Abstract

Pine resin is one of the demanded products to have proceeded into gondorukem. Gondorukem from Indonesia has a competitive advantage compared to other countries because it is stickier, heat resistant, and has a distinctive aroma so its exports are attractive to other countries. Ensuring the quality and quantity of gondorukem requires a smooth pine resin supply chain. This study aims to determine risk events and risk agents in the supply chain of pine resin that inhibit production, and design strategies to reduce the chance of emerging risks. House of Risk (HOR) is used to determine and apply the priority of risk agents and preventive actions. The study identified a total of 15 risk events and 30 risk agents that affect the quality and quantity of pine resin. Eighteen risk agents are prioritized, three of which are weather conditions, tapping personnel, and tree conditions for designing preventive actions. There are 3 priority preventive actions to handle the risk agent, namely (i) improving and controlling the quality of pine resin from the beginning process, (ii) giving a performance-based incentive and special tariff for a local tapper, and (iii) applying a resin tapping system with biogemme program.

Abstract

Livestock products are an important commodity in Indonesia. Broiler chickens are one of the main consumption commodities in the community. The high demand for broiler chickens needs to be accompanied by supervision of product quality. Product quality control is one of them is the management of poultry disease risk. The research objective is to determine the behavior of breeders and traders in mitigating the spread of poultry disease. This study was conducted by mapping the supply chain of live broiler chickens to find out the distribution channel, analyzing the behavior of breeders and traders to determine optimal disease mitigation, and multiple linear regression analysis to determine the causes of death. Research locations were conducted in four regions, namely Ciamis Regency, Tasikmalaya Regency, Subang Regency, and Sukabumi Regency. The results of the study show that the supply chain of broiler chickens is different for each region. The longer the distribution channel, the higher the risk of spreading the disease. breeders and traders generally know poultry diseases and the symptoms of chickens infected with the disease. Knowledge of breeders and traders about bird flu symptoms that are better proven to reduce the risk of death of broiler chickens during handling. More than 64% breeders chose to separate sick chickens form healthy chickens, 22% chose to treat sick chikens, 11%sold all si hicens, and 3% destroyed sick chikens. The majority of traders mitigate the disease only by cleaning vehicles and baskets without disinfectants. The mortality rate of chickens in traders significantly increased along with the increase in the number of purchases and the distance of transportation.

Abstract

It is difficult for social startups to select the most relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) because it is difficult to find a shared impact language to code, classify, and interpret the impact. This study aims to determine key impact performance indicators for assessing success in agricultural social startups in Indonesia. We applied multi-case studies approach to four leading Indonesian agricultural social startups. In total, eight experts consisting of co-founders, human resources managers, and managing partners on each social startup have been asked to assess the importance of success criteria and the performance of the corresponding company in fulfilling the requirements. The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was applied to determine the relative importance of impact themes and strategic goals. The AHP results showed that smallholder agriculture is the most critical impact theme to achieve as success criteria. Five of the 12 strategic goals with the highest priority were explained as candidates of KPIs: the financial health of farmers, better and stable pricing, social equity and justice, farm profitability, and food availability and diversity. The KPIs developed in this study are anticipated to be utilized by stakeholders involved in the agricultural social startup ecosystems, including practitioners, impact investors, and policy-makers. Abstract

Many new positions in palm oil plantations and mills are for casual laborers who are particularly vulnerable to poor earnings, lack of social security, and limited legal support. This study purpose is to identify the alternative strategy that can be taken by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to increase the number of casual laborers in oil palm plantations who enroll in the labor social security program. Purposive sampling is utilized to collect primary data for this study. Respondents are interviewed and given paper-based questionnaires. The respondents are five experts involved in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan's planning and strategy decision-making processes, specifically the Investigating Supervisory Officer (Petugas Pengawas Pemeriksa), Head of Branch Office, Deputy Director of DKI Jakarta Region, Deputy Director for Corporate and Institutional Membership, and Deputy Director for Special Membership. The results of the questionnaire were processed using Expert Choice 11, based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as the analytical tool for this study. The results of this study suggest that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan can employ a law enforcement strategy to increase company compliance as an alternative strategy so that casual laborers are able to enroll in the labor social security program. Abstract

Tuna is believed to be one of the world's most popular fish with high economic value. Tuna is very sensitive to temperature changes; therefore, quality control must be carried out from the supplier to the customer stage. The quality of tuna then impacts the amount of revenue received by each supply chain. The objectives of this research are to identify the configuration of the tuna supply chain in Ternate City, analyze the risk of the tuna supply chain, and propose risk mitigation strategies for the tuna supply chain in Ternate City. The research focuses on fishermen, traders, and processors. Sampling was based on non-probability sampling, where the collection of information and knowledge from experts used a purposive sampling method to determine the experts involved in the research. The number of respondents was two fishermen, two traders, and three processing companies. Potential risks were analyzed in fuzzy (Hor-1). Furthermore, several mitigation actions were carried out, which were then analyzed using fuzzy (Hor-2). Risk agents and risk events were identified based on all activities mapped using the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model. Most tuna is delivered to fulfill domestic needs, with 58% going to inter-island traders and large processors or exporters. The ARP value with a cumulative 80% indicates that there are seven priority risk agents in fishermen, four priority risk agents in traders, and thirteen priority risk agents in processors that need to be mitigated. Training for fishermen on good fish handling on board and fish handling training for traders and processors are priority mitigation strategies that can be carried out to maintain the quality of tuna in all members of the supply chain.
