Abstract

Dental health is inextricably linked to overall wellness. One of the primary determinants of oral and dental health in poor nations is the behavioral component of dental hygiene, specifically brushing practice. The purpose of this study is to ascertain teeth brushing behavior and the factors that influence it in sixth-grade elementary school children in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta. The study employed a cross-sectional design with a total sample size of 190 students. The data were gathered using an interview and a questionnaire. The findings indicated that up to 82.6 percent of sixth-grade kids engaged in inappropriate brushing behavior. Statistical analysis revealed a significant association between students' knowledge of the time and frequency of toothbrushing and their brushing behavior (p-value = 0.046). It is proposed that the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia adopt policies to support the development of dental health programs in school dental health services, particularly in the cognitive domain, attitudes, and behaviors of students who are concerned about their oral health.

Abstract

The low use of long-term contraceptive methods, especially in postpartum mothers, is caused by various factors. Postpartum family planning is a family planning service that is given after giving birth for up to 6 weeks, carried out in health care facilities carried out by professional health workers, namely specialist doctors, general practitioners and midwives. Efforts to improve family planning services, especially postpartum, are considered the right strategy because the coverage of ANC services and delivery coverage by health workers is quite high. Policies regarding family planning lead to the use of long-term contraceptive methods. This study discusses the relationship between age, family planning decision making and family planning information with the use of long-term contraceptive methods in postpartum women in Indonesia by analyzing secondary data from the 2017 IDHS. This study is a quantitative study. Cross sectional research design, with univariate and bivariate analysis. The sample in this study were women of childbearing age postpartum in Indonesia. The results of the study were that most of the respondents used the Non long-term contraceptive methods method, namely 80.2%. Most of the respondents are 15-34 years old; most of the respondents make decisions on the use of shared family planning and most of the respondents get family planning information from non-health workers. There is a relationship between age, family planning decision makers and sources of family planning information and the use  of long-term contraceptive methods in postpartum mothers in Indonesia. The need for postpartum family planning counseling that involves the husband using easy-to-understand media. Increased knowledge about family planning in postpartum mothers through IEC is expected to be better so that it will affect the increase in the number of postpartum long-term contraceptive methods use

Abstract

Background: The process of growth and development of neonates requires a sensory-motor stimulus, one of which is the ability of parents. In total, neonates still depend on the environment, especially the family as the first environment in their lives. Touch is one of the stimulation sensations in neonates that can be done at birth by parents or family.Baby Gym can stimulate and optimize baby's growth and development from an early age. Neonatal period has four aspects of development, namely, gross motor, fine motor, personal social, and language. Baby Gym can be done by parents or those closest to the baby, but it should be done by the mother, because the baby is used to the touch his mother does. Objective: This study aims to determine the baby's motor development through the baby gym application. Methods: This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest design with a control group design. The population taken in this study were mothers who had babies aged 3-12 months at the Puskesmas in the South Tangerang City area. The sample size for this study were 31 respondents in the intervention and control groups, so that the total sample was 62 people. The sampling technique in this study used the purposive sampling method. Data analysis using Wilcoxon and Man Whitney test and multivariate analysis using multivariate multiple logistic regression.Research Results: The Wilcoxon statistical test value showed that there was a significant difference in the average motor development before and after the baby gym application intervention was given to the mother (p value = 0.000). The results of the analysis using Mann Whitney found that there was a significant effect of using the baby gym application on the motor development of infants in the intervention group compared to the control group with p = 0.000 (p < 0.005).Conclusion: there is an effect of using the baby gym application on the baby's motor development. So as to provide recommendations for the use of the Baby gym application to help stimulate the development of the baby and also to establish affection between mother and baby.

Abstract

The study of balance in the elderly is a serious concern. Even the main goal of rehabilitation for elderly people who have fallen is to improve balance. The need for a simple, fast, and accurate balance-checking tool is expected to help the elderly rehabilitation program. The purpose of this research is to produce Assistive Technology in fulfilling ADL to reach the SMART elderly. Research Methods This type of research is a cross-sectional study with observational (survey). Observation of balance in the elderly with two measuring devices, namely balance and walking speed. This research was conducted at the Tresna Werda Nursing Home Jakarta in August 2022. The number of residents of the Tresna Werda Jakarta Nursing Home who participated in the inclusion and exclusion criteria selection was 30 people consisting of 10 (35%) men and 30 ( 65 %) females. The elderly who have fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria become research subjects. In this study of the elderly using the I Care Stick, the results were better than the ordinary stick with a significance of 0.001. The average speed of respondents walking using the I Care Stick was 28.47 seconds and the normal walking stick was 31.87 seconds. In this study, it was found that the balance of the elderly who used the I Care Stick was more stable than the elderly who walked using a regular cane with a significance of 0.001, with the average slope that occurred on the I Care Stick at 21.13 seconds and the regular cane at 10.53. The elderly who used the I Care Cane significantly (p-value: 0.001) seemed to walk better than the regular cane with an average speed of 34.70 seconds, while the average speed of the cane was 42.80 seconds. The balance of the elderly who uses the I Care Cane is very significant compared to the elderly who walks using a regular cane.
