Abstract

Objectives: The study aims to examine the relationship between parents' socioeconomic status and the academic achievement of public high school students in Tangerang Municipality. Methods: This research is a cross-sectional study of 660 (Cochran formulation with a sampling error of 3.7%) students from a total of 6,551 public senior high schools.. The author utilized a random sampling technique. The primary data was obtained through a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The questionnaires were distributed to the participants using the students' WhatsApp groups. The author used a binary logit regression model for data analysis. Findings: The results showed that socioeconomic status significantly impacted on student academic achievement. Parents of students with high socioeconomic status were more likely to improve their child's academic results. Meanwhile, the composition of parents' socioeconomic status that contributes more dominantly to increasing academic achievement is the father's income and education and the mother's education, but not the mother's income and asset. Conclusion: Thus, one of the determinants of the academic achievement of high school students is the socioeconomic condition of their parents. The results of this study provide not only an expansion of the education science and education economics literature but also empirical implications for parents and secondary education policymakers. Keywords: academic achievement, assets, parental income, education.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i2.202318

Abstract

Here modern technology is defined as knowledge that is transformed into products, processes, services and organizational structures. Technology is always juxtaposed with the term science. Science is a human effort to understand the phenomena and facts of nature, and to preserve that knowledge conceptually and systematically. While technology is a human effort to use science for the benefit and welfare. Because of this relationship, the development of science is always related to technological developments, and vice versa. The development of science and technology has an exponential characteristic, which is getting faster and faster, because the results of one stage become the basis and reason for the next stage. It is not surprising that not only is its development accelerating but the role of science and technology in modern society is increasing in importance. The development of science is active in all fields, namely health, agriculture, economics, social sciences, natural sciences and so on.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of compensation, loyalty, and work discipline on employee productivity at PT. Mayora Indah Tbk Jatake 1 Unit, Tangerang City. The method used is quantitative with a causal approach. Data were collected through questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability, then processed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS version 27. The results of the partial test showed that compensation had no significant effect on productivity (tcount = −1.452; sig. = 0.148), while loyalty (tcount = 5.521; sig. = 0.000) and work discipline (tcount = 3.286; sig. = 0.001) had a significant positive effect. Simultaneously, the three variables had a significant effect on productivity (F = 16.064; sig. = 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.225 indicates that compensation, loyalty, and discipline only explain 22.5% of the variation in productivity, while 77.5% is influenced by factors outside the research model. This finding confirms that increasing employee loyalty and discipline contributes more to productivity than compensation, so companies need to strengthen non-financial factors alongside compensation policies.

Abstract

This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the impact of gamification on problem-solving skills in STEM education. The study analyzed 16 studies that compared gamification-based interventions with traditional teaching methods in primary and early secondary education. The results showed moderate positive effects of gamification on problem-solving skills, with a weighted mean effect size of 0.67. Additionally, the analysis revealed significant heterogeneity between studies, suggesting that the effectiveness of gamification varied across different contexts. Moderator analyses indicated that primary school students benefited more from gamification-based interventions than secondary school students, but gender did not have a significant moderating effect. The study highlights the potential benefits of gamification in enhancing problem-solving skills in STEM education, particularly for primary school students. However, the findings also suggest that the effectiveness of gamification may depend on various factors, such as the specific context and student demographics, which warrants further investigation.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of tpack-based inquiry teaching model on students' critical thinking skills. This research is a type of meta-analysis research. The data sources in this study came from the analysis of 15 national and international journals published in 2021-2024. The inclusion criteria in the study are that the research must be indexed by Sinta and Scopus, the research comes from open access journals, the research has a relationship with the research variables, the research data is accessed through the Google Scholar Journal Database, Wiley, Taylor of Francis, Mendeley and Researhgate and the research must attach sticky data to calculate the effect size value. Data collection techniques are direct observation and documentation. Data analysis is quantitative analysis by calculating the effect size value with JSAP software. the results concluded that the tpack-based inquiry teaching model had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills with a value of res = 0.914; P < 0.001. this finding provides positive information for teachers to implement this model in learning
