Abstract

Abstract

This research evaluates the outcomes of efforts to enhance collaborative abilities following the adoption of a digital board-based interactive learning approach. The study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR), which encompasses four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Conducted across two cycles—Cycle I and Cycle II—it uses the pre-cycle stage as a baseline and initial reference point. The participants comprised 31 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 4 Madiun, including 16 boys and 15 girls. The research followed the procedural framework of the Kemmis and McTaggart model over the two cycles. Data were collected through observation activities involving students, utilizing instruments such as test question observation sheets. The findings revealed an improvement in collaboration skills following the introduction of the digital board-based interactive learning model. In Cycle I, students' collaboration skills rose to 73.54%. In Cycle II, these skills further improved to 87.35%. These results indicate that the digital board-based interactive learning approach effectively enhances students' teamwork abilities and educational achievements. Therefore, this study can be a recommendation and become an alternative choice for teachers to implement and improve the quality of learning in the classroom

Abstract

Introduction: Children with intellectual disabilities face a high risk of sexual harassment, yet self-protection interventions for this population remain limited and tend to be reactive. National policies and reproductive health modules are available, implementation gaps at the operational level persist; therefore, teachers require structured pedagogical support to effectively deliver self-protection materials. Methods: These qualitative needs assessment study was conducted in five special education schools for children with intellectual disabilities (SLB-C) in Bandung, Indonesia. Data were collected from 11 teachers and 5 principals through focus group discussion and in-depth interviews. This study explored experiences, current practices, systemic barriers, and the specific requirements for sexual harassment protection education. Data were transcribed verbatim and evaluated using thematic content analysis. Results: The findings were classified into three main themes. First, factors shaping educational needs highlighted that the urgency of education is often hindered by a lack of institutional support and parental denial regarding children's vulnerability. Second, current practices and implementation gaps revealed that current education remains situational and is impeded by students' limited working memory and unsupervised gadget exposure. Third, design requirements for education formulated design specifications emphasizing that educational methods must be collaborative and gradually repeated (spaced repetition). The required learning media must be simple, concrete, visual, interactive, and multisensory. Conclusion: Sexual harassment protection education for children with intellectual disabilities requires an integrated collaborative approach involving students, teachers, parents, and school institutions. The availability of multisensory media and structured modules is essential to accommodate children's cognitive limitations, simultaneously serving as a pedagogical instrument that enables teachers to deliver protection instruction in a directed and consistent manner that synergizes with the family environment.

Abstract

Postpartum family planning coverage in Central Java is below the national standard, or it only reached 26.8%. Postpartum mothers are at risk of getting pregnant if they do not use contraception. Modern contraceptives prevent 3.2 million of 5.6 million under-five deaths and 109,000 of 155,000 (70%) maternal deaths. Continuity of Midwifery Care during the extended postpartum period encourages mothers to use modern contraception to manage the pregnancy gap. This study aimed to explore midwifery services for Family Planning Postpartum from the perspective of providers and clients in three health facilities: hospitals (RS), Public Health Centers, and Independent Midwifery Practice (PMB). The research was implemented through a qualitative descriptive, a case study approach design in 2021. informants were ten postpartum mothers, nine midwives, two heads of Puskesmas, head division of Family Planning, Women and Children Empowerment (KBPPA) conducted an in-depth interview. The interviews were digitally recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method. Providers and clients identified several benefits of Postpartum Family Planning (KBPP). Midwives stated several obstacles in providing services, such as limited counseling time during labor and lack of support from hospital management. The competence of midwives constrained KBPP services at the Puskesmas. There were still few midwives at the Puskesmas certified to provide Long Term Contraception Method services. Midwives were also overloaded with work during the pandemic. Obstacles in the Independent Midwifery Practice were the lack of IMP with clinical networks and the limited authority of the midwife. Meanwhile, postpartum mothers' barriers included lack of knowledge about fertility and KBPP, worry about side effects, and the husband's lack of support. Therefore, optimizing the referral mechanism for long-term contraception in advanced health facilities is necessary. Continuity of care midwives and integration of services will increase coverage of postpartum contraception.
