Abstract

Blown Film Extrusion Machines are critical equipment in the plastic manufacturing industry, where machine reliability and maintenance effectiveness significantly affect productivity and product quality. This condition was observed in a plastic manufacturing plant in Sidoarjo Regency, where maintenance activities are still predominantly reactive and lack a structured preventive maintenance system. This study aims to analyze the performance and reliability of Blown Film Extrusion Machines and to determine critical components as a basis for optimizing preventive maintenance through the integration of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). The research methodology employs a quantitative descriptive approach with an applied case study design. Data collection was conducted through direct observation of 11 Blown Film Extrusion Machines, including data on downtime, failure frequency, repair duration, operating time, and production output consisting of good and defective products. Data processing involved calculating OEE to evaluate machine effectiveness, MTBF to measure reliability, and MTTR to assess repair efficiency. Downtime analysis was also performed to identify components contributing most significantly to production stoppages. The results indicate an overall OEE value of 73%, an MTTR of 229.89 minutes, and an MTBF of 1,421.67 minutes. The PLC, chiller, and bearing were identified as the main contributors to downtime. This study concludes that low machine effectiveness is caused by frequent failures and prolonged repair times, highlighting the need to prioritize preventive maintenance on critical components to improve machine reliability and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the variables that impact the purchasing of disposable diapers by using an enlarged Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework. Two hundred thirty-two people in Surabaya who were familiar with the use of disposable diapers for either infants or the elderly were surveyed online. A quantitative explanatory approach was used to examine this data. Knowledge, Morality, Tradition, and Perceived Risk are new components of the extended TPB model that take into consideration the specific social and cultural context of Indonesia. For this data analysis, we turned to LISREL, which stands for Structural Equation Modeling. The results show that environmental consciousness, understanding, and ethics significantly affect intent, behavior, and result. Some elements that affect the intention to buy include subjective norms and perceived behavioral control; on the other hand, perceived risk and tradition have an adverse effect on these factors. Consistent with the TPB paradigm when applied to one-time use products, these findings highlight the role of moral and cultural factors in determining responsible consumption behavior. Adding more variables to the TPB model has expanded research on industrial and consumer decision-making behavior.

Abstract

Traffic congestion is a major issue in Surabaya, a metropolitan city with a high rate of private vehicle growth. To address this problem, the Surabaya city government launched the Wira Wiri Suroboyo feeder service as a complement to the Suroboyo Bus mass transportation system. This study aims to identify public responses to the service through sentiment analysis of comments posted on the official Instagram account @wirawirisuroboyo. The methodology employed sentiment analysis and text mining techniques using R Studio software. Data were collected via web scraping from 230 comments and processed through data cleaning, tokenization, case folding, and stopword removal. The results show that 37% of comments were positive, 16% expressed trust, 10% were sad, and 8% were negative. A word cloud revealed dominant words such as "halte" (bus stop), "rute" (route), and "bisa" (can), reflecting the community’s need for better accessibility and service coverage. This research contributes as an evaluation input and recommendation for policymakers to improve the quality and distribution of Wira Wiri Suroboyo services, supporting a more inclusive and sustainable public transport system in Surabaya.
