Abstract

The learning process is inseparable from the interaction between the teacher, students, and subject matter. Learning is said to be good if it can describe or express learning activities in totality. One approach that can reveal learning in totality is the Subject Material Pedagogy (PMS). PMS considers that learning is a phenomenon of discourse that is able to teach subject matter in a teachable (easily taught) and accessible (easily accessible) format for students that contain intelligible, plausible, and fruitful criteria. The purpose of this study is to determine the intelligible, plausible, and fruitful criteria and the relationship between the three in learning business and energy. The method used in this research is to use the discourse analysis method. This research was conducted in MAN 2 Garut with a sample of class X MIA 4 students. The results showed that the intelligible criteria were 60%, the plausible criteria were 20%, the fruitful criteria were 12%, and without the response were 8%. The relationship between intelligible, plausible, and fruitful criteria on business and energy learning shows that students can reach the fruitful criteria if the students have reached the intelligible and plausible criteria.

Abstract

Hydrothermal system research using Self Potential (SP) Method, 2-D DC Resistivity and surface temperature, has been done at Domas Crater (1700 masl). Potential anomaly which is associated with subsurface structure is obtained by SP measurement, whereas temperature measurement is done to get information about surface temperature distribution laterally and resistivity distribution of volcano structures is known by 2-D DC Resistivity measurement. Hydrothermal activities, which cause the existence of SP value, are modeled using this scheme modeling. This schema modeling is validated by comparing the value of SP model with field measurement. The shallow hydrothermal activities at Domas Crater are influenced by meteoric and subsurface water. The velocity of hydrothermal activities are about 10-9 - 10-7 m/s. 16.64% root mean square error is obtained by Comsol modeling, whereas 6.54% root mean square error is obtained by modeling using finite element method.

Abstract

The 21st Century Learning is an increasingly interactive and attractive learning era. The learning process in the 21st century does not only focus on teaching and learning activities in the classroom and explaining theories. There need to be laboratory activities that help provide visuals to students, especially future physics teacher candidates. Various innovations have been made in the development of laboratory activity models. There are still many laboratory activity models that focus on one activity, namely real or virtual. Laboratory activities in the 21st century do not always have to focus on super skills or 4C skills currently in the spotlight and forget about analytical skills and the balance between LOTS and HOTS. This study aims to develop a mixed laboratory activity model that can build 4C skills focused on analytical skills and balance between LOTS-HOTS; in addition, two activities are combined into one, real and virtual. The method used in this research is in the form of Research and Development using the ADDIE model with three meetings in implementation. The results obtained in this study, namely STB-LAB, obtained good model and guide validity results. N-Gain data showed that in the control class, only creative thinking skills were compelling enough, with a value of 59.47. In contrast, in experiment class, only communication skills have an effective enough category with a value of 57.84, but other aspects have an effective category with a value > 76.00. The hypothesis test showed that using STB-LAB could improve students as physics teacher candidate 4C Skills.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this paper article is to review students' perceptions in the use of PhET-based virtual labs and also to provide a description in comparison to perceptions of virtual lab use from some of the results of previous studies that are relevant to this study. There are five aspects in the perception that will be surveyed, including; (1) aspects of innovation, (2) aspects of benefits (3) aspects of motivation, (4) aspects of effectiveness, (5) aspects of presenting procedures for laboratory activities. The method used is quantitative and qualitative with a Likert scale questionnaire which must be filled in by 40 people and then interviewing the subjects, after the data is collected, percentage data analysis is carried out. The results of the data analyzed show that the aspects of innovation, effectiveness, benefits and presentation of the procedure get a positive view compared to the motivational aspects which are stated to be negative, so this study also shows that the use of virtual labs based on PhET is innovative and effective, but lacks motivation in its use because of essential activities. laboratory is not felt, in presenting the module is required to increase 4C Skills to support 21st century skills

Abstract

Urban Heat Island is a phenomenon of increasing temperature that occurs in the city area compared to the surrounding area. Urban Heat Island is caused by reduced vegetation due to changes in rural land use to urban areas. This study was conducted to analysis the relation between vegetation density (NDVI) and surface temperature (LST) in Buahbatu District as an effort to control the impact of the Urban Heat Island phenomenon. This research was conducted by processing data from Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS satellite images in 2019-2020, namely from May to October 2019 and May to October 2020. Data collection was carried out through Google Earth Engine to retrieve geospatial data visualization (satellite imagery) and USGS to download Landsat 8 satellite imagery on Bands 4 and 5, then the data is processed using Arcmap, and Pearson correlation test is performed on SPSS. The results obtained are a correlation between vegetation density and surface temperature. In Buahbatu District, the correlation between vegetation density and surface temperature shows a value of (-.403*) in 2019 and (-.386*) in 2020. Both show a negative correlation, which means that if an area has high vegetation density, the surface temperature will decrease, and vice versa. In addition, Buahbatu District gets a good UHI with an NDVI above 0.25, and an LST below 30 but not less than 25.

Abstract

Digital literacy is an understanding of digital which is an ability that is very much needed in learning in the digital era or the 21st century. The use of technology or technology development is one of the things that can be used in digital literacy skills. The use of technology in education is the most important aspect of 21st-century learning because many students have started using technology, one of which is virtual-based laboratory activities. Not spared from digital literacy, a person's success in the 21st Century is determined by his emotional intelligence. About 80% of emotional intelligence (EQ) is the main factor in a successful life. This study aims to find a correlation between digital literacy and emotional intelligence using Viscosity Stoke's Method assisted by the Amrita OLabs virtual laboratory. For digital literacy aspect there are; (1) Internet Basic; (2) Use of Win/Mac OS; and (3) Computer Basic, for emotional intelligence, the aspect there are; (1) Perception; (2) Understanding; (3) Facilitation; and (4) Self-Management. The method used in this research is using a true-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, with a sampling technique that is non-probability sampling which produces a purposive sample of 30 subjects in the early semester students of Physics Education UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The results showed that there was an influence on digital domain literacy on N-Gain and emotional intelligence with N-Gain. In addition, the Pearson's Correlation test shows a correlation between digital domain literacy and emotional intelligence, which is indicated by a sig value of .039 with a low degree of correlation or Pearson's correlation value of .379. This research has implications for determining the decision to use a virtual laboratory to increase digital literacy in terms of student’s emotional intelligence
