Abstract

One of the key processes in communication is listening. Listening is a language skill that can broaden one’s horizons when done well and correctly. Gender refers to the observable differences in society between men and women; it is not innate and can change over time. Every individual has a distinct personality, which is categorized into two types: extroverted and introverted. The researcher conducted this study after observing differences in listening outcomes between women and men with diverse personalities during learning activities in a university setting. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of gender (male and female) and personality types (introvert and extrovert) on the listening competence of students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, FKIP, Unissula. This quantitative study employed an experimental design involving 60 students using a simple 2 x 2 factorial design. This study employed linear regression analysis to examine the influence of the variables under investigation. The hypotheses for this study consist of Ho, which states that there is no significant interaction between gender and personality type in students’ listening skills, and Ha, which states that there is a significant interaction between gender and personality type in students’ listening skills. The results of the study indicate that, in general, there is a positive interaction between gender and personality type regarding students’ listening competence. This interaction is evident from the statistical calculations, which show that the calculated F-value is 3.619, which is greater than the critical F-value of 3.072. The findings reveal that female students with an extroverted personality type demonstrate better listening performance compared to others. Furthermore, there is a relationship between gender and personality that can influence students’ listening performance. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an interaction between these two variables regarding students’ listening competence, and thus the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan transformasi puisi menjadi pertunjukan teater melalui pendampingan kreatif pada komunitas sastra dan teater, dengan studi praktik pada pementasan Meneroka Tubuh oleh Teater Atmosfer Kendal. Permasalahan yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan ruang ekspresi kreatif dan rendahnya pemaknaan nilai karakter dalam karya sastra di kalangan generasi muda, terlebih dalam karya transformasi puisi menjadi teater. Metode yang diterapkan mencakup lokakarya puisi, adaptasi teks menjadi naskah teater, eksplorasi tubuh, latihan pementasan, serta refleksi terhadap nilai karakter. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa proses transformasi puisi menjadi teater mampu meningkatkan kemampuan interpretasi, ekspresi artistik, serta kesadaran reflektif peserta terhadap nilai eksistensial dan karakter. Pertunjukan Meneroka Tubuh menghadirkan pengalaman estetis yang menggambarkan tubuh sebagai ruang konflik antara ingatan, sejarah, dan pencarian makna, sehingga efektif dijadikan media pendidikan karakter. Kegiatan ini memiliki peran penting dalam memperkuat literasi sastra berbasis komunitas serta mengembangkan seni sebagai sarana pembentukan karakter generasi muda dalam karya pementasan teater.

Abstract

Program DISMA (Diskusi Santri Muda Aktif) dirancang sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara santri Pondok Pesantren MTA Mojogedang. Pelatihan ini memadukan metode diskusi dan media pembelajaran interaktif untuk menciptakan suasana belajar yang aktif, kolaboratif, dan menyenangkan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, diperoleh hasil bahwa santri mengalami perkembangan signifikan dalam keberanian berbicara, kelancaran menyampaikan gagasan, dan kemampuan berargumen secara runtut. Selain itu, program ini turut menumbuhkan nilai-nilai karakter seperti sopan santun, kerja sama, dan etika berkomunikasi. Program DISMA efektif menjadi model pelatihan yang mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara sekaligus memperkuat karakter santri di lingkungan pesantren. The DISMA (Active Young Santri Discussion) program was developed to enhance the speaking skills of students at MTA Islamic Boarding School Mojogedang. This training integrates discussion methods with interactive learning media to create an active, collaborative, and engaging learning experience. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation, the results show significant improvements in students' speaking confidence, fluency, and ability to present ideas coherently. The program also strengthens character values such as politeness, cooperation, and communication ethics. DISMA proves to be an effective training model that improves speaking skills while reinforcing students’ character within the Islamic boarding school environment.
