Abstract

Mitra dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah guru-guru SMAN 17 Lamuru, Kabupaten Bone, yang berjumlah 25 orang. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra meliputi (1) Kurangnya pengetahuan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi untuk mengakses sumber dan bahan ajar, (2) Kurangnya keterampilan dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis teknologi, dan (3) variasi proses pembelajaran yang masih terbatas. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, solusi yang disepakati adalah (1) pelatihan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi, (2) pelatihan dan pendampingan pengembangan modul ajar elektronik, dan (3) implementasi pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan modul ajar elektronik. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui metode pendampingan berupa ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi, brainstorming, demonstrasi, dan praktik kerja. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan peningkatan keberdayaan Mitra dalam dua aspek, yaitu pengetahuan teknologi informasi dan keterampilan pengembangan modul ajar elektronik. Pada aspek pengetahuan teknologi informasi, peningkatan terjadi dalam rentang 26% hingga 32%, yang mencerminkan keberhasilan pelatihan dalam memperkuat kemampuan guru untuk mengakses dan memanfaatkan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Pada aspek keterampilan pengembangan modul ajar elektronik, peningkatan berkisar antara 27% hingga 33%, menunjukkan efektivitas pelatihan dalam membekali guru dengan keterampilan yang relevan untuk menciptakan modul ajar yang interaktif. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian berhasil memberdayakan guru-guru di SMAN 17 Lamuru, sehingga mereka lebih siap menghadapi tuntutan pembelajaran modern.

Abstract

Latar Belakang. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan penguasaan kosakata mayoritas siswa di MTs DDI Walimpong yang masih rendah dikarenakan perbedaan latar belakang pendidikan siswa, serta penggunaan fasilitas pembelajaran yang belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Hal ini merupakan salah satu masalah terbesar dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di MTs DDI Walimpong. Tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan media aplikasi “Bahasa Arab Pemula” dalam pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Arab dan menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media aplikasi “Bahasa Arab Pemula” dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas VIII MTs DDI Walimpong. Metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan teknik analisis kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi dan tes (pretest dan posttest). Data telah dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VIII mengalami peningkatan kosakata setelah menggunakan aplikasi “Bahasa Arab Pemula” dalam pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Arab. Hal ini dibuktikan pada hasil uji paired sampel t-test pada nilai pretest dan posttest siswa kelas VIII di MTs DDI Walimpong yakni nilai Sig.(2-tailed) = 0,001 < 0,05. Dengan demikian, Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Kesimpulan. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari penggunaan aplikasi “Bahasa Arab Pemula” dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab siswa di MTs DDI Walimpong.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik Lontara pada aplikasi online sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif bagi guru mata pelajaran muatan lokal Bahasa Daerah di Kabupaten Maros. Lontara, sebagai aksara tradisional khas suku Bugis-Makassar, memiliki potensi besar untuk dilestarikan melalui integrasi teknologi modern. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi online yang dirancang dengan menggunakan aksara Lontara memiliki keunikan dalam aspek visual dan fitur interaktif, seperti latihan pengenalan huruf, permainan edukatif, dan evaluasi pembelajaran berbasis digital. Selain itu, aplikasi ini mampu meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar siswa, sekaligus memudahkan guru dalam mengajarkan materi Bahasa Daerah. Pemanfaatan teknologi ini juga memberikan solusi terhadap tantangan dalam pelestarian budaya lokal di era digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi Lontara dalam aplikasi pembelajaran online dapat menjadi inovasi yang efektif dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran muatan lokal, serta mendorong pelestarian budaya dan literasi digital di kalangan pendidik dan siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the meaning of metaphor in the song lyrics on the album "Monokrom" produced by Tulus Company in 2016 using the conceptual metaphor approach proposed by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson. Conceptual metaphors are an important tool in understanding how humans process experience and understand the world through language. This research is descriptive qualitative research using note-taking techniques. The data source for this research is the song lyrics in the Monokrom album produced by Tulus Company. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman qualitative data analysis technique, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The song lyrics in the album "Monochrome" are analyzed to identify and interpret the metaphors contained therein. The data obtained was then categorized based on the types of conceptual metaphors according to Lakoff and Johnson's theory. The research results show that the album uses many types of metaphors to convey messages and emotions in the songs, such as structural, orientational and ontological metaphors. Based on the research results obtained, the use of metaphor in the lyrics of this song provides depth of meaning and enriches the listener's aesthetic experience and also contributes to linguistic studies, especially in understanding the context that figurative language can be used in song lyrics to convey complex and emotional meaning.

Abstract

This community service programme aims to improve teachers' understanding and skills in managing interactive learning media to increase student engagement in the learning process at SMAN 17 Lamuru, Bone Regency. Based on the results of the need assessment and situation analysis, it was found that the partners experienced several problems, including the lack of teacher understanding of information technology, the low ability of teachers to implement online learning, and the lack of knowledge about interactive learning media. This activity was attended by 25 participants and was carried out using various methods, such as lectures, questions and answers, discussions, brainstorming, demonstrations, and direct practice of online-based interactive learning media management. The materials provided were arranged in accordance with the objectives of the mentoring, and supported by instruments such as mentoring modules, observation sheets, participant satisfaction questionnaires, activity documentation, and other technical equipment. The main target of this programme is intangible, namely the realisation of mentoring participants who are able to understand the concept and create electronic modules for interactive learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan mengkaji aspek ekokritik dalam novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar karya Tere Liye. Fokus utama penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis delapan aspek ekokritik menurut Greg Garrard. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi, baca, dan catat terhadap kutipan langsung, narasi, dan dialog yang relevan dalam teks novel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh aspek ekokritik Garrard ditemukan dalam novel, dengan rincian: pencemaran/polusi (12 data), posisi (10), gembala (30), hutan belantara (7), bencana (14), tempat tinggal (13), binatang (6), dan bumi (8). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa novel tidak hanya menjadi media ekspresi estetis, tetapi juga sarana edukatif dalam menyuarakan isu lingkungan dan membangun kesadaran ekologis. Studi ini merekomendasikan integrasi kajian sastra berbasis ekokritik dalam kurikulum pendidikan sebagai upaya menumbuhkan karakter peduli lingkungan dan tanggung jawab moral terhadap keberlanjutan bumi.

Abstract

This article discussed the role of technology in the learning process, especially in Arabic language teaching at MTsN 1 Makassar City. Teachers are faced with the challenge of improving students' ability to master vocabulary which conventional methods are often less interesting. This research proposes using visual media, such as digital comics, to make the learning process more interesting and effective. Digital comics are considered as media that can increase students' motivation and understanding and have been proven effective in increasing students' interest and understanding, especially in learning vocabulary. Research and Development (R&D) method was used in this research with the Four-D model which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research was conducted at MTsN 1 Makassar City, with subjects consisting of two media experts, four material experts, and twenty-seven students of grades VII, VIII, and IX. The results showed that Arabic digital comics have a very good level of feasibility based on the responses of media experts, material experts, and students, with an average score percentage of 90.66% from the media aspect, 91.5% from the material aspect, and 78.07% from student responses. Visual media such as digital comics can attract students' interest, increase learning motivation, and help them understand Arabic vocabulary better. It is expected that this research can be a reference in developing innovative and effective language-learning media in the future.

Abstract

This study investigates the semiotic construction of boycott messages against pro-Israel products on the Instagram account @bdsarabic, situated within the broader discourse of digital activism in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As social media platforms increasingly serve as tools of resistance, the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement strategically utilizes Instagram to disseminate political messages. This study aims to explore how visual and textual elements work together to construct symbolic meanings that influence public sentiment and mobilization. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the research applies Charles Sanders Peirce’s triadic model of semiotics—comprising representamen, object, and interpretant—to analyze three selected campaign visuals targeting Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Carrefour. The findings reveal that Arabic texts function not merely as linguistic signs but also as cultural codes that evoke moral and emotional responses. Meanwhile, modified brand logos act as visual arguments, transforming familiar corporate symbols into representations of violence and injustice. The study concludes that such multimodal constructions serve as rhetorical tools to align everyday consumption with ideological resistance. This research contributes to the understanding of how digital platforms, particularly in Arabic-language activist spaces, function as discursive arenas for contesting hegemony and constructing counter-narratives. The findings also offer insights into the role of semiotics in digital communication and the potential of social media as a catalyst for collective consciousness.

Abstract

This study examines how Islamic educational values are integrated into the Kampus Mengajar Program at elementary schools in Makassar and how this integration contributes to students’ character development in the face of global and moral challenges. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis in five elementary schools participating in the program across Makassar. The research involved 12 informants, including Kampus Mengajar participants from Universitas Hasanuddin and the elementary school teachers they collaborated. The collected data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study found that integrating Islamic educational values, such as Tauhid, akhlak, ibadah, and muamalah, into classroom activities significantly enhanced students' character development, particularly regarding honesty, responsibility, and tolerance. These values were instilled through religious rituals, community projects, and everyday interactions. The program also fostered students' awareness of environmental ethics and social empathy. The findings suggest that Kampus Mengajar is an effective vehicle for character education aligned with Islamic values. It is recommended that future implementations provide structured training for participants on Islamic educational integration. Further research could examine the long-term behavioral impacts on students and the institutional sustainability of such value-based educational programs.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Snakes and Ladders-based learning media in improving students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary. Traditional methods like textbooks and static visual aids often fail to engage students actively and ensure consistent vocabulary retention. To address this, the study applied a pre-experimental design with a quantitative approach, using a one-group pretest-post-test format. The intervention involved a life-sized Snakes and Ladders board placed on the classroom floor, where students physically moved as game pieces and answered vocabulary prompts at each square—this setup aimed to provide an interactive learning experience, reinforcing vocabulary through repetition and contextual application. The study involved 18 fourth-grade students, with an initial average pretest score of 71.61, which increased to 94.11 in the Post-test, showing an improvement of 22.50 points. A paired t-test revealed a statistically significant improvement (t(17) = -12.144, p < 0.001), with Cohen's d = 3.79, indicating a substantial impact. These results demonstrate that Snakes and Ladders game-based learning can significantly enhance vocabulary acquisition. Incorporating physical movement, peer interaction, and visual stimuli is vital in reinforcing vocabulary retention, offering a promising alternative teaching method to support Arabic language learning at the elementary level.
