Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Interactive Lecture Demonstration (ILD) model and the influence of gender on critical thinking skills in momentum and impulse. This study used a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research instruments were observation sheets and critical thinking skills tests. The analysis data were calculating the percentage of activity on the observation sheet, N-Gain, and independent-sample t-test. The results showed that percentage of learning in the experimental class (ILD) for teacher activities was 76% and for students were 77% in a good category. The control class (demonstration) for teacher and student activity was 77% in a good category. The average N-Gain of the experimental class was 0.62 and the control class was 0.55 in the medium category. The t-test results showed that there were differences in the improvement of students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class and the control class. Besides, gender has no effect on students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class. Meanwhile, in the control class, gender affects students' critical thinking skills. Thus, the implementation of the ILD model can improve students' critical thinking skills. Gender does not affect students' critical thinking skills in the ILD model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Collaborative Creativity (CC) learning model on students’ creative thinking skills on simple harmonic vibration material. We also examine the different responses by gender. This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The sample used in this study was grade 10th, consisting of 32 students as the experimental class, and 30 as a control class. The research instrument used was a test of creative thinking skills. The results showed the average N-gain in the experimental class was 0.73 with a very high interpretation, and the control class was 0.32 with a moderate. The results of hypothesis testing using the two-way ANOVA test show a sig < 0.05, which means that the learning model influences students’ creative thinking skills. In addition, the CC learning model was also comfort to use by gender which statistical analysis prove the sig > 0.05, which means that there is no gender effect on students’ creative thinking skills. Thus the Collaborative Creativity (CC) learning model can be used as an alternative to improve students’ creative thinking skills on simple harmonic vibration material.

Abstract

Flooding is a natural disaster that can harm various parties, both harming nature and also harming humans. Floods can certainly hinder various human activities, both social and economic. Various causes of flooding can be caused by two main factors, namely natural factors and human factors. The natural factors in question are caused by nature, such as high-intensity rain, while the human factors are caused by humans, such as massive development and lack of drainage and humans' bad attitude towards the environment. This research aims to determine the probability of flooding in the Bandung Regency area. The research method used uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method based on Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) using eight main factors, namely; (1) NDVI; (2) TWI; (3) Land Use; (4) Rainfall; (5) Slopes; (6) Elevation; (7) Distance from Road; and (8) Distance from River. Then the probability results are formed into a flood risk map for the Bandung Regency area with validation carried out using the ROC curve. The results obtained are that there are four risk categories, including; (1) Low Risk; (2) Quite Risk; (3) High Risk; and (4) Extreme Risk. The Bandung Regency area near Bandung City has the most High Risk to Extreme Risk, while outside that area has an average of Low Risk to Quite Risk. In addition, the validation results by comparing the obtained maps with the flood maps that occurred in 2002–2022 obtained an average ROC curve percentage of 76.4%, and these results show that the flood risk hazard map for Bandung Regency is valid.

Abstract

Covid-19 is a pandemic that can change the culture of the learning process, which Covid-19 pandemic brought transformation and new habits, and these new habits had to be adjusted based on the rules and regulations that apply in the country. Globally, Covid-19 made educators have to quickly adapt to new teaching methods, and students faced difficulties with internet access, digital literacy, and maintaining motivation in a remote environment. However, around 2021, in quartile 3 to be precise, in Indonesia changes have occurred again to adapt to new habits, namely the post-Covid-19 recovery period, where the education system has again transformed from online learning habits to offline learning. This study aims to find out how interest in studying and learning outcomes affect undergraduate students of physics education in the post-COVID-19 era. The research method is carried out quantitatively, which consists of filling out a questionnaire for interest in studying which consists of five aspects; (1) Exploration; (2) Curiosity; (3) Boredom; (4) Attention; and (5) Enjoyment. This study used two groups namely pre covid-19 and post covid-19 with a total of 67 samples used, then processing of learning outcomes data prerequisite tests such as normality and homogeneity tests were carried out then hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test and Cohen's D Effect Size to know the how big the difference between two groups, then a deep interview is conducted to know deeply. This research found results in which undergraduate physics education students in the post-COVID-19 era experienced low interest in studying and learning outcomes due to the shock culture and the influence of student organizations which they thought were more interesting than academic activities.

Abstract

Misconceptions still often occur when learning physics, especially in conducting research that is not consistently detailed in identifying an observation. In parabolic motion material, it is known that 45° is a special angle that produces the farthest distance. The misconception that 45° is the angle that produces the farthest distance has become a reference in learning in various educational institutions to date. The aim of this research is to identify and prove that the 45° angle is not an elevation angle that produces the farthest distance in a vacuum that ignores the initial position of the thrower. This research was conducted using PhET virtual laboratory media which was analyzed based on quantitative and qualitative methods. This study will test the elevation angle of 42° : 45° : 48° based on altitude 0 m : 1 m : 2 m. After the observational data has been obtained and proven by the existing equations, the research results will be analyzed based on the functional analyzer approach by making the equations into function graphs to make it easier for readers to read the existing data. In this study, it was found that the angle of 42° is the producer of the farthest distance and also gets a relatively faster travel time compared to the angle of 45° which we know so far as a special angle that produces the farthest distance in non-vacuum conditions.

Abstract

Geoelectric is the method most often used to obtain subsurface images with the possibility of groundwater and minerals at a certain depth. Estimations by means of this method are based on the fact that different materials will have different types of resistance when electrified. The purpose of this research is to estimate the electrical properties of subsurface rock formations, especially their ability to generate electricity or inhibit electricity. The results showed that the tested area had soil geological conditions which were dominated by soil, sand and gravel in the surface area, whereas for 50 m depth it was dominated by sedimentary rocks accompanied by basalt rocks with little saline in the deepest layer. For large resistivity in the range of 3000 - 5000 Wm it indicates that the area has poor groundwater potential.
