Abstract

It is very important to transform cultural values in society so that they are known, accepted and lived up to by the community. The philosophy of Parennialism views the past as a chain of human life that cannot be ignored. The past is an important part of human time travel and has a strong influence on present and future events, therefore the values of the past are valuable must be passed on to today's young generation. Based on the explanation above shows the importance of value education in society. The potential that must be developed in this educational process is the values in local wisdom, especially in the formation of social integration in a society. Character education in primary education with an ethnopedagogical approach through a culture of education based on local wisdom of the Madurese ethnic can function as development: developing the potential of students to become good behavior for students who have attitudes and behaviors that reflect the culture and character of the nation. Improvement: strengthening the work of national education to be responsible for developing the potential of students who are more dignified. Filter: to filter the cultures of one's own nation and the cultures of other nations that are not in accordance with cultural values and national character.

Abstract

Kesantunan berbahasa merupakan penggunaan bahasa yang memperhatikan norma sosial untuk menjaga keharmonisan dalam komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan prinsip kesantunan berbahasa dalam novel Candra Kirana karya Ajip Rosidi menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik berdasarkan teori Leech (1983). Data penelitian berupa 52 tuturan dalam novel yang dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan keberadaan enam maksim kesantunan: kebijaksanaan, penerimaan, kemurahan, kerendahan hati, kecocokan, dan simpati. Di antara keenam maksim tersebut, maksim kemurahan muncul paling dominan, sedangkan maksim simpati paling jarang ditemukan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa tuturan dalam novel Candra Kirana cenderung mengedepankan sikap penghormatan dan penghargaan terhadap sesama. Implikasi dari hasil ini memperkaya kajian pragmatik dalam karya sastra Indonesia sekaligus mengungkap representasi nilai-nilai budaya santun yang hidup dalam wacana sastra nasional.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the moral values of ludruk “Ande-Ande Lumut” for the people of Yosowilangun, Lumajang Regency. Ludruk is a perfoming art that aims to entertain the audience, this art is proof of the richness of Indonesia culture and traditional arts. There are two formulations of the problem in this research, namely 1) what are the moral values contained in the ludruk “Ande-Ande Lumut” for the people of Yosowilangun, Lumajang Regency? And 2) what is the meaning of the story “Ande-Ande Lumut” for the people of Yosowilangun, Lumajang Regency? The moral values in the ludruk “Ande-Ande Lumut” are very interesting to study using leterary anthropology theory because it analyzes literature from a cultural aspect. The approach used is a qualitative a approach with descriptive methods. The data source in this research is a video of the ludruk perfomance “Ande-Ande Lumut”. Data collection tecniques in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, dan drawing conclusions. The result of this research show that there is a moral value from the quotes or conversations contained in the ludruk “Ande-Ande Lumut” as follows; mutual help, kindness, honesty, human relations with religion or belief, and responsibility.

Abstract

Language politeness is how to maintain one’s speech when communicating so as not to offend other people’s feelings. This research aims to describe the use of the greeting ”yang” as an application of the maxim of appreciation in traditional markets in Surabaya. The markets chosen to be research objects are Pucang Market, Pagesangan Market, Turi Market, Manukan Market, and Genteng Market. This research applies Geoffrey Leech’s politeness thepry. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with observational data collection techniques, determining markets, visiting designated markets, preparing recording equipment, visiting kiosks, recording people’s speech, and transcribing data. The data analysis technique uses descriptive methods. From the research results, it can be concluded that the results of data analysis amount to seven utterances that use the greeting ”yang” in the Surabaya traditional market. The purpose of using the greeting ”yang” in social interactions in traditional markets in Surabaya is very diverse, some of which aim to attract the attention of buyers to buy their wares, some to seduce buyers to buy their wares in large quantities, and some are used to appreciate fellow sellers and buyers.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of animation films media in order to improve the ability to write anecdotal texts in students. The study was conducted on students of class X IPA 7 at SMAN 15 Surabaya. This research was a classroom action research study consisting of two cycles. Classroom action research is focused on improving the ability to write anecdotal text of students when learning slimming. The results of the research showed an increase both in terms of the anecdotal writing learning process (student cooperation, student initiative, student attention, and systematic work), as well as the quality of student skills results (students' ability to express ideas, vocabulary, use of EBI, and evaluation).

Abstract

This research aims to develop students' critical thinking, creativity, and acting skills through the application of semiotics and deconstruction theory in teaching theatre based on the play Arjuna Wiwaha. With a descriptive qualitative approach and a Project-Based Learning model using peer tutor techniques, students are invited to understand semiotic elements such as signs, symbols, and hidden meanings, and apply deconstruction theory to dismantle traditional assumptions in the story. The results showed that the students were able to identify themes, characters, and symbols, and integrate this understanding into the art of acting through dialogue, gesture, intonation, staging, and costume. The resulting theatre performances not only highlighted deep emotional conflicts and authentic characters, but also conveyed cultural values, philosophy of life, and moral dilemmas relevant to contemporary issues. The study concludes that this approach is effective in improving the quality of student acting while enriching theatre learning as a medium for cultural reflection and character building.

Abstract

This article will describe the use of the interrogative verb "how much" which is included in the scale implicature in the conversation of people in tourist attractions in Surabaya City. The method used in the study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection technique used is observation. The data source obtained in the study was the speech of people in tourist attractions in Surabaya City. The research data was obtained by recording conversations of people in five tourist attractions in Surabaya City with a cellphone. The theory used in the study is from George Yule. The results of the data analysis found seven uses of the interrogative verb "how much" to ask for the amount, three to ask for the price, and two data to ask for time.Keywords: how much; auxiliary word; question; tourismABSTRAKArtikel ini akan mendeskripsikan penggunaan kata bantu tanya “berapa” yang termasuk dalam implikatur berskala pada percakapan masyarakat di tempat wisata Kota Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni  observasi. Sumber data diperoleh dalam penelitian yakni tuturan masyarakat di tempat wisata Kota Surabaya. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan merekam percakapan masyarakat di lima tempat wisata Kota Surabaya dengan handphone. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian  yakni dari George Yule. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan kata aku sebagai eksplorasi diri dalam tuturan masrayakat di tempat wisata Kota Surabaya. Tuturan masyarakat di tempat wisata menjadi objek penelitian yang menarik karena akan ditemukan percakapan-percakapan yang natural tanpa dibuat-buat. Tuturan para pengunjung yang beragam tersebut yang menarik untuk diteliti terutama menggunakan deiksis persona. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh seratus tiga puluh lima data deiksis persona yang mencakup di Taman Bungkul sebanyak tiga puluh satu data, di Kebun Binatang Surabaya sebanyak tiga puluh data, di Alun-Alun Surabaya sebanyak tiga puluh dua data, di Pantai Kenjeran sebanyak dua puluh lima data, dan di Wisata Hutan Mangrove Wonorejo sebanyak tujuh belas data. Wujud dan variasi bentuk kata yang ditemukan sebanyak dua ratus enam puluh wujud kata dan sembilan belas variasi bentuk kata yang mencakup tujuh variasi persona pertama, delapan variasi persona kedua, dan empat variasi persona ketiga. Dari penelitian ini, kita dapat memahami pentingnya penggunaan kata ganti yang tepat sebagai acuan agar komunikasi dapat berjalan dengan lancar.

Abstract

This research is designed to know relatedness between implementation of differentiate learning model which is collaborated with Teaching at the Right Level approach to the students’ learning achievement at Indonesian subject in XI C - 2 class of 15 Surabaya senior high school. This research is an action class research which is done in two cycles and involved 36 students. The learning have done with content differentiate strategy, process, and product. Also grouping based on cognitive level of the students. The research’s result shows significant improvement in completeness of students’ learning outcomes, from 30,5 percent in pra-cycle to 88,8 percent in second cycle. This findings show that differentiate learning’s model integrated and TaRL approach can improve learning effectiveness also fulfill students’ learning need individually. This strategy is also proven encourage students’ active involvement and improve their learning motivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai budaya Jawa dalam cerita Panji Semirang menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra menurut Damono (1984: 6). Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dan sumber data yang digunakan berupa wawancara budayawan panji Henri Nurcahyo, Bungurasih Sidoarjo pada 24 Desember 2023 berdurasi 53 menit 32 detik dan Seri Naskah Kuna Nusantara No. 38 Perpustakaan Republik Indonesia berjudul Hikayat Panji Kuda Semirang Alih Aksara ditulis oleh Ahmad Budi Wahyono pada tahun 2018 berjumlah 122 halaman. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu metode triangulasi. Teknik triangulasi merupakan teknik untuk mendapatkan kreadibilitas data, peneliti selaku instrumen kunci melakukan pengecekan data dari berbagai sumber tentang cerita Panji Semirang dengan teknik yang berbeda, yaitu wawancara dan dokumen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan nilai-nilai budaya Jawa dalam cerita Panji Semirang yang terdiri atas 4 nilai keagamaan yang meliputi keimanan tauhidan manusia terhadap Tuhan, keteringatan manusia terhadap Tuhan, ketaatan manusia terhadap firman Tuhan, kepasrahan manusia terhadap kekuasaan Tuhan, dan 5 nilai etika berupa kesahajaan, menerima kenyataan, keseimbangan mental, sembada, nalar, serta terdapat 2 nilai sosial, yaitu bakti dan rukun.
