Abstract

Short birth length in children indicates a lack of nutrients consumed by the mother during pregnancy, so that fetal growth is not optimal and results in short birth length. Research Objective: to determine the effect of consumption of crispy biscuits of tuna fish bone meal on height growth in children aged 12-48 months. Quasy experimental design with pre-test-post test design using paired t-test. The results of the proximate test of crispy biscuits of tuna fish bone meal moisture content 4.41%, ash content 11.19%, carbohydrate content 47.64%, protein content 6.40%, fat content 30.36%, calcium content 7038. 70 mg/kg, phosphorus 0.91 mg/kg, potassium 2700.93 mg/kg, iron 60.73 mg/kg. The average height of children in the intervention group d crispy biscuits of tuna fish bone flour pre test 78.43 cm and post test 80.17 cm with a difference of 1.74 cm, control group pre test 88.84 cm and post test 89.84 cm with a difference of 1.01 cm. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the pre-test-post test of giving crispy biscuits of tuna fish bone meal on children's height (p = 0.03 <0.05). The conclusion is that giving crispy biscuits with tuna fish bone meal can increase height in children

Abstract

Introduction: Based on its type, salt consists of; industrial salt, curing salt, table salt, and consumption salt. Consumable salt can be used as an alternative material in the flotation method. It has been proven in previous research (2021) that salt consumption can cause intestinal nematode eggs to float. The concentration used in the research was 32%. The aim is to find out the fastest time for the brand of salt consumed in the intestinal nematode egg flotation process. Method: This research is an experimental laboratory research, using samples of consumption salt with a concentration of 32%, adding a suspension of intestinal nematode worm eggs, then observing the flotation. Results; There is no time difference between JPL and BTM brands of salt because consuming both types of salt from the first 10 minutes of the experiment can cause flotation until the last minute of the experiment, namely the 40th minute, still causes flotation. Conclusion ; The results of the experiment guarantee that the two types (brands) of salt consumed are; JPL and BTM with a concentration of 32% can both cause intestinal nematode eggs to float, starting from the first 10 minutes to 40 minutes

Abstract

Riskesdas 2018 show that the largest percentage of dental problems in Indonesia is dental caries (45.3%). The provision of dental health services in school is carried out through UKGS. Counseling method and tooth brushing demonstrations to promote dental health are routinely carried out for elementary school students. This method is used to change the behavior of maintaining dental health by brushing teeth properly and correctly. With current technological developments, the use of Android is common in learning activities. Android applications can be media that is favored by children. The educational program named "E-Book Dental and Oral Health Maintain" with an Android application is an innovative way to increase the behavior of maintaining dental and oral hygiene in children. The research objective was to determine the effect of e-book program with an Android application on the maintenance of dental health in children, as well as the role of parents. The sample consisted of 100 students of 5th grade elementary school. The increase of knowledge and the role of parents in improving dental health was significantly different between before and after the intervention, where p-value = 0.001. Research concluded that the knowledge and parents’ role is important in improving children's dental health.

Abstract

Background: A transtibial prosthesis restores mobility and functionality for individuals with below-knee amputations, with the socket serving as a vital interface between the residual limb and the prosthesis. In Indonesia, prosthetic sockets are commonly made from plastic, valued for strength and durability but criticized for non-sustainability, and high import costs. Locally sourced and cost-effective materials, such as pineapple leaf fiber, have gained attention as sustainable alternatives, offering lightweight and durable solutions. However, the natural fiber’s appearance may impact amputee satisfaction. Combining pineapple leaf fibers with polyester fabric could address these limitations by improving aesthetics without compromising functionality. Aims: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a transtibial prosthetic socket fabricated from pineapple leaf fibers and polyester fabric, focusing on accessibility, affordability, and enhanced usability for Indonesian amputees. Methods: The study used a quantitative experimental design that included creating composite materials with specific ratios of pineapple leaf fiber, epoxy resin, and polyester fabrics and fabricating transtibial prosthetic sockets using the lamination method. The socket was fitted to a transtibial amputee to ensure proper alignment and function. Over six weeks, the participant used the prosthesis in daily activities while data was collected on comfort, durability, and walking performance, along with feedback through interviews and questionnaires. Results: Amputee demonstrated improved mobility in daily activities, with slight endurance limitations during extended walking. Satisfaction was high regarding comfort, fit, aesthetics, and reliability. Conclusion: The composite material is a viable alternative for transtibial sockets, promoting sustainability and accessibility. Refinements for endurance and broader applications of natural fibers are recommended.
