Abstract

During elementary school age children who are experiencing developments in the level of thinking definitely need a stimulus to better understand a material, one of which is in learning mathematics. Understanding of mathematical concepts is one of the most important things in the learning process, especially in the matter of addition and subtraction of integers. The purpose of this study was to improve students' learning outcomes in mathematics by using number rule media in grade 4 elementary schools in Tasikmalaya. The research method used is Classroom Action Research, data collection is done through tests, observation, documentation, interviews. The subjects in this study were 12 male students and 11 female students. The results of this study stated that learning mathematics by using a number ruler media can improve student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the pre-cycle research, cycle I and cycle II, student learning completeness in the pre-cycle reached 17.39% and experienced an increase in cycle I by 26.31% to 65.21% then in cycle II it increased again by 30.44%. to 95.65%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of students in Social Science subjects through the use of differentiated learning strategies on economic activity material. This research is a Classroom Action (PTK) research which is divided into two cycles and begins with a precycle. Each cycle consists of planning, execution, observation and reflection. Research instruments used in this study are teacher activities, student activities, observation of Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) and learning outcomes tests. The data is analyzed descriptively. The criterion for successful action is if 75% of students reach KKM 75. The results of the research show that there is an increase in teacher activity from cycle I to cycle II with a level of 82.5% in cycle I and 90% in cycle II. Student learning activity was 80% in cycle 1 and 92.5 in cycle II. From the data on student learning outcomes, it was found that learning completeness was 67.3% in cycle I and 78.5% in cycle II. From the research data, the average value of students' learning outcomes using differentiated learning strategies from pre-action to cycle II obtained a significant mastery of learning outcomes, namely 42.8%, so it was concluded that the use of differentiated learning strategies influenced learning outcomes. students in class IV social studies subjects at SDN 2 Cikalang, Tawang District, Tasikmalaya City

Abstract

The background to this research is the low learning outcomes of students in mathematics lessons in class III at SDN 2 Setiamulya. The aim of this research is to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes by using fraction puzzle media in grade 3 elementary schools in Tasikmalaya. The research method used is Classroom Action Research according to the Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart which consists of planning, action, observation, reflection in each cycle. The subjects in this research were 10 male students and 12 female students. The results of this research state that learning mathematics using fraction puzzle media can improve student learning outcomes. Based on the results of pre-cycle research, cycle I, cycle II, pre-cycle students' learning completeness obtained an average of 40 with a percentage of 31.82% in the very low category and experienced an increase in cycle I, obtaining an average score of 65.18 with a percentage of 59.05%. the poor category then in cycle II obtained an average score of 86.36 with a percentage of 95.45% in the very good category.

Abstract

Effective education in this context involves preparing students to explore and apply mathematical knowledge in various situations, providing a strong foundation for the development of intelligence and thinking skills. This research focuses on the challenges faced by 4th-grade students at SDN 4 Sukajaya in solving word problems related to multiplication of whole numbers. The object of this study is the students' difficulty in understanding the concept of multiplication, while the subjects are 10 students who experience difficulties and a class teacher. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, aiming to provide a detailed account of the problems faced by students. The study found learning obstacles among 4th-grade students at SDN 4 Sukajaya in solving word problems involving the concept of multiplication of whole numbers. These obstacles include: 1) difficulty in understanding the problems, 2) difficulty in identifying mathematical concepts, and 3) difficulty in calculations. The contributing factors are: 1) internal factors, such as motivation, intelligence, behavior, attitude, and students' physical condition (e.g., fatigue), and 2) external factors, such as facilities, teacher quality, and curriculum. Efforts to address these obstacles include: regular problem-solving practice, the use of varied and enjoyable teaching methods and media to boost motivation, and cooperation between teachers and students in monitoring learning progress

Abstract

Problem solving ability is one of the important skills in mathematics learning, especially in solving story problems on mixed fractions. The results of initial observations in grade V of SDN Sukarindik showed that students' problem solving abilities were still low, with only 33.33% of students achieving the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study aims to improve students' problem solving abilities through the use of fraction puzzle media in mathematics learning. The method used was the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis and McTaggart which was implemented in two cycles. Data collection instruments were tests, observations, and documentation. The results of the study showed a significant increase. The average student score increased by 36.91 points, namely from 46.42 (very poor category) in the initial ability test stage to 83.33 (good category) in cycle II. Learning completeness also increased by 57.14%, from 33.33% (very poor category) to 90.47% (very good category). Student activity in learning increased by 8%, from 80% to 88% (very good category). Teachers' ability in lesson planning also showed a 2.18% increase, from 96.73% to 98.91% (very good category). Thus, the use of puzzles has been proven to improve students' problem-solving skills in mixed fractions, as well as creating active, meaningful, and well-planned learning.
