Abstract

This study attempts to identify the existence of asymmetric volatility in the Islamic capital market in Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. The paper employs the symmetric analysis of the GARCH (1,1) model and the asymmetric analysis of the TGARCH (1,1) model in order to identify Islamic capital market behaviour during the first 200 days after the first Covid-19 cases were confirmed. We used the daily closing prices of the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). The symmetric analysis of the GARCH (1,1) model revealed that the current value of return on the ISSI does not have a significant impact on its future value. On the other hand, the TGARCH (1,1) model showed that the asymmetric parameter coefficient was positive and statistically significant. Good news and bad news does not have the same level of impact on the volatility of returns on the ISSI. Furthermore, coefficients αi and γi in the variance equation indicate that good news has a higher volatility impact than bad news. The results indicate that investors should not to worry about the bad news effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, while the government should continue the mitigation of the spread of the coronavirus along with its economic recovery policy.

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to analyze the correlation between learning outcomes in the first year, the final results of study and the period of study of students. The research method used is quantitative (descriptive-associative) method. This research is an ex-post research. The sample of this study was 317 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology from 2006 to 2010. Data analysis techniques used in this study were the average difference test and the correlation test. Research data were collected using documentation. Learning outcomes data in the first year and final study data using IPK data, and study period data using the number of semesters taken by students. This study concludes that the learning outcomes in the first year and the final results of the study of mathematics teacher candidates at UIN Sunan Kalijaga are  more than 3.00, but the study period is more than 8 semesters. In addition, this study also concluded that there was a positive correlation between learning outcomes in the first year and the final results of student studies, but there was a negative correlation between learning outcomes in the first year and the period of study of students and between the final results of study and study period of students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy to mathematics learning outcomes with the research object of 52 grade IX students in the 2020/2021 school year of MTsN 1 Yogyakarta. This type of research is quantitative with ex post facto research methods. The instrument used is a scale of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. The results of data analysis show that the value of R = 0.479 and R2 = 0.229 with the probability value in the regression test being 0.002. These results mean that emotional intelligence and self-efficacy contribute to students' mathematics learning outcomes

Abstract

This study examines higher order mathematical thinking skills in terms of differences in school status (public and private) and gender differences (male and female). All madrasah aliyah students in the city of Yogyakarta became the subject of this research population. The sample subjects of this study were 83 students from one public school and four private schools which were selected using a stratified sampling technique. The Higher Order Mathematical Thinking Skills Test became the instrument in this study. Two-way analysis of variance is the technical data analysis used in this study. This study concludes that students' high order mathematical thinking skills are still low. This study also concluded that there was no difference between the higher order mathematical thinking skills of public madrasah aliyah students and private madrasah aliyah students and there was no difference between the higher order mathematical thinking skills of female and male students. Another conclusion is that there is no interaction between school status and student gender on higher order mathematical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative analytical survey research with an explanatory method in which the researcher attempts to explain to what extent the effect of learning mathematics on the results of mid-semester assessments for class VIII students in one of the junior high schools in Tangerang Regency. The sample of this research is students in class VIII. The sample selection was done randomly by taking 31 students from a total of 70 students. In collecting data related to student learning, we distributed a simple questionnaire by google form and to obtain data on the results of the mid-semester assessment of our students, we collaborated with the mathematics teacher in charge of the school. The results of this study stated that the way students learn in learning mathematics, especially in online learning, is said to have an effect of 11.45% on the results of the students' midterm assessment. the way to learn in online learning is divided into four sub categories of learning methods, including: how to take math lessons online, how to learn math independently at home, how to study math textbooks, and how to face math exams. Of these four sub-categories, three of them are in the good category in their implementation, while the sub-category of how to learn in online learning is in the sufficient category which indirectly means that there is still a need for re-evaluation related to the mechanism for implementing mathematics online learning.

Abstract

One of the cognitive skills that students must have is problem-solving ability. Therefore, a standardized test is needed to measure this ability. However, until now, the tests used to measure mathematical problem-solving ability were not standardized. This research aims to develop a valid and practical mathematical problem-solving test in the discussion of triangles and rectangles. This research is part of the RD 4D type with steps: Defined (analysis to develop a test), Design (designing a problem-solving test form), and Develop (expert judgment and small group trials). The instrument in this research was the validation sheet used by the validator to assess each test item. The data analysis technique used the Aiken method for expert judgment and qualitative descriptive for development testing. The result is a valid and practical mathematical problem-solving test because the V-Aiken value is more than 0.532. Based on this, the instrument can be used to measure the mathematical problem-solving ability of junior high school students in the discussion of triangles and rectangles.

Abstract

Nowadays ICT is rising rapidly, although in fact the effort of mathematics teaching quality is still concerning in cognitive aspect while forgetting non-cognitive aspect. The neglect of affective aspect as well emotional quotient in mathematics teaching contributes to social situation that hamper national character development. So, the development of ICT must be preferred as an alternative for mathematics teaching in order to extend emotional quotient towards national character development. It stands to reason that due to the development of ICT has another side that is likely to increase emotional skills in social life.

Abstract

The objectives of public devotion based on nationally excelled research this covers: (1) to develop a mathematical problem composing guide based on HOTS and SCE for qualified Madrasah Tsanawiyah teachers, (2) to provide training a mathematical problem composing based on HOTS and SCE for qualified Madrasah Tsanawiyah teachers using the developed guide. This study uses a 4-D (Four D) development research design model according to Thiagarajan, et al (1974: 5). This research model includes 4 main stages, namely the defining stage, followed by the design stage, then towards the development stage, and finally the distribution phase. The research instruments included: (a) the scale of the assessment of the quality of mathematical composing guide based on HOTS and SCE for Madrasah Tsanawiyah teachers, (b) scale of appraisal user response for guidebook, and (c) the Pre Test and Post Test Problem Sheets. The results of the study concluded that the guidebook for mathematical problem composing for SMP / MTs based on HOTS and SCE met the specified quality criteria, which were at least in the good category. In this study, the developed guidebook obtained an evaluation in the excellent category. However, testing to determine the level of practicality has not been done.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of spiritual intelligence on the learning discipline of students at Madrasah Diniyyah. After testing, it can be concluded that spiritual intelligence partially has an influence on the learning discipline of students. Meanwhile, spiritual intelligence has a simultaneous influence on the students’ learning discipline. Based on the statistical test, the author got an R squared value of 0.942 or 94.2% which explains that 94.2% of the learning discipline variable transition can be explained by the spiritual intelligence variable, while the remaining 5.8% is explained by other variables outside the model. The score of 0.942 explains that there is a strong and unidirectional relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable simultaneously. Based on the t-test, it was found that spiritual intelligence had no influence on the student’s learning discipline. For the F test, it was found that simultaneously spiritual intelligence had an influence on the learning discipline of students at Madrasah Diniyyah Al Munawwir Krapyak, Yogyakarta.
