Abstract

Implementation of Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) is crucial for cement manufacturers to enhance competitive advantage while minimizing economic, social, and environmental impacts. As a result, cement companies must assess, manage, and report the sustainability performance of their supply chains. However, there is no appropriate measurement framework to evaluate SSCM performance. This study designs a specific and relevant SSCM performance measurement framework, referring to global cement industry indicators, empirical indicators of Indonesian manufacturers, and validation of seven cement supply chain specialists. A systematic literature search was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to assign weights to performance indicators. This study develops an SSCM framework that integrates three aspects of sustainability: environmental, social, and economic. The framework consists of 22 performance indicators, including six environmental indicators, eight social indicators, and eight economic indicators. Testing the framework on leading cement company in Indonesia resulted in a strong performance score of 80.7. This study addresses the existing gap in research related to supply chain sustainability and, for the first time, provides locally developed SSCM performance indicators that are aligned with the context of the Indonesian cement industry. This study also discusses the implications of the developed SSCM framework for sustainability education and capacity building within the Indonesian cement industry, highlighting the importance of integrating environmental, social, and economic performance indicators into training programs and educational curricula to foster sustainable business practices.

Abstract

X, a public railway transportation company, is experiencing challenges in its procurement process, including frequent delays and failures. To support timely project execution and optimal budget utilization, this study applies the Lean Six Sigma methodology through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework to analyze inefficiencies and propose improvements. The Define phase identifies key procurement issues and customer expectations; the Measure phase calculates the current sigma level (3.33) and highlights problem patterns; the Analyze phase explores root causes using fishbone diagrams and 5 Whys; the Improve phase presents 13 actionable recommendations; and the Control phase outlines a plan to sustain improvements. The primary issue identified is a 16.81% procurement failure rate, mainly due to bids exceeding the Owner’s Estimate and the absence of qualified vendors. Cost-benefit analysis confirms the feasibility of improvements, showing a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 770,512,859, a Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) of 1.557, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 108%, and a Payback Period of 1 year. These findings support the implementation of targeted process enhancements to improve procurement performance at PT. X.

Abstract

The accreditation landscape for private universities under the oversight of LLDIKTI Wilayah III in Indonesia is characterized by significant disparities in institutional readiness and compliance with national standards. Current data highlight a pressing need for strategic intervention, as a considerable proportion of institutions remain within the "yellow" and "red" zones of accreditation preparedness. In response to this challenge, this study analyzes the critical factors influencing the effectiveness of accreditation facilitation and formulates evidence-based strategies for its enhancement. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research integrates comprehensive accreditation mapping, stakeholder interviews, and multi-layered analytical frameworks, including Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE), External Factor Evaluation (EFE), SWOT, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The findings identify organizational commitment and institutional readiness as the most determinants of accreditation success, with internal quality assurance units acting as pivotal actors. Consequently, the study proposes the development of a predictive accreditation simulator, designed to align with specific institutional typologies and internal quality assurance systems. Conceptualized as a strategic quality gateway, this tool is intended to enable proactive readiness assessment, foster continuous improvement, and strengthen institutional resilience. Ultimately, it aims to ensure consistent alignment with national standards and promote sustainable quality assurance practices within Indonesia's private higher education sector.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the effect of circular economy practices on sustainable supply chain management and to identify which dimensions of the circular economy most significantly contribute to improving supply chain performance. The research was conducted between February and April 2025 in the Cigondewah area of Bandung City, West Java, known as a center for small and medium-sized textile industries. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing surveys and documentation analysis. Data were collected from 120 textile business actors through structured questionnaires and interviews, supported by secondary data from industry reports and government sustainability policies. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of circular economy practices has a positive and significant influence on the performance of sustainable supply chains. Through dimensional analysis, the study reveals that Rethink, Refurbish, and Reuse strongly enhance cost efficiency; Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle improve agility; and Rethink, Repurpose, Reuse, and Recycle effectively support environmental sustainability. Social sustainability is primarily driven by Recycle, while Remanufacture and Recover require strategic improvement. Reliability is strengthened by Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse, and Rethink, but Recover remains a key challenge. In the dimension of responsiveness, Recycle performs well, while Remanufacture and Recover need targeted attention. These insights provide practical implications for prioritizing specific circular economy dimensions to advance supply chain sustainability in the textile sector.
