Abstract

COVID-19 was first detected in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The spread of COVID-19 infection continues to increase in China and in a short time spread to various countries with a high number of cases. Various strategies have been carried out to prevent an increase in cases, one of the ways being implemented is locking or limiting community activities. As a result of the implementation of this lockdown or activity restriction, it is reported that air quality has improved in various areas due to reduced industrial and transportation activities. Chinese people are able to reduce their level of travel or activity during the lockdown. During the implementation of the lockdown, the concentration of air pollutants such as SO2, PM2,5, PM10, NO2 and CO decreased in China. The implementation of the lockdown has also been able to reduce air pollution in India's major cities by up to 50%. In addition, the lockdown in Pakistan has also had an impact on air quality. It is known that the AQI (Air Quality Index) level is in the good to moderate category, during the lockdown period. NO and SO2 also decreased in concentration. The same thing does not happen in Indonesia. The existence of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), can reduce the density of HCHO, NO2, and SO2 in March, but this decrease does not show a significant difference between before and after the implementation of PSBB, because community activities also did not decrease significantly. The implementation of lockdown or activity restrictions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 cases has been able to reduce air pollution in several countries in Asia. Lockdowns and activity restrictions can reduce industrial activities and transportation movements so that the resulting air pollution can also be reduced. Keywords: COVID-19; lockdown; air pollution; air quality; Asia ABSTRAK COVID-19 pertama kali terdeteksi pada Desember 2019 di Wuhan, Cina. Abstract

In the realm of public service innovation, one significant government initiative is the establishment of Public Service Centers (PSCs). This qualitative-descriptive research is conducted at the Gresik PSC and the East Java Health Office. PSC 119 Gresik operates as an emergency service under the Health Office's jurisdiction, catering to the community's urgent needs. While the Gresik PSC has shown successful implementation, encompassing community outreach, emergency response tasks, and reporting to the Health Office, it faces challenges. Notably, the Gresik PSC receives only 70 calls, a figure deemed suboptimal compared to the local population. Hindrances include the non-readiness of call center workers during emergencies, inadequate community awareness about PSC, and reports still being directed to three different agencies. To enhance the efficiency of Gresik PSC, recommendations include training call center operators to enhance communication tools and skills, cross-sector collaboration, routine monitoring, and evaluation every 3-6 months on a unified application or report, and intensified community outreach through social and print media.

Abstract

Stunting in children under five is a global health problem that can be influenced by various factors, including inadequate home sanitation. Stunting in children can be chronic from environmental sanitation problems, infectious diseases, and lack of food consumption. The contribution of poor home environmental sanitation to the problem of stunting can be seen from the growth of disease-causing microorganisms that can cause infections in the body, so that children experience growth failure. Pakis Village, as the partner area of this program, is part of the working area of Puskesmas Pakis Surabaya. Stunting in Pakis Village is still a serious problem because it is one of the villages with a high incidence of stunting in Surabaya City in 2022. This community service activity contributes to further understanding of the description of home sanitation and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Community service is carried out in the form of home environmental sanitation counseling in supporting the elimination of stunting in infants and toddlers. Participants in the Community Service counseling were 26 participants out of 30 pre-test average results of participants who knew about home environmental sanitation which was 67.63 then after counseling / education related to home environmental sanitation there was an increase of 20.38% or the average post test score was 81.41. Cooperation between the government, community, and harvesters is needed.
