Abstract

Artikel ini membahas potensi dan prospek pengembangan gambir sebagai komoditas unggulan pertanian di Kecamatan Pangkalan Koto Baru, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatera Barat. Mempergunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, studi dilaksanakan dengan observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan petani, dan studi dokumentasi selama kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) pada tanggal 9 Januari hingga 9 Februari. Penelitian ini mengkaji potensi ekonomi gambir, kontribusinya terhadap mata pencaharian masyarakat, serta berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi oleh petani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambir masih menjadi sumber pendapatan penting bagi masyarakat setempat, meskipun fluktuasi harga, keterbatasan teknologi pengolahan, dan lemahnya sistem pemasaran masih memengaruhi keberlanjutan serta pengembangan usaha tani gambir di daerah tersebut.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of variations of spark plugs on power, torque and exhaust emissions produced by Yamaha Vixion motorcycles in 2015. This study uses an experimental method with three variations of spark plugs. The results of research on nickel spark plugs obtained a maximum power of 12.7 Kw, a maximum torque of 11.14 N.m and exhaust gas emissions with CO levels of 4.24%, CO2 9.03%, HC 1214ppm. In platinum spark plugs there is an increase in power of 1.55%, torque of 0.89% torque and exhaust emissions with levels of 5.18% CO, 9.2% CO2, HC 1134ppm. Furthermore, iridium spark plugs have an increase in power of 4.5%, a torque of 3.47% and exhaust gas emissions with CO levels of 5.27%, CO2 9.6%, HC 1293ppm. That is, there is an influence from the use of variations of spark plugs on power, torque and exhaust emissions on Yamaha Vixion motorcycles in 2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan variasi busi terhadap daya, torsi dan emisi gas buang yang dihasilkan oleh sepeda motor Yamaha Vixion tahun 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan tiga variasi busi. Hasil penelitian pada busi nikel didapatkan daya maksimal sebesar 12,7Kw, torsi maksimal sebesar 11,14 N.m dan emisi gas buang dengan kadar CO 4,24%, CO2 9,03%, HC 1214ppm. Pada busi platinum terdapat peningkatan daya sebesar 1,55%, torsi torsi 0,89% dan emisi gas buang dengan kadar CO 5,18%, CO2 9,2%, HC 1134ppm. Selanjutnya, pada busi iridium terdapat peningkatan daya sebesar 4,5%, torsi sebesar 3,47% dan emisi gas buang dengan kadar CO 5,27%, CO2 9,6%, HC 1293ppm. Artinya, terdapat pengaruh dari penggunaan variasi busi terhadap daya, torsi dan emisi gas buang pada sepeda motor Yamaha Vixion tahun 2015.

Abstract

Indonesia is currently experiencing many problems, the trigger is the COVID-19 outbreak so that many workers have been laid off and cause poverty. The effort made to solve this is to increase student resources who are interested in entrepreneurship. In the Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang, there are lessons that support interest in entrepreneurship, namely the Industrial Field Experience Course (PLI). This research will look for the influence of PLI on Entrepreneurial Interest, this is done to see the entrepreneurial values that grow after the implementation of PLI. Correlational descriptive research method with a population of 83 people from the total population taken 33 people for testing, while the 50 people for research, sampling technique (simple random sampling). The results showed that there was a significant influence between variables, 84% of PLI Implementation, 77% Entrepreneurial Interest and the Influence of PLI on Entrepreneurial Interest 28.4%. Indonesia saat ini mengalami banyak permasalahan, pemicunya adalah Wabah COVID-19 sehingga banyak tenaga kerja yang di PHK dan menyebabkan kemiskinan. Usaha yang dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan ini yaitu meningkatkan Sumber Daya Mahasiswa yang berminat untuk Berwirausaha. Di fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Padang ada Pembelajaran yang menunjang minat berwirausaha yaitu Mata Kuliah Pengalaman Lapangan Industri (PLI). Pada penelitian ini akan di cari Pengaruh PLI terhadap Minat Berwirausah, ini dilakukan untuk melihat nilai-nilai wirausaha yang tumbuh setelah pelaksanaan PLI. Metode penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan Populasi sebanyak 83 orang dari jumlah populasi di ambil 33 orang untuk ujicoba, sedangkan yang 50 orang untuk Penelitian, Teknik sampling (simple random sampling). Hasil penelitian adanya pengaruh siknifikan antar variabel, 84% Pelaksanaan PLI, Minat Berwirausaha 77% dan Pengaruh PLI terhadap Minat Berwirausaha 28,4%.

Abstract

SMK Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung menghadapi permasalahan keterbatasan kompetensi guru dalam mengoperasikan test bench common rail yang menyebabkan kerusakan fatal pada peralatan dan tidak optimalnya pembelajaran teknologi otomotif. Program ini bertujuan mentransformasi keterampilan diagnostik guru dalam mengoperasikan test bench common rail dan scantools agar dapat diaplikasikan secara optimal dalam pembelajaran sistem injeksi diesel modern. Program dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan sistematis yaitu perbaikan peralatan, pelatihan intensif, implementasi dan pendampingan, serta evaluasi berkelanjutan yang melibatkan 11 guru dengan pendekatan mixed methods dan desain pre-test post-test. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan paired t-test dan effect size Cohen's d, sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta yang signifikan secara statistik (p=0,026) dengan effect size Cohen's d=0,665 kategori sedang hingga besar. Secara kualitatif, program mendorong peningkatan kepercayaan diri, perubahan persepsi positif terhadap teknologi, motivasi berkelanjutan, serta terbukanya kolaborasi dengan perguruan tinggi dan industri otomotif.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine the impact of learning interest and motivation on Final Semester Examination (UAS) outcomes in the Light Vehicle Electrical Maintenance course at SMK Negeri 4 Pariaman. The study used a quantitative methodology using a correlational design. The population included all 26 students in class XI Automotive Engineering, using a saturation sample approach. Research tools included Likert scale questionnaires to assess learning interest and motivation, together with UAS score recording. The data analysis used multiple linear regression facilitated by SPSS. The findings indicated that: (1) learning interest did not significantly affect UAS results (sig. 0.424 0.05); (2) learning motivation did not significantly affect UAS results (sig. 0.340 0.05); and (3) the combined effect of learning interest and motivation did not significantly affect UAS results (F = 0.495; sig. 0.616 0.05), with a R² value of merely 4.1%. The results suggest that elements such as the quality of practical facilities, instructor ability, and instructional strategies have a more significant effect in student learning outcomes in productive disciplines.Keywords: Learning Interest, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcomes, Light Vehicle Electrical, Vocational High School

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of simulator trainer media on the learning outcomes of the motorcycle starter system compared to conventional lecture methods. Using a quantitative experiment method with a one group pretest-posttest design, the study involved 25 students in class XI TSM in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year at SMKN 1 Bonjol. Data were collected through validated multiple-choice objective tests: 20 items for the pretest and 30 items for the posttest. Data analysis was conducted using the paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase from the average pretest of 68.8 to 83.28 in the posttest after the implementation of the simulator media trainer. The statistical test obtained a t-count of 9,438 t-table of 2,064 with an influence rate of 21%, showing a significant difference in α = 0.05. It was concluded that the simulator trainer media can improve student learning outcomes on motorcycle starter system materials, providing a more concrete and interactive learning experience than conventional lecture methods.Keywords:  trainer simulator, learning outcomes, starter system, motorcycle, technical education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop instructional video media for the Automotive Electronic Sensors and Control course as a solution to the low level of student understanding in visualizing the working principles of sensors and vehicle control systems. The research employed the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), which included needs analysis, video design, expert validation, and practicality testing with students. Validation results from material and media experts show that the developed video is highly valid, with an Aiken’s V score of 0.81. Practicality testing involving 75 students produced scores ranging from 86% to 87%, indicating that the video is highly practical, easy to use, and effective in enhancing students’ understanding of automotive sensor concepts and control systems. The study concludes that the developed video is an effective instructional medium, supports student independent learning, and is feasible for use in both classroom and self-directed learning contexts.Keywords: learning videos, automotive sensors, electronic controls, educational media, 4D models

Abstract

The advancement of technology demands learning media that are more engaging and interactive. In the Power Transmission Systems course, instruction is still dominated by lectures, resulting in suboptimal student comprehension. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a differential tutorial video as a learning medium. The research employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 30 Automotive Engineering students. A test instrument was administered before and after the intervention. Normality tests showed that pretest data were normally distributed, while posttest data were not, leading to the use of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. The results indicated an improvement in learning outcomes, with 30 positive ranks. A Z-value of –4.798 and p = 0.000 confirmed a significant difference. The effect size of 0.876 indicated a very strong impact. Overall, the tutorial video proved effective in enhancing students’ understanding of differential concepts through visual and auditory stimulation.Keywords: Video Tutorial, Differential, Learning Outcomes, Learning Media, Power Transmission System

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas peningkatan performa mesin sepeda motor matik Yamaha Aerox 155cc melalui optimasi sistem Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Fokus kajian adalah perubahan sudut primary pulley dan pemilihan massa roller, karena keduanya menentukan karakter penyaluran torsi dan daya. Metode eksperimen menggunakan desain faktorial pada dua sudut primary pulley (14° standar dan 13,5° modifikasi) dan tiga jenis roller (standar, sliding 12 gram, sliding 10 gram). Uji performa dilakukan dengan chassis dynamometer pada rentang 3000–9000 rpm dengan tiga pengulangan tiap konfigurasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi primary pulley 13,5° dan sliding roller 10 gram meningkatkan daya maksimum dari 7,35 kW menjadi 9,52 kW atau sekitar 22,8% dibandingkan kondisi standar, sedangkan torsi tertinggi 11,70 Nm dicapai pada pulley 13,5° dengan roller standar. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pengaturan sudut pulley dan konfigurasi roller yang tepat mampu mengoptimalkan transmisi CVT dan menjadi dasar teknis bagi strategi tuning yang efisien dan ekonomis. This study investigates improvement of Yamaha Aerox 155cc scooter performance through optimization of the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system. The analysis focuses on primary pulley angle and roller mass selection, since both parameters govern torque and power delivery. A factorial experimental design used two primary pulley angles (standard 14° and modified 13.5°) and three roller types (standard, 12 g sliding, 10 g sliding). Performance tests were conducted on a chassis dynamometer over 3000–9000 rpm with three repetitions for each configuration. The combination of a 13.5° primary pulley and a 10 g sliding roller increased maximum power from 7.35 kW to 9.52 kW, or about 22.8% above the standard configuration, while the highest torque of 11.70 Nm was obtained from the 13.5° pulley with standard rollers. These findings show that appropriate pulley-angle adjustment and roller configuration can optimize CVT transmission and support efficient and economical tuning strategies.

Abstract

Penggunaan sepeda motor yang terus meningkat berkontribusi pada pencemaran udara melalui emisi gas buang. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh pemasangan Ignition Booster tipe plasma pada sistem pengapian terhadap emisi gas buang sepeda motor Honda Beat FI 2013. Penelitian deskriptif-eksperimental ini dilakukan pada kondisi putaran idle menggunakan four-gas analyzer, dengan tiga kali pengulangan untuk kondisi standar dan setelah pemasangan Ignition Booster. Hasil menunjukkan penurunan emisi karbon monoksida (CO) sebesar 23,52% (0,513% menjadi 0,39%), hidrokarbon (HC) 11,05% (60,33 ppm menjadi 53,66 ppm), dan karbon dioksida (CO₂) 2,12% (4,7% menjadi 4,6%), sementara kadar oksigen (O₂) meningkat 49,63% (8,18% menjadi 12,24%). Seluruh nilai emisi berada jauh di bawah ambang batas standar Euro 3. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penguatan energi percikan melalui Ignition Booster mampu meningkatkan kualitas pembakaran dan berpotensi menjadi solusi retrofit sederhana untuk menurunkan emisi kendaraan roda dua. The rapid growth of motorcycle use substantially contributes to urban air pollution through exhaust emissions. This study examines the effect of installing a plasma-type Ignition Booster on the ignition system of a Honda Beat FI 2013 motorcycle on its exhaust-gas composition. A descriptive experimental design was applied at idle speed using a four-gas analyzer, with three repeated measurements for the baseline and booster conditions. The Ignition Booster reduced carbon monoxide (CO) emissions by 23.52% (0.513% to 0.39%), hydrocarbons (HC) by 11.05% (60.33 ppm to 53.66 ppm), and carbon dioxide (CO₂) by 2.12% (4.7% to 4.6%), while oxygen (O₂) concentration increased by 49.63% (8.18% to 12.24%). All emission levels were well below the Euro 3 limits. These findings indicate that strengthening spark energy via an Ignition Booster improves combustion quality and offers a simple retrofit strategy to reduce emissions from existing two-wheeled vehicles.
