Abstract

Inclusive education has emerged as a critical initiative in promoting equitable learning opportunities for all students, including those with special needs. One of the central challenges in implementing inclusive education lies in identifying and supporting slow learners, particularly in mathematics, where learning difficulties often remain undetected or are misdiagnosed. This study investigates the awareness, experiences and support needs of senior secondary school (SMA/MA/SMK) mathematics teachers in Indonesia regarding inclusive education. The focus of the research is to discover and address the needs of slow learners. A survey was conducted of 173 mathematics teachers from various regions across the country to find out what they know about inclusive education, how they interact with students with special needs, and methods for identifying students who are slow learners in the classroom. The results show that although many teachers understand the importance of inclusive education, formal programs for inclusive education are still limited in many schools. Most teachers can identify various difficulties that students may face. Teachers also say that diagnostic tools are needed to help identify students who are experiencing math difficulties. They emphasized that relying on subjective observations without adequate resources is a very difficult problem. This study shows that the development of specific diagnostic tools is essential to support and identify slow learners early on. In line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), which aims to ensure that all students receive an equitable and inclusive education, regardless of their difficulties, this research supports the broader goal of achieving equitable quality education. To support inclusive education, raising awareness, increasing access to diagnostic tools, and targeted pedagogical support are all important steps. This is especially true for teaching mathematics.

Abstract

The high epidemiological burden of dengue fever in Tangerang Regency, a densely populated lowland area in Banten, provided the background for this study. Its primary objective was to describe climate fluctuations and analyze the partial relationships between temperature, humidity, and rainfall and dengue fever cases using secondary data from 2020 to 2024. The method combines physical descriptive analysis and Spearman’s rank correlation test. Visualization results show an optimal physical equilibrium in 2024 that triggered the highest spike in cases (5,088). Temperature showed a weak negative correlation (–0.300), humidity a strong positive correlation (0.600), and rainfall a very strong positive correlation (0.700), although sample limitations resulted in formal non-significance (p > 0.05). Physically, rainfall provides breeding sites for larvae, while humidity extends the lifespan of the vector; however, extreme rainfall triggers a mechanical flushing effect. These findings emphasize the need for public health agencies to incorporate rainfall and humidity indicators into early warning systems to strengthen preventive mitigation measures ahead of the peak of the transmission season.

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Game-Based Learning (GBL) into physical education (PE) in Indonesia as an innovative pedagogical approach to enhance student engagement, motivation, and awareness of healthy lifestyles. GBL goes beyond standard teaching approaches by encouraging creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities that are important for future difficulties. A quasi-experimental design was used with students from high schools who were split into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group took part in physical education classes that included GBL techniques, whereas the control group received traditional teaching. Information was gathered through questionnaires about motivation and classroom observations. The quantitative data was evaluated using statistical comparison methods, while the observational results were utilized to enhance the understanding of student actions and involvement. The results showed that students in the GBL group exhibited greater motivation, engagement, and active involvement compared to those in the control group. Classroom observations showed increased collaboration, enthusiasm, and involvement in learning activities among students exposed to GBL. Furthermore, students in the experimental group reported greater awareness of the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices. The integration of GBL in PE positively influenced student motivation, engagement, and health-related awareness. Although its implementation requires careful planning, adequate resources, and institutional support, GBL offers a promising approach for improving learning experiences and promoting holistic student development in Indonesian physical education settings
