser on purchasing decisions for halal cosmetic products with religiosity as a moderating variable. The method uses descriptive quantitative by analyzing the responses to questionnaires distributed to 228 respondents in Indonesia. Based on previous research, four hypotheses were built, and the collected data were processed using a path analysis tool through the Smart PLS 3.3.3 application. The results showed that the halal label variable and celebrity endorser significantly affected purchasing decisions for halal cosmetic products, with religiosity as a moderating variable. Meanwhile, the religiosity variable does not moderate the effect of the halal label and celebrity endorser on the decision to purchase halal cosmetic products. This finding confirms that religiosity has not sufficiently strengthened the influence of the halal label and celebrity endorser on the decision to purchase halal cosmetic products. In order to increase knowledge of Muslim halal in purchasing decisions for halal cosmetic products, the role of halal guarantee institutions and cosmetic manufacturers is needed in optimizing halal certification both from the content and production process. Business actors must increase awareness of the halalness of a product that can convince and encourage Muslim consumers, especially the millennial generation, to make decisions to purchase halal cosmetic products in Indonesia. This study is the first to examine the halal label and celebrity endorser on the decision to purchase halal cosmetic products with religiosity as a moderating variable and reveal its strength and weakness.

Abstract

This article aims to explain the nature of market mechanisms in Islamic economic thought and their current practice. A historical and philosophical approach is used in the analysis to examine the basic teachings of Islam on markets and to explore the ideas and insights of Islamic scholars on this subject. The article concludes that within the Islamic framework, market mechanisms have been considered a vital part of economic activity, such that their existence has been a primary concern of Islamic scholars. Market mechanisms that protect society with fair and just prices are also considered essential and necessary for a better life. This, in turn, implies the need to maintain market mechanisms, where market equilibrium occurs at the intersection of the supply and demand curves in a state of mutual consent. If anything disturbs this equilibrium, the government must intervene in the market.

Abstract

The obligation to pay zakat tijarah (zakat on trade assets) is an important part of Islamic economic practices, especially for Muslim business owners. However, in various regions, including Indramayu Regency, the level of awareness and compliance of business owners, such as tofu and tempeh entrepreneurs, is still relatively low. This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity and zakat literacy partially and simultaneously on the level of awareness of zakat tijarah payments among tofu/tempeh entrepreneurs in Indramayu Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method and distributing questionnaires to entrepreneurs as respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that partially the influence of religiosity on awareness of zakat payments is 68.1% and the influence of zakat literacy on awareness of zakat payments among tofu/tempeh entrepreneurs in Indramayu Regency is 63.5%. Meanwhile, simultaneously, the variables of religiosity and zakat literacy have a significant effect on the level of awareness in paying zakat tijarah by 72.4%.
