Abstract

Infections can occur anywhere and often occur usually sourced from hospitals. Nosocomial infection is an infection caused by various microorganisms, one of which is bacteria originating from the hospital environment. Gram-negative bacteria, especially the Enterobacteriaceae family, are the main bacteria that cause nosocomial infections. One of the common infectious diseases in health care is urinary tract infection and some UTIs are caused by catheter insertion. This research aimed to identify gram-negative bacteria in the urine of catheterized patients at RSUD Dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie, a referral hospital in Ternate. The research method is descriptive observational with a cross sectional approach using a total sampling technique obtained 83 samples from November 14, 2023 to December 17, 2023. The results showed that 7 samples (8.4%) were identified as positive for gram-negative bacteria with 7 types of bacterial species and the highest percentage of bacteria was Escherichia coli (33.4%). Abstract

Clean water distribution machines are very important for local drinking water companies to be able to supply clean water to customers. The need for water continues to increase, so an analysis is needed to determine the decline in engine pump performance in the production process. Maintenance activities need to be carried out to maintain the reliability (realiability) of the machine so that it can operate properly. Therefore, a good strategy is needed to maintain the continuity of the production process. The purpose of this research is to measure the performance of the water distribution pump machine / equipment associated with the low level of clean water production, to identify the losses experienced by the company. The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value obtained before repairs were carried out in November 2019 for Lapi I was 69.38% and Lapi II was 69. 75% while in December 2019 for Lapi I it was 74.02% and Lapi II was 73.65% still below the JIPM standard, namely ≥85%. From the results of the six big losses, the clean water distribution pump machine as a whole still needs evaluation to make improvements in increasing effectiveness and productivity, especially in the problem of redeuced speed losses so that suggestions can be made to improve the clean water distribution machine. After repairs in January 2020 for Lapi I was 87.90% and Lapi II was 87.26% while in February 2020 for Lapi I it was 90.34% and Lapi II was 85.81%. Abstract

Based on the problem formulation in this research, the goal that can be formulated in this research is to be able to distribute products using optimal distribution routes and minimize transportation costs at PT. Unilever Indonesia Makassar Depot. This research uses the Nearest Neighbor method approach to determine the shortest route so that the distribution path can be done optimally. Optimal means the amount of goods sent, delivery time, and the distance required is right, in this case there are many routes. Based on calculations carried out in completing the CVRP using the Nearest Neighbor method, the total distance traveled was 1,940.2 km. Meanwhile, the company's current total mileage is 2,348 km. This shows that the Nearest Neighbor method is effective in determining the distribution route for Sariwangi Tea at PT. Unilever Indonesia Makassar Depot.  This research focuses on the distribution of goods from the company's depot (warehouse) to its customers. Delivery of goods involves services provided by the company within a predetermined time period to a number of customers using certain vehicles where the depot location can be at one or more locations. The results of this research provide input for future deliveries. It is hoped that companies can use new distribution routes using the Nearest Neighbor method, so that delivery costs can be controlled by using shorter or closest delivery routes and the costs are optimal. PT Unilever Indonesia is a subsidiary of Unilever which was founded in 1933. Having produced many well-known products, PT Unilever Indonesia is one of the large companies that contributes to meeting various community needs. As a company operating in the distribution sector, determining delivery routes is very important to consider time efficiency and minimize transportation costs.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effect of board characteristics—gender diversity, cultural background, expertise, and experience—on firm value, with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance serving as an intervening variable. The research focuses on publicly listed companies across five European Union countries: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. Methodology/Approach: A quantitative approach was applied using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The sample was drawn through purposive sampling, targeting firms that disclosed ESG scores and provided comprehensive data on board composition. Results/Findings: The findings indicate that only gender diversity within boards has a significant and positive effect on ESG performance. Other characteristics—cultural background, expertise, and experience—did not show significant impacts. Additionally, ESG performance itself was not found to have a significant influence on firm value. Similarly, board characteristics did not directly affect firm value in this study. Conclusions: The results suggest that while gender diversity may strengthen ESG-related outcomes, this does not necessarily translate into higher firm value within the observed context. This highlights a gap between ESG initiatives and tangible financial performance. The findings underscore the importance of effective governance practices that integrate ESG into broader corporate strategies rather than relying solely on board diversity. Limitations: This study is limited to five EU countries and a single observation period, restricting the generalizability of the results. Contribution: The study contributes to corporate governance literature by clarifying which board attributes improve ESG performance under EU gender quota regulations and offering insight into why diversity alone may not directly increase firm value.
