Abstract

In this era, the use of social media is increasingly being used by the community, especially among adolescents and adults. However, the use of social media is very widespread. And this depends on the person using it. If social media is used properly, such as as a means of preaching, then this is very good. Therefore, if a preacher wants to spread his message, a preacher must first have a social media account, either Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc. The use of social media must be in accordance with the teachings of Islamic law. Providing positive things such as preaching, then this can be a reward that is generous in the future. Therefore, to obtain accurate data in this paper, the library method is used by searching, collecting, and analyzing relevant books. Keywords: media, social, da'wah

Abstract

Humans are social beings who interact with each other. The form of this interaction can be reflected in the form of communication. Communication is used to convey certain intentions from one person to another through language, be it verbal, written or sign language. Without language, it will be difficult for us to convey our intentions or goals to others and to establish relationships in everyday life. This study uses a qualitative method, namely where reference sources are obtained from literature studies originating from articles, journals, opinions of experts and researchers who first examine Indonesian language communication which is used as a unifying nation. Keywords: Communication, Indonesian and Unifying Language.

Abstract

Semiotics is one of the most interpretive methods of communication research in analyzing texts, and its success or failure as a method rests on how well researchers are able to articulate the cases they study. The semiotic tradition consists of a set of theories about how signs represent things, ideas, circumstances, situations, feelings, and conditions beyond the signs themselves. The study of signs not only provides a way of looking at communication, but has had a strong influence on almost all perspectives of communication theory. The basic concept that unifies the semiotic tradition, the sign which is defined as a stimulus that signifies or denotes some other condition, such as when smoke indicates the presence of fire, a symbol which usually signifies a complex sign with many meanings, including very special meanings. Some experts make a strong distinction between signs and symbols. Signs in reality have a clear reference to something, while symbols do not. Semiotics has the advantage of producing textured "thick descriptions" and complex analyses. Keywords: semiotics, signs and symbols

Abstract

This article aims to analyze and explore the central role of new media in shaping and pioneering the dynamics of multiculturality in Indonesia. Data shows that the bullying and discrimination that exists in Indonesia indicates that the homo virtualis of the Indonesian nation are experiencing an identity crisis. The urgency of this research is how new media can catalyze a national identity crisis and pose a threat to cultural diversity, especially in Indonesia. This article uses qualitative research with a case study approach. The primary data source for this article is 9,996 tweets from Twitter netizens regarding the identity crisis. Secondary data in this research are articles, books and scientific reports relating to the theme. The data was then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The research results show that the dynamics of national identity in Indonesia have entered a crisis phase. The identity crisis in Indonesia is still dry of educational touches, so it never touches on substantial context. Then, the author found that the identity crisis that occurred in Indonesia occurred due to several factors, namely: 1) Globalization and modernization, 2) Regional disparities, 3) Ethnic and religious conflicts, 4) Lack of multicultural education, and 5) Influence of information and media. However, the author believes there are opportunities to alleviate this crisis through several constructive indicators: the Development of Intercultural Communication Literacy, the Use of Media as an Educational Means, Cross-Cultural Collaboration in Social Media, and anti-Apartheid Curriculum. The novelty of this research lies in a deeper understanding of the role of new media as agents of influence, sources of potential conflict, and opportunities to strengthen cultural diversity.

Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze and explore the communication phenomena related to the normalization of OnlyFans on Twitter. The dynamics of pornography on social media are a concerning issue. The emergence of several platforms has led to an escalation of pornography content accessible to the public. Moreover, pornography has become more intimate and personal with the advent of OnlyFans as a new type of transactional pornography on social media. The urgency of this research is to examine the OnlyFans normalization phenomenon using a communication perspective. This study employs a qualitative method with a field study approach. The research paradigm is critical with a media analysis context. The primary data source in this study are millions of Twitter user tweets indicating OnlyFans escalation, while the secondary data used are expert opinions, regulations, scientific articles, and books supporting the research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The collected data will then be analyzed using Miles and Huberman's techniques, which include data collection, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. Data validity testing is performed using triangulation techniques. The research findings show that the escalation of OnlyFans on Twitter has seen significant growth. In Indonesia, Twitter is used only for promotion by OnlyFans creators. Cumulatively, the sentiment that emerges tends to be neutral towards the presence of OnlyFans. However, this sentiment is not absolute as it brings concerns, such as: 1) Digital transformation of desires, 2) Shadow industry, 3) Risk of exploitation, 4) Pandora's box of desires, and 5) Social values. The dynamics of OnlyFans in Indonesia have spurred active discussions, sentiments, perceptions, promotions, ethics, and social norms. The communication phenomena arising from OnlyFans in this study include: 1) Democratization of pornography, 2) Destigmatization of sexuality, 3) Personalization of pornography, 4) Influence of social media, and 5) Debates and regulations. These phenomena can be mitigated through collective intelligence-based digital campaigns
