Abstract

Constructivism serves as a basic theory in education, and plays an important role, because this perspective views learning as a dynamic process in which students actively participate in constructing their knowledge. So, this research aims to produce a virtual laboratory that is valid and effective in developing constructivist thinking. This research and development use the Ploom approach which consists of initial investigation, design, construction/realization, testing, evaluation, revision, and implementation. Thirty-two electrical engineering students from Padang State University participated in this research. The instruments used are validity instruments and constructivism assessment tools. The research results show that the Proteus-based virtual laboratory developed is valid and effective in fostering constructivist thinking in electrical measurement practice. This study contributes to the advancement of virtual laboratories in educational settings, emphasizing the importance of constructivist pedagogy for meaningful and engaging learning experiences in the field of electrical engineering. The results of this research open opportunities for further research regarding the exploration of artificial intelligence to improve constructivism through virtual laboratories.

Abstract

Learning using E-Learning has recently become part of education in Indonesia, however its implementation needs to be evaluated so that it meets standards. So, this research aims to start implementing Online exams using Padang State University E-Learning. This research is evaluation research using the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) approach. The research subjects were 30 students taking measurement and instrument lectures in the electrical engineering study program, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire. The data was analyzed for the average value of the questionnaire which was classified and explained for each aspect of the evaluation. The research results that describe the implementation of Online exams with E-Learning at Padang State University are quite good, with average scores reflecting adequate quality. Context evaluation indicates the user's skill level and sufficient means available, although graphics and E-Learning content require further attention. Evaluation input shows good improvements in user capabilities and availability of E-Learning access facilities. The evaluation highlights the good process of using E-Learning applications, despite challenges in implementing assessments through the platform. Product evaluation shows that the quality and benefits of E-Learning are quite good. In conclusion, although the implementation of Online exams has provided positive benefits, there are still aspects that can be improved, such as the security of Online exams and more authentic evaluation methods. These findings provide valuable insight for further development in facing the dynamics of educational technology that continues to develop. The findings of this research open up opportunities for further exploration in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in conducting Online exams.

Abstract

Background: Teachers in vocational schools play an essential role in integrating renewable energy education into the curriculum, but limited tools and knowledge in assembling solar panels hinder practical learning. The program aims to provide teachers with practical knowledge and skills in assembling solar panels. Method: This activity was attended by productive teachers of SMK in the field of expertise in Electrical Power Installation Engineering throughout the province of West Sumatra. Activities are carried out in 4 stages, Preparation, Implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Follow-up. Written tests and practical tests are conducted to find out the extent of the teacher's ability to use solar panel trainers. Result: The result of this program is an increase in knowledge and skills, teachers in solar panel assembly. This program contributes to trained teachers, to provide an interactive and interesting learning approach for students in the use of renewable energy. Conclusion: This training program not only meets the needs of education in facing the development of renewable energy technology, but also makes a real contribution in creating human resources who are ready to work in the renewable energy sector.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi efektivitas Trainer Mikrokontroller dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran praktik Mikrokontroller. Permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran adalah kurangnya alat bantu yang dapat memberikan pengalaman praktik langsung, mudah diakses, dan dengan biaya yang terjangkau, hal tersebut menyebabkan rendahnya motivasi belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan berbasis ADDIE model yang terdiri dari tahapan analisis, desain, coding, testing, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian melibatkan dua ahli media yang berperan dalam validasi Trainer, serta 38 mahasiswa Teknik Listrik Universitas Negeri Padang yang mengikuti uji coba Trainer. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test motivasi, dengan analisis menggunakan gain skor untuk mengukur peningkatan motivasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Trainer Mikrokontroller yang dikembangkan valid dan efektif, terbukti mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa dengan rata-rata gain skor sebesar 61%, yang dikategorikan sebagai cukup efektif. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan Trainer Mikrokontroller dapat menjadi solusi praktis dan ekonomis dalam mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan efisien, khususnya dalam pembelajaran praktik Mikrokontroller di pendidikan vokasi. Trainer ini juga berpotensi digunakan lebih luas untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di berbagai konteks pendidikan teknik dan sains.

Abstract

Ikan hias merupakan salah satu usaha yang bisa memberikan keuntungan bagi pembudidayanya. Kualitas air pada akuarium ikan hias harus selalu dalam kondisi yang optimal supaya pertumbuhan ikan hias tidak terganggu. Beberapa parameter kualitas air yaitu suhu, pH, serta tingkat zat padat yang terlarut dalam air. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat, teknologi yang dikembangkan diharapkan akan memudahkan manusia dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bangun alat monitoring dan kendali kualitas air pada akuarium ikan hias berbasis Internet of Things (IoT). Dalam pembuatan alat ini menggunakan NodeMCU Esp32 sebagai pusat kendalinya. Alat ini menggunakan sensor suhu DS18B20 untuk mengukur temperatur air, sensor pH-4502C untuk mengukur pH air, dan sensor TDS DF-Robot untuk mengukur tingkat padatan yang terlarut pada air. hasil monitoring akan ditampilkan pada layar LCD. Adapun perangkat lunak (software) yang digunakan yaitu arduino IDE dan Telegram. Ketika kualitas air yang terukur tidak sesuai dengan kondisi normal maka akan dikirimkan notifikasi ke telegram dan akan dilakukan pengendalian secara otomatis. User (telegram) juga dapat mengakses data sensor secara manual dengan mengirimkan pesan tertentu pada chat bot telegram yang sesuai dengan program yang telah dibuat.

Abstract

Dalam dunia industri banyak ditemukan mesin yang bekerja secara Auto sehingga mampu beroperasi dengan cepat dan tepat dalam proses produksi yang berjalan dengan efektif dan efisien. Perancangan sistem pengambilan dan pemindahan barang berbasis PLC pada mesin MES-A203 ini bertujuan agar mampu memberikan edukasi dalam proses yang ada di industri terhadap produksi secara pengambilan dan pemindahan barang. PLC Omron CP2E berfungsi sebagai pusat control sistem, Sensor photoeletric sebagai sensor pendukung, Gripper sebagai penjepit benda kerja, Motor stepper sebagai penggerak dari pengambilan dan pemindahan barang, linear guide slide sebagai jalur motor dalam proses pengambilan dan pemindahan barang dan filter regulator air service unit sebagai pendukung peneumatik dalam sistem. Melalui tahapan proses perancangan pemprograman sistem dengan menggunakan program dari CX-programmer, serta hasil dari pengujian dan analisa data yang diperoleh sistem yang akan bekerja baik dan kontinu. Meskipun sistem dirancang hanya untuk edukasi namun dengan sistem dan perangkat yang digunakan sesuai industri maka bisa diaplikasikan dalam mendukung pengetahuan terhadap proses kerja dalam bidang industri yang otomatis dan efisien.

Abstract

The increasing use of air-conditioned rooms in public entertainment venues but allowing visitors to smoke indoors makes some visitors feel uncomfortable. This final project aims to be able to design a carbon monoxide gas control device and carbon monoxide gas monitoring using IoT technology. The methodology for making this tool involves literature study methods in national journals and internet searches regarding projects that have been made before. Then identify problems in the field so that improvements can be made in tool design. In this tool, air content readings use the MQ-135 sensor to detect gas levels. Control uses the Ardiono Uno microcontroller as the data processing center, the ESP 8266 nodeMCU as the data sender to the application. From several experiments it was concluded that the tool operated as expected. It can be seen from the experimental data that the MQ-135 sensor works accurately in detecting the air quality levels in the room. It starts when the sensor detects air levels and then the reading results become input to start activating the relay for on/off the exhaust fan and also perfume, which will be active to neutralize the air in the room. The buzzer will activate when the reading value reaches the programmed gas level. The sensor reading value that is read will then appear on the LCD and also on the Blynk application.

Abstract

In the growing digital era, online academic guidance and counseling is a practical solution in supporting students in achieving student academic success. This article aims to explore the level of student satisfaction with academic guidance and counseling provided online by academic supervisors in the Electrical Engineering Study Program at Padang State University. The research method in this study uses a quantitative approach with a questionnaire instrument. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate a fairly high level of satisfaction from students towards academic guidance and counseling conducted by academic supervisors online. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for universities in understanding the needs of students related to guidance and counseling in the digital era. This research opens up future research opportunities to develop a more interactive and user-friendly platform to support online academic guidance and counseling.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebijakan makan siang gratis di sekolah menengah kejuruan di Indonesia melalui pendekatan analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kepustakaan, dengan pengumpulan dan analisis data dari berbagai sumber sekunder. Hasil analisis menunjukkan program makan siang gratis memiliki kekuatan pada peningkatan kesehatan siswa, memberikan akses makanan bergizi, dan peningkatan prestasi akademik. Namun, kelemahannya keterbatasan anggaran, tantangan pemenuhan logistik, dan menambah beban administrasi pihak sekolah. Peluang yang dapat dimanfaatkan meliputi dukungan dari komunitas lokal, Kampanye kesadaran gizi, serta integrasi program dengan kurikulum. Ancaman yang harus diantisipasi mencakup ketidakstabilan harga pangan, Terjadinya peningkatan sampah plastik, dan masalah keamanan pangan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan yang mendalam tentang kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman yang dihadapi oleh kebijakan makan siang gratis di sekolah menengah kejuruan. Temuan ini membuka peluang penelitian dimasa yang akan datang untuk evaluasi pelaksanaan program dalam jangka waktu yang panjang. ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the free lunch policy in vocational high schools in Indonesia using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis approach. The research method used is library research, with data collection and analysis from various secondary sources. The results of the analysis show that the free lunch program has the power to improve student health, provide access to nutritious food, and increase academic achievement. However, the weaknesses are budget limitations, logistical challenges, and increased administrative burdens on schools. Opportunities that can be utilized include support from local communities, nutrition awareness campaigns, and curriculum integration with health education programs. Threats that must be anticipated include food price instability, an increase in plastic waste, and food safety problems. This research provides in-depth insight into the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing free lunch policies in vocational high schools. These findings open up future research opportunities to evaluate program implementation over a long period of time.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the game-assisted Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) learning model in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering at SMKN 1 Batipuh. This study uses an experimental method with a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest posttest. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes by using the game-assisted SFE model, showing a better understanding of electrical engineering concepts and higher critical thinking skills. In addition, the use of games as a learning medium has also been proven to make the learning process more interactive. The subjects in this study are students of class X TITL 1 at SMKN 1 Batipuh. The research instruments used are in the form of concept cards as a tool to help implement the SFE learning model, and pretest and posttest questions in objective form. Based on the average score of the posttest, it is in the high category. Therefore, the application of the Student Facilitator and Explanation learning model as a learning model in the Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering subject is said to be effective because the classical completeness value is included in the very high category and the effect size is included in the large category.
