Abstract

Picky Eater in toddlers is characterized by behaviors such as choosing certain foods, limiting food variations, and refusingto try new foods, which can affect nutritional status. Limited caregiver knowledge can exacerbate this condition. Health education deliveredthrough the audiovisual platform TikTok represents an innovative and accessible approach. Methods: This study used a pre-experimentaldesign with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest approach, which was conducted in the working area of the Parang Health Center, Magetan Regencybetween March and May 2026. A total of 43 caregivers of toddlers aged 1-5 years with malnutrition were selected using simple randomsampling. Knowledge of picky eating was assessed using a 20-item questionnaire before and after TikTok's audiovisual educationintervention, which was administered twice a day for three consecutive days. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results: Before the intervention, 69.8% of caregivers had good knowledge, while 30.2% had reasonable knowledge. After the intervention, all caregivers (100%) showed good knowledge. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test yielded a p value of <0.001 (Z = -3.606), indicating asignificant effect of TikTok's audiovisual education on caregiver knowledge. Conclusion: TikTok audiovisual education is effective inincreasing caregivers' knowledge about picky eating in toddlers. This medium serves as an engaging, interactive, and accessible alternativeto health promotion, helping to improve caregivers' understanding of healthy eating habits for young children

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnancy may occur despite good appetite and regular eating habits when maternal nutritional reserves before pregnancy are low and energy expenditure is high. This case report aimed to describe midwifery care for a pregnant woman with CED and good appetite and to evaluate changes during follow-up. A descriptive case report was conducted in the working area of Panekan Public Health Center, Magetan Regency. The subject was Mrs. “N”, 22 years old, primigravida (G1P0000), at 20 weeks and 1 day of gestation, with pre-pregnancy BMI 16.4 kg/m² and MUAC 20 cm. Data were obtained through history taking, physical examination, anthropometric assessment, supporting examinations, and documentation. Follow-up consisted of four home visits on 31 January, 7 February, 14 February, and 21 February 2026. The participant reported good appetite and three meals daily without excessive nausea or vomiting. Her pre-pregnancy weight was 37 kg, previous recorded weight was 39.1 kg, and weight at the first case assessment was 41.0 kg. During follow-up, weight remained 41.0 kg at the second visit, increased to 41.2 kg at the third visit, and reached 41.3 kg at the fourth visit. MUAC remained 20 cm. The participant improved meal variety, added snacks, reduced heavy market activities, maintained MMS intake, and remained clinically stable. CED can occur despite good appetite. Objective assessment using pre-pregnancy BMI, MUAC, serial weight, dietary history, and activity assessment is important. Nutrition counselling, activity modification, family support, MMS adherence, and regular ANC monitoring should be continued, because the unchanged MUAC indicates that CED had not fully resolved during the one-month observation period.

Abstract

The gap between research outputs and their implementation in real-world health settings remains a persistent challenge within academic and health systems. While research productivity in health sciences continues to grow, its tangible impact on population health outcomes is not always evident. At the same time, community service and public health outreach programs are often conducted without a strong research foundation and lack integration with research roadmaps, resulting in short-term and unsustainable health outcomes. This article presents a conceptual perspective on the importance of integrating research and community service within the context of health systems through a research roadmap-based approach. Using a reflective narrative method, this paper explores existing gaps between health research and community-based health interventions, proposes an integrative framework, and elaborates key principles and systematic steps for designing research-based community service programs in health settings. Furthermore, it highlights the strategic role of the penta helix collaboration model in ensuring sustainability and strengthening health system responsiveness. This perspective argues that ideal community service in the health sector represents the downstream implementation of research, oriented toward sustainable community health empowerment and improved health behaviors. Strengthening the integration between research and community service is expected to enhance the social and clinical relevance of health education institutions and maximize the real-world impact of scientific knowledge on population health. Keywords: community service, research roadmap, community health, health empowerment, research translation, penta helix

Abstract

Adolescent promiscuity is an increasing public health concern in Indonesia, reflected in rising cases of premarital sexual activity and unintended pregnancies. In 2025, Magetan Regency recorded 60 marriage dispensation applications, 34 of which involved unintended pregnancies. These trends highlight the need to understand psychosocial factors that may contribute to risky adolescent behavior, particularly peer pressure and social support, which are known to influence decision‑making and emotional regulation during adolescence. This study aimed to analyze the simultaneous influence of peer pressure and social support on adolescent promiscuity among students at SMK PGRI 1 Magetan. This analytical quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design with a total of 193 respondents selected through proportional random sampling in 2026. Data collection utilized three standardized instruments: the Peer Pressure Scale Questionnaire-Revised (PPSQ-R), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and The Emotional Promiscuity Scale. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square tests and binary logistic regression to determine both individual and simultaneous influences of peer pressure and social support on promiscuity behavior. The analysis showed that both peer pressure (p = 0.000) and social support (p = 0.000) had significant relationships with adolescent promiscuity behavior. Logistic regression further identified peer pressure as the most dominant factor influencing promiscuity (p = 0.000). The findings also suggest that social support did not function effectively as a protective factor, likely due to insufficient supervision or guidance within adolescents’ social environments. In conclusion, peer pressure plays a critical role in shaping adolescent promiscuity behavior, surpassing the influence of social support. The limited protective effect of social support indicates gaps in parental and school supervision. Strengthening communication, monitoring, and guidance within families and educational institutions is essential to reduce adolescents’ engagement in risky behaviors. Keywords: adolescent; peer pressure; promiscuity behavior; social support
