Abstract

Background: Although homecare is increasingly recognized as an extension of hospital services, limited evidence exists on the operational pathway from identifying potential patients to the actual utilization of homecare following discharge. Objective: to audit the promotion and utilization funnel of Universitas Airlangga Hospital homecare services among discharged patients from July 2025 to March 2026. Methods: This retrospective descriptive operational audit examined aggregate secondary data from daily homecare operational reports at Universitas Airlangga Hospital between July 2025 and March 2026. The daily report served as the unit of analysis rather than individual patients. Variables included the number of potential homecare patients, documented offer status, willingness responses, realized visits, service-unit origin, and service-category mentions. Data were analyzed descriptively using frequencies, percentages, and utilization ratios Result: Over 181 reporting days, 1,007 potential homecare patients and 235 realized homecare visits were identified, corresponding to 23.3 visits per 100 potential patients. In 2025, documented offer status was available for 121 of 656 potential patients (18.4%), of whom 97 (80.2%) had been offered homecare services. Among those offered, 2 (2.1%) were willing to order the service, 94 (96.9%) were still considering, and 1 (1.0%) declined at initial contact. Offer-response variables were not available in the 2026 reporting format. Physiotherapy or medical rehabilitation accounted for the largest proportion of service-category mentions (60.6%), followed by physician or specialist visits (16.5%). Conclusion: Homecare services at Universitas Airlangga Hospital exhibited substantial post-discharge demand; however, incomplete documentation limited the ability to observe the utilization funnel. Implementing a standardized homecare dashboard integrated with discharge planning could enhance monitoring, follow-up, and evaluation of homecare service utilization.

Abstract

Bckground: Hospitals have a responsibility to provide quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare services to all levels of society. Varied patient needs and characteristics often pose challenges in optimizing visits and maintaining service quality, particularly in outpatient care. Implementing a segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP) strategy can be an effective service management approach to tailoring services to patient profiles, thereby supporting increased service utilization and enhancing patient satisfaction. Purpose: To systematically review the application of STP strategies in hospital settings and to identify their role in enhancing the utilization of outpatient services, with a focus on patient-centered care and health service accessibility. Method: A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Literature was searched through the Scopus database. A total of 20 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. Results: Hospitals apply segmentation strategies (demographic, psychographic, behavioral), targeting (specific patient groups, medical tourism, service-based targeting), and positioning (faith-based service values, patient-centered care, experience-based branding). These approaches have been shown to increase patient satisfaction, loyalty, and particularly the utilization of outpatient services. Conclusions: This review demonstrates that segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP) strategies, although traditionally applied in hospital service strategies can be effectively adapted to optimize outpatient healthcare services. The novelty of this study lies in reframing STP as a health service management approach that enhances patient-centered care, increases service utilization, and supports broader public health outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Digital transformation in the health sector aims to improve the quality and efficiency of services. However, the implementation of SIMRS, RME, and SATUSEHAT still faces various obstacles, such as infrastructure limitations, low digital literacy among health workers, and data security issues. Evaluating the effectiveness of digitization and the factors that influence it is important. Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of digital transformation and information management on the efficiency of healthcare services at Hospital B.Methods: This study uses a quantitative correlational approach with a Likert scale questionnaire. A total of 57 respondents from healthcare workers and management were selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression after undergoing validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. Results: The majority of respondents were female (63%), had more than 10 years of work experience (58%), and held functional positions (62%). Digital transformation did not significantly affect service efficiency (p = 0.432), while information management had a significant effect (p = 0.012). Both variables explained 19.8% of the variation in service efficiency (R² = 0.198).Conclusion: Hospitals are advised to prioritize strengthening information management through enhancing human resource capacity, integrating information systems, and developing digital infrastructure. Further research is recommended to explore other variables such as organizational culture and digital leadership
