Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical reasoning ability of seventh grade junior high school students in solving story problems in terms of student perceptions. This research used qualitative method with descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were 31 students of class VII A SMP N 5 Magelang with the selection of subjects using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were observation sheets, which were used to observe the mathematics learning process, questionnaires of students' perceptions of mathematics, mathematical reasoning ability tests, interview guidelines, and documentation. The stages of data analysis in this study include data collection, data reduction and data presentation. Meanwhile, to check the credibility of data using triangulation techniques. The data generated in this study are data on the results of students' perceptions of mathematics, data on the results of mathematical reasoning ability tests on whole numbers and fractions, and interview transcripts with research subjects. The results of this study show that students with very positive perceptions with high reasoning ability and students with positive perceptions with high reasoning ability are able to explain orally all indicators of mathematical reasoning but are unable to explain in writing the indicators of determining strategies

Abstract

Complex problem solving is a cognitive skill to obtain information about obscure problem situations and use knowledge to achieve self-formulated goals in solving problems. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of complex problem-solving ability of students who are prospective mathematics teachers. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects of this study were 3 prospective mathematics teacher students in semester VII of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Tidar University. The main instrument is the researcher himself, supported by complex problem-solving tests and interview guidelines. The data studied are answer sheets for complex problem solving tests which are then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the level of complex problem-solving ability is divided into 3, namely novice, medium, and proficient.

Abstract

The learning of mathematics is not only focused on improving students' computational skills but also prioritizes the development of problem-solving abilities. One of the approaches that can be used to enhance problem-solving skills is the CIRC learning model aided by LKS (Student Worksheets) based on RME (Realistic Mathematics Education). This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the nonequivalent control group design. Two classes were involved in the study: the experimental class (XI MIPA 2) and the control class (XI MIPA 4). The research instruments used were tests, interview guidelines, observation sheets, and validation sheets. Data was collected through tests, observations, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The hypothesis test results indicated that students' problem-solving abilities taught using the CIRC learning model aided by LKS based on RME were superior compared to those taught using the CIRC model on the topics of sequences and series. It was proven that implementing the CIRC learning model aided by LKS based on RME significantly improved problem-solving skills among students of XI MIPA 2 at SMA Negeri 2 Grabag, with a high achievement category.

Abstract

Tindakan yang difokuskan untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran melalui penguatan disiplin diri pada siswa disebut sebagai kemampuan berpikir kritis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengevaluasi apakah siswa yang diajarkan dengan model flipped classroom berbasis moodle memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis yang lebih baik daripada mereka yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group resume; (2) untuk menilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan tingkat disposisi matematika yang berbeda, yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah; serta (3) untuk menganalisis bagaimana interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan disposisi matematika terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian eksperimental semu yang menggunakan konsep pretest-posttest control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa uji hipotesis pertama pada penelitian ini didapatkan , sehingga ditolak, hasil uji hipotesis kedua diperoleh , sehingga diterima, hasil uji hipotesis ketiga diperoleh , sehingga diterima. Karena terjadi penolakan pada uji hipotesis pertama, maka dilanjutkan uji scheffe yaitu dengan menghitung rerata marginal. Berdasarkan analisis hasil hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa: (1) siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran flipped classroom berbasis moodle memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis yang lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group resume; (2) tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis antara siswa dengan tingkat disposisi matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah; serta (3) tidak terdapat pengaruh interaktif antara model pembelajaran dan disposisi matematika terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Continuous Professional Development includes three things, namely self-development, scientific publications, and innovative work. The problems that occur in partners are still a lack of understanding of mathematics teachers about making scientific articles and still a lack of understanding about the stages of publication of scientific articles in journals through OJS. To facilitate scientific publications of mathematics teachers, Tidar University organizes assistance in writing scientific articles and scientific publications as a means of teacher self-development, especially teachers who are members of the mathematics MGMP of SMP Temanggung Regency. The methods used are socialization (discussion and question and answer), assistance in article preparation, practical exercises in using the open journal system (OJS), and evaluation. At the end of the activity, a survey will be conducted to check the understanding of partners after the activity. The implementation of this Community Partnership Program activity was carried out as many as 2 meetings in the Hall of SMP Negeri 2 Temanggung offline and online using gmeet. Service activities include training, mentoring, and socialization of manuscript submissions to destination journals. The result of the service activities is that junior high school mathematics teachers throughout Temanggung Regency get a good understanding in writing scientific articles and publishing articles in the field of mathematics education

Abstract

Web-based multimedia are rarely used in education, especially in mathematics. This study at SMP Negeri 1 Candimulyo aimed to assess students’ mathematical thinking abilities under different learning scenarios. For the eight-grade students, a quasi-experimental approach was employed using the discovery learning model integrated with Math City Map and the direct learning model. Random sampling was used to select students from various classes. The mathematical thinking ability pretest and posttest are the research tools for this study. The findings show that: (1) students taught with the discovery learning model integrated with Math City Map have a higher level of mathematical thinking than those taught with the direct learning model; (2) students using the discovery learning model integrated with Math City Map have a higher level of mathematical thinking up to 0,565 or in medium category; and (3) students who use the direct learning model increase in mathematical thinking up to 0,407 or in medium category

Abstract

Analisis bangunan bersejarah Benteng Vredeburg memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah, struktur bentuk bangunan bersejarah dan etnomatematika pada Benteng Vredeburg dari segi geometri. Pada penelitian ini metode yang digunakan berupa penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi,wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi secara langsung di Benteng Vredeburg. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil yaitu Benteng Vredeburg merupakan bangunan bersejarah peninggalan abad ke-18 oleh VOC yang terletak di depan kantor pos Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dan di ujung jalan Malioboro. Jika dilihat dari atas, bentuk dasar Benteng Vredeburg adalah segi empat yang kemudian disetiap sudut-sudutnya terdapat bangun lain yang berbentuk segi lima beraturan yang kongruen. Sedangkan jika dari depan benteng ini mempunyai unsur geometri ruang yaitu balok.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to: (1) analyze the influence of the Giving Question and Getting Answer learning model on the mathematical logical intelligence of grade X students of SMAN 1 Muntilan, (2) analyze the influence of the Think Pair Share learning model on the mathematical logical intelligence of grade X students of SMAN 1 Muntilan, (3) analyze learning models that produce mathematical logical intelligence that is more influential between the Giving Question and Getting Answer learning model or the model Learning Think Pair Share for grade X students of SMAN 1 Muntilan. This type of research is an experiment with a quantitative approach. The population used is tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Muntilan for the 2022/2023 school year. Data collection is done by testing. The tests used are paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The results showed that: (1) students' mathematical logical intelligence increased after the application of the giving question getting answer learning model, (2) students' mathematical logical intelligence increased after the implementation of the think pair share learning model, (3) the mathematical logical intelligence of students who were treated with the giving question getting answer learning model was better than students who were treated with the think pair share learning model Keyword: giving question getting answer learning model, mathematical logical intelligence, think pair share learning model.

Abstract

Sukosari village in Bandongan Sub-District, Magelang regency, has great potential in the development and conservation of family medicinal plants (TOGA) thanks to favorable soil and temperature conditions. HIMATIKA Untidar PPK Program aims to maximize this potential through collaboration between students and the community. Activities include program socialization, biodiversity mapping of medicinal plants, TOGA planting and conservation training, as well as traditional herbal medicine making training. The results of this program include the creation of a biodiversity map of medicinal plants, the establishment of TOGA groups and conservation areas, the implementation of TOGA processed product workshops such as turmeric Asam sirih and wedang uwuh, as well as the promotion of traditional herbal medicine through jamutika expo

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis dan penyebab mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal pada mata kuliah Geometri Bidang menggunakan indikator teori Newman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Matematika kelas 03 semester I Universitas Tidar tahun akademik 2018/2019. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan hasil tes ujian akhir semester dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data melalui tahap reduksi, penyajian data, menarik kesimpulan dan diuji keabsahan dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa melakukan (1) kesalahan membaca soal sebesar 25,8% yaitu kesalahan dalam membaca informasi penting dalam soal; (2) kesalahan memahami soal sebesar 38,7% yaitu kesalahan karena tidak mengetahui apa yang ditanyakan soal; (3) kesalahan mentransformasi soal sebesar 58,1% yaitu kesalahan karena tidak mampu menggunakan cara yang tepat untuk menyelesaikan soal; (4) kesalahan keterampilan memproses sebesar 77,4% yaitu kesalahan dalam perhitungan; (5) kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir 87,1% yaitu kesalahan mahasiswa dalam menuliskan jawaban akhir dari soal.
