Abstract

Songs are a form of oral literature capable of conveying messages through language and music. This study analyzes the meaning of the lyrics in Atuna Tufuli, popularized by Shirine, using Michael Riffaterre's semiotic theory of poetry. The research aims to uncover meaning through four key elements: displacing, distorting, and creating meaning; heuristic and hermeneutic reading; matrix; and model and hypogram. This descriptive-qualitative research employs a library study approach. The findings show that the lyrics convey complex expressions of love and longing through indirect expression. Heuristic and hermeneutic readings reveal restrained emotional expressions. The matrix emphasizes the desire of children in conflict areas to live in peace and freedom. The model and hypogram indicate intertextual connections with universal themes of longing for a normal childhood and peace-elements also found in classical Arabic poetry. These recurring themes evoke empathy and reflect a broader call for attention to children affected by war and violence.

Abstract

Abstract

Songs are one form of oral literature that has the power to convey messages through language and music. So the analysis of the meaning of the lyrics of the song Atuna Tufuli popularized by Shirine was carried out using Michael Riffaterre's semiotic analysis which focuses on the analysis of poetry (song lyrics). This study aims to find the meaning of the lyrics of the song Atuna Tufuli by describing namely (1) indirectness of expression, (2) heuristic and hermeneutic reading, (3) matrix, and (4) Model and hypogram (intertextual correlation). This study is a descriptive-qualitative type of research with a semiotic approach and the lyrics of the song Atuna Tufuli as its corpus. The design used in this study is a library study (Library Research). The results show that the lyrics of Atuna Tufuli by Remi Bandali utilize indirectness of expression to convey the complex meaning of love. (1) indirectness of expression includes: (a) Displacement of meaning. (b) distortion of meaning. (c) Creation of meaning. (2) Heuristic and Hermeneutic Readings describe the expression of suppressed feelings of love. (3) The matrix of these lyrics can be identified as "the desire of children in conflict areas to have freedom and a normal life". (4) Model and hypogram (intertextual correlation), the model can be various elements that are already known to the listener or reader, such as the theme of the desire to have freedom and a normal life, as well as the call for attention and assistance for children living in conflict and violence, the style of writing lyrics, and expressions of longing that can be found in works of art, literature, and music. The hypogram in the song "Atuna Tufuli" by Remi Bandali lies in the repetition of classical themes that emphasize the desire of children to have a normal childhood and peace, which are often found in ancient Arabic poetry.

Abstract

This study investigates user acceptance of Arabicapp based on morphosyntactic patterns. The application aims to support learners in recognizing verb forms and transitivity patterns, which are widely acknowledged as challenging aspects of Arabic grammar acquisition. To evaluate user acceptance, the study employed the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), examining five core constructs: Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Attitude Toward Use (ATU), Behavioural Intention (BI), and Actual Usage (AU). A quantitative survey was administered to a diverse group of participants, including university students, lecturers, and Arabic language practitioners. Data were collected through staged evaluations and analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression techniques. The results indicate consistently high levels of acceptance across all TAM constructs, with ease of use and behavioural intention receiving the highest mean scores. However, regression analysis reveals that Perceived Usefulness significantly predicts Behavioural Intention, whereas Perceived Ease of Use does not show a statistically significant effect. This finding suggests that perceived instructional value plays a more decisive role than interface simplicity in determining adoption of morphosyntactic learning tools. Overall, the findings demonstrate that Arabicapp effectively supports Arabic grammar learning, particularly in verb identification tasks, and shows strong potential for use in both formal and non-formal instructional contexts. The study contributes to TAM-based research in language technology by highlighting that, in cognitively demanding learning environments such as morphosyntax, perceived usefulness emerges as the primary driver of user adoption.

Abstract

In the Qur'an, changes in morphological patterns (wazan) not only produce grammatical variations, but also give birth to differences in meaning. One of the most productive roots in the Qur'an is the root [س-ل-م], which gives birth to various derivations. The word سلم is often interpreted in a limited way as "peace" or "Islam". This study aims to identify all derivations  of the root [س-ل-م], classify its morphological form, and analyze its core meaning and semantic development in the translation of the Qur'an of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive design with a morpho-semantic approach. Data were collected through a documentation technique by tracing all Qur'anic verses containing derivatives of the root, then analyzed through the stages of identification, morphological classification, determination of core meaning, and contextual analysis. The results showed that the root س-ل-م (s-l-m) appeared 140 times with 16 derivative forms, dominated by the nominal form (112 data) rather than the verbal (28 data). Semantically, these roots form a network of meanings that include existential salvation, spiritual surrender, theological systems (Islam), collective identity (Muslim), social peace, and cosmic surrender. This study confirms that the concept of salvation in the Qur'an is multidimensional and linguistically structured.
