Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) Community contribution in overcoming inadequate environmental infrastructure, 2) Community contribution in overcoming bad house arrangement and environmental public facilities, 3) Community contribution in overcoming unattractive building façade models. This type of research is classified as Mix Methods. The population of this research is the people of RT 004 Rimbo Kaluang sub-district with a total population of 90 households with 73 subjects. Collecting data using questionnaires, documentation and interviews. The data analysis used was two approaches, namely qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results of this study indicate that in order to overcome inadequate environmental infrastructure, the community will repair it together through community contributions, or ask for assistance to Musrembang which is submitted to the village head office. To overcome the poor arrangement of houses and public facilities, there is still no contribution from the community, because the community only contributes to improving the economy, namely by building stalls to sell. To overcome the unattractive building facade model, the community also contributes less because the status of the land there is illegal, so the community builds just for an emergency and does not meet proper housing standards.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the earthquake hazard levels in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province, by identifying the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) values and the distribution of earthquake hazard levels. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive analysis and spatial analysis. The method employed in this study is Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA). To determine the Peak Ground Acceleration values, parameters such as earthquake location, occurrence time, and earthquake magnitude are used. For determining the earthquake hazard distribution, data on Ground Amplification Factor (GAF) is utilized. The results of this study show that the distribution of Peak Ground Acceleration in the study area ranges from 0.17 g to 0.93 g. The value of 0.17 g is found in Koto XI Tarusan District, while the highest value is observed in Silaut District. Additionally, the distribution of earthquake hazard levels shows that areas with low hazard level cover 697.04 km², moderate hazard level covers 4150.49 km², and high hazard level covers 1201.81 km². This study provides earthquake hazard maps that can be used for mitigation and planning in the region.

Abstract

This article aims to enhance teachers' skills in creating interactive learning media and to improve teachers' understanding of pedagogical aspects that can be seen in the lesson planning process, especially in the selection of models or methods and learning media. This activity was conducted at Building B, Room 23302, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Padang, using training methods, question and answer sessions, and practical exercises. Participants in this activity included Geography subject teachers from senior high schools in Padang City. The activity included training on how to design effective learning media and also provided training on creating interactive learning media on the topic of Lithosphere for high school geography teachers in Padang City. The training, conducted together with the Geography subject teachers, resulted in the creation of three-dimensional learning media and improved the teachers' skills in creating three-dimensional Lithosphere learning media. Through this training, teachers experienced an improvement in their understanding of pedagogical aspects, especially in lesson planning (RPP), particularly in the selection of models and learning media. Geography teachers also gained a better understanding of the competencies required to design and use media effectively, enabling them to create quality, efficient, and interactive learning experiences.

Abstract

Natural disasters floods are the most common disasters found almost everywhere, floods can cause damage and can even take lives. The city of Padang is often hit by flood disasters which result in damage and loss for those affected. This research aims to 1) To find out the results of identifying flood-prone areas by utilizing remote sensing and spatial analysis techniques in Padang City; 2) To determine the level of flood vulnerability by utilizing remote sensing and spatial analysis techniques in Padang City. This research uses an overlay method which combines several parameters. Parameters for identifying areas that have the potential for flooding in this research include slope, rainfall, land use, elevation, soil type, and river buffer. Each of these parameters is given a different scoring value and weight, then an overlay analysis is carried out and a flood hazard map will be produced as a result of the combination of parameters used. After obtaining the results from the overlay analysis of all parameters, the map of potential flood areas will be divided into 3 vulnerability classes, namely low, medium and high vulnerability classes. The results of the research are that the low vulnerability class has an area of 33854.4 ha with a percentage of 49% of the total area of Padang City, the medium vulnerability class has an area of 26337.6 with a percentage of 38.2% of the total area, and the high vulnerability class has an area of 8823.3 ha with a percentage of 12.8% of the total area.
