Abstract

One of the key learning goals for mathematics in schools is the development of mathematical reasoning skills. The goal of this study is to review research on several initiatives to enhance mathematical reasoning skills conducted between 2019 and 2024. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) technique is employed in this study, which chooses all articles—both domestic and foreign—that are indexed by at least Sinta 4 and Scopus in Google Scholar, Semantic, or via the journal URL. Several markers of mathematical reasoning ability were discovered based on the observations, and teachers can choose to employ methodologies, learning models, and instructional resources to help students become more proficient in mathematical reasoning. Approaches in the process that can be used include contextual approaches, metaphorical approaches, and RME. Learning models that can be chosen include Problem-based learning, reflective, ECIRR, and Novick's. Then, teachers can also choose to develop learning media such as videos or e-modules and PROLIBRA which uses the geogebra application.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is the mathematical ability that requires critical reasoning skills and problem-solving logic, in order to solve everyday problems. Several environmental factors can influence a person's mathematical literacy, including the use of learning models in the teaching and learning process. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was used in this research to find and analyze various relevant studies to answer the Research Question (RQ). Data were collected through the review of national and international articles from the Google Scholar and Sinta databases. The results show that the Problem-Based Learning model is the most frequently used model to improve students' mathematics skills from 2019 to 2024. By applying the Problem-Based Learning model, students' mathematical literacy skills significantly increased. This model helps students learn to think critically, and analytically, and solve mathematical problems in real-world contexts. Overall, this model enhances students' understanding and application of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Students need internal or external support in learning mathematics; the main focus of this study discusses internal factors regarding students' mathematical resilience. This study aims to examine the definition, indicators, and role of mathematical resilience in mathematics learning. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is a research method used in this study. Before being adjusted to the criteria, there were 38 articles, but only 14 articles in the last 5 years met the criteria as material for reviewing the discussion related to mathematical resilience. The results of the study show that (1) mathematical resilience can be determined to be a non-intellectual capacity of students in mathematics learning, especially the capacity to survive and form a positive mindset in facing all challenges at a difficult level when learning mathematics in class; (2) indicators of mathematical resilience that are often used come from Sumarmo, Johnston-Wilder et al., and Hutauruk; (3) the role of mathematical resilience in learning is to help students control affective abilities in training the abilities needed when learning mathematics. In further research, it is hoped that we will be able to link students' mathematical resilience with appropriate learning models.

Abstract

In meeting the needs of modern society, students are required to have several competencies, one of which is Mathematical Literacy. One way to improve students' mathematical literacy skills is to apply a Structured Inquiry-based learning approach. The purpose of this research is to investigate the components in Structured Inquiry learning that can improve students' mathematical literacy skills. The method used was Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 30 filtered articles. The articles reviewed were sourced from Sinta 1 - Sinta 3 indexed articles, Scopus rank Q1 - Q3, and several sources from the Ministry of Education and Culture. The results show that the Structured Inquiry learning model can be used as one of the approaches in learning to improve students' mathematical literacy skills. Some materials that can be used to maximise student learning outcomes include geometry, arithmetic, and calculation materials. Teacher guidance in applying the structured inquiry learning model will greatly determine student learning outcomes, especially in improving their mathematical literacy skills. Structured inquiry learning is more optimally applied at the elementary and junior high school levels. It is necessary to develop mathematical literacy questions in order to improve students' mathematical literacy skills. It is hoped that future researchers can examine more deeply other learning models that can improve students' mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Students with good numeracy skills will help them in solving problems. However, based on the PISA results, in reality educational results in this domain are still below standard, one of which is in the concept of opportunity which is one of the numeracy content domains. Based on this, the aim of this research is to determine the application of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education learning in improving students' numerical abilities in class VIII opportunity concepts. This PTK research was carried out in three cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, analysis and reflection. The research subjects (SP) were 6 class VIII students at Al-Chalidyah Middle School. This research applies the PMRI stages. At each meeting, students are given worksheets as a learning tool that contains numeracy problem solving as a form of phenomenological exploration, use models, student contribution, interactivity, and intertwinment, so that students can find the concepts being studied that are adapted to indicators of numeracy ability. The results of the research stated that students' ability to understand mathematical concepts had increased. This can be seen from the students' process of participating in learning activities and also the increase in the average score of the SP cycle tests. The results for cycle I were 65.97, cycle II 75.00 and cycle III 82.10. So it can be concluded that PMRI learning can improve numeracy skills on occasion.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation of gamification in mathematics learning as a strategy to enhance students' learning motivation. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the SALSA approach (Search, Appraisal, Synthesis, and Analysis) to obtain a comprehensive and systematic synthesis of findings. A total of 17 scholarly articles published between 2015 and 2025 were analyzed based on four main focuses: the effectiveness of gamification, implementation challenges, types of learning media used, and gamification components that contribute to increased learning motivation. The analysis results show that gamification generally has a positive impact on learning motivation in the context of mathematics education. The application of elements such as points, levels, badges, leaderboards, challenges, immediate feedback, and visual narratives has been proven to enhance students’ attention, self-confidence, engagement, and learning satisfaction. However, the effectiveness of this strategy highly depends on the learning context, student characteristics, types of media used, and the quality of gamification design. Identified challenges include infrastructure limitations, low teacher competence in educational technology, misalignment of materials with the curriculum, and potential social and psychological impacts from the competitive systems implemented.
