Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics and feasibility of biology assessment based on critical thinking skills. This research is a research and development that adapts to the McIntire Miller development model. The sample used in the first trial was 80 students, and in the second trial were 76 students. Data collection techniques using questionnaire sheets, questionnaire sheets, interview sheets, test instruments in the form of essay questions of biology grade XI based on critical thinking from Facione with indicators: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, explanation, conclusions, and self-regulation. Techniques of data analysis using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results of this study were in the form of a biology assessment based on critical thinking skills in the form of essays in odd semester XI material and from the results of the 1st and 2nd trials totaling 24 items. The content validity of biology assessment based on critical thinking skills is qualified to very high. The construct validity the items are 28  questions valid (1st trial) with reliability value is 0.875. Furthermore, 24 questions are valid (2nd trial) with reliability value is 0.764. The results of the level of difficulty test are 0.332 (1st trial) and 0.537 (2nd Trial). The value of discriminating power is 1,541 (1st trial) and 2,021 (2nd trial). The data shows that the items can be used to measure students' critical thinking skills. We can involve the mental processes of pupils by the test based on critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Project Based Learning Model to Skill of Science Process on Environmental Management Material. This research design uses posttest-only control design with Quasi-Experimental method (quasi-experiment). The sample of this research is 35 students. Based on the results of the analysis of students' science process skills show that the implementation of learning using the model of Project Based Learning is better than the conventional learning model. This can be seen from the calculation of the test-t skills of the science process shows for sig tcount 0.000 0,05, then Ha accepted and H0 rejected. The result of analysis of the average score of mastery of experimental science process skill class achieves 2.87 with good criteria while the students 'science process skill in control class 1.73 is sufficient to mean that the students' experimental class science process skill is higher than the control class science process skill. Thus, it can be concluded that the model of Project Based Learning affects the Skills of Science Process on Environmental Management Material.Keywords: project based learning model; skills of science process.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the application of learning model ofScience Technology Society (STS)  to the ability of understanding the concept of Biologystudents on the subject of VII grade ecosystem MTs Paradigma Palembang. The desain ofstudy used the design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design with Quasi Experimentalmethod (quasi experiment). These sample included 35 students. Based on the results of theanalysis of students' concept of understanding shows that the implementation of learningusing the model of learning Science Technology Society (STS)  is better than theconventional learning model. It can can be seen from the calculation of the t-test showed ofstudents' concept of understanding sig t-value 0.000 < 0,05, then Ha accepted and H0 rejected.The result of analysis of the improvement of the average completeness of the conceptualunderstanding of the experimental class is 48.2% while the students 'understanding of thecontrol class is 29.2%, which means that the students' understanding of the concept of theexperimental class is higher than the understanding of the concept of the control class. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Brainstorming learning method influence on creative thinking skills on Class X Virus material in SMA N 1 Plakat Tinggi MUBA Regency. This research uses the design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design research with Quasi Experiment method. The sample of this research is 78 students. Based on the results of data analysis students' creative thinking skills show that the implementation of learning using Brainstorming learning method is better than conventional methods. This can be seen from the calculation of t-test sig titung 0.000 < 0.005, then Ha accepted and Ho rejected. The result of analysis of the average increase of mastery of experimental creative thinking skill is 87.4% while the students 'thinking skill in the control class is 77.4% meaning that the students' creative thinking skill is higher than the creative thinking skill of the control class. So, it can be concluded that the method of Brainstorming influence the creative thinking skills of students class X MIPA SMA N1 Plakat Tinggi MUBA regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' understanding of the concept of environmental pollution material in the school of SMAN 4 Palembang. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The population of this study were all students of class XI MIPA SMAN 4 as many as 161 students. Sampling uses total sampling technique. Data collection techniques using test questions understanding concepts. The results of the study based on the analysis carried out using the percentage level of understanding of students 'concepts showed that students' understanding of concepts in environmental pollution material at Palembang State High School 4 was at high criteria with an average value of 65%. Conclusion the students' conceptual comprehension ability in environmental pollution material at Palembang State High School 4 with the highest value is found in the classifying indicator of 86% with very high criteria, and the lowest indicator is in the concluding indicator which is equal to 48% with the criteria being.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi sel di SMA Negeri Palembang. Jenis penelitian ini penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, populasi penelitian semua SMA Negeri Palembang, sampel penelitian yaitu SMA Negeri 4 Palembang, SMA Negeri 8 Palembang, SMA Negeri 9 Palembang dan SMA Negeri 19 Palembang. Teknik pengambilan data diambil secara purposive sampling, memilih berdasarkan letak wilayah dan kecamatan. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar wawancara, kuesioner, observasi, dokumentasi dan tes pilihan ganda (Multiple Choice Test) berjumlah 20 soal berpikir kritis pada materi sel. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi lembar kuesioner, lembar wawancara, lembar observasi dan soal pilihan ganda berjumlah 20 soal berpikir kritis. Analisis data menggunakan uji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda. Dari hasil rata-rata observasi siswa keseluruhan berpikir kritis yaitu SMA Negeri 4 Palembang sebesar 33,45%, SMA Negeri 8 Palembang sebesar 31,91%, SMA Negeri 9 Palembang sebesar 30,38% dan SMA Negeri 19 Palembang sebesar 32,67%. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata hasil nilai tes keterampilan berpikir kritis yaitu SMA Negeri 4 Palembang sebesar 25,95%, SMA Negeri 8 Palembang sebesar 42,55%, SMA Negeri 9 Palembang sebesar 34,20% dan SMA Negeri 19 Palembang sebesar 27,55%. Dari keempat SMA Negeri Palembang diperoleh rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 32,56% dikategorikan masih tergolong rendah hal ini disebabkan bahwa tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa masih kurang dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru.

Abstract

Science process skills is the ability of students to apply scientific methods in understanding, developing science and discovering knowledge. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of questions for each Science process skills indicator on biology material in Senior High School at Palembang. The research method was used descriptive was qualitative. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The sample used was the odd semester final exam questions in Senior Hight School Palembang. The instruments was used in the study were tests and non-tests. Non-test instruments in the form of interview sheets, questionnaire sheets, observation sheets and documentation. The test instrument was used the class X odd semester final exam question instrument made by the teacher. The technique for analyzing the data was used percentage technique. The results obtained from the analysis of semester final exam odd questions for the 2019/2020 year school in Palembang High School, there were 4 Science process skills indicators that were applied to the question instrument with a deficient category consisting of observing indicators (6.32%), grouping indicators (18.02 %), the indicators predict / predict (3.75%) and the indicators plan the experiment (2.50%), while the indicators interpret, ask questions, hypothesize, apply concepts and communicating (0%) in the poor category. The analysis of Science process skills questions on biology material in Senior High School in Palembang was categorized as lacking because the school had not fully made the Science process skills based question instrument and the questions made on average were still at the cognitive limit.

Abstract

Hygiene and sanitation behavior of hand washing with soap is the most inexpensive and effective health investment to prevent various diseases. Washing hands with soap is a small thing but has a big impact on human health. The aim of this community service is to increase knowledge, abilities and active role of PKK, dasawisma, and the community about hygiene and sanitation hand washing with soap so that it can improve the awareness of public health. This community service uses a participatory and quantitative descriptive model to describe the behavior of the population regarding hygiene and sanitation in applying hand washing with soap. In conclusions, the community service consist of: 1) An increase od awareness in hygiene and sanitation of hand washing with soap. 2) Respondents start to realize that washing hands with soap can prevent various diseases. 3) Respondents understand and know the usefulness and important of hand washing with soap time.
