Abstract

Rice prices play a crucial role in Indonesia’s economic stability and public welfare, as rice remains the country’s primary staple food commodity. Price fluctuations are influenced by various internal factors, such as production and stock levels, as well as external factors like exchange rates and import volume. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting rice prices in Indonesia during the period of January to November 2024. The data used are monthly time-series secondary data obtained from the Badan Pangan Nasional, Badan Pusat Statistik, and Bank Indonesia. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression with six independent variables: production volume, demand, import volume, exchange rate, 2023 rice price, and national rice stock, and one dependent variable, the 2024 rice price. The results show that all independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on rice prices, with an F-value of 9.042 and a significance level of 0.026 (<0.05). Partially, production volume and national rice stock have a significant influence on rice prices, while other variables show no significant effect. The adjusted R² value of 0.842 indicates that 84.2% of the variation in rice prices is explained by the model, with the remainder influenced by external factors. These findings confirm that domestic factors, particularly production and national rice stock, are the main determinants of rice price stability in Indonesia.

Abstract

The growing number of cut chrysanthemum farmers in Bandungan District has intensified competition in the flower market. This study investigates 1) to identify the characteristics of consumers who purchase cut chrysanthemums at Bandungan Flower Market  2) the influence of product quality, service quality, income, price, and consumer preferences on purchasing decisions for cut chrysanthemums at Bandungan Flower Market, Semarang Regency. A survey was conducted in March–April 2025 involving 120 respondents, selected through accidental sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression with SPSS 25. The results indicate that most consumers are female, aged 21–30 years, with senior high school education, an income range of IDR 2,234,953–3,435,464, and a purchasing frequency of twice. The model fit test yielded a chi-square value of 1.403 and a Nagelkerke R square of 0.833, suggesting a strong explanatory power of the model. The omnibus test showed a chi-square value of 84.048, confirming that the examined factors jointly affect purchasing decisions. Further analysis using the Wald test revealed that product quality, consumer preferences, price, and income significantly influence purchasing decisions, whereas service quality has no significant effect. These findings highlight the importance of improving product attributes and aligning with consumer preferences to enhance competitiveness in the cut chrysanthemum market.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of risk management training on hazard reporting behavior at PT. Alda Trans Papua, a high-risk aviation company. Hazard reporting is a critical indicator in the Safety Management System (SMS), yet the effectiveness of the training provided has never been evaluated in depth. Using a descriptive qualitative method through observation, semi-structured interviews with five training participants from various job levels (managers, supervisors, and staff), and documentation studies, this research aims to analyze the impact of training and identify factors influencing post-training reporting behavior. The findings indicate that risk management training positively increases employee awareness and proactive behavior in identifying and reporting potential hazards. Employees gain a better understanding of the importance of early risk identification as part of accident prevention. However, the implementation of reporting in the field still faces obstacles in the form of work practices that deviate from procedures (practical drift), external factors, and a poorly digitized reporting system. This research confirms that the success of reporting depends not only on training but also on three key factors: strong management commitment, an easily accessible reporting system, and a supportive safety culture (just culture). To maximize the impact of training, it is recommended to develop an integrated digital reporting system, enhance synergy between departments, and consistently apply the principles of just culture so that employees feel safe reporting without fear of blame. Future training should also be equipped with applicable visual examples through closer collaboration between the safety and operations teams.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract. Fathurohman F, Ekowati T, Gayatri S, Adiwinarti R, Nurtanti I, Fajri NA, Mukminah N, Rahmawati R. 2026. Transformational leadership and field-level accountability in smallholder beef cattle development under environmental uncertainty. Asian J Agric 10 (1): g100143. https://doi.org/10.13057/asianjagric/g100143. Accountability within Indonesia’s smallholder beef cattle development program (SIKOMANDAN) is crucial for ensuring national meat security, yet program implementation frequently faces complex field-level challenges such as biological risks and resource instability. This study investigates the institutional determinants of program accountability, focusing on the direct effects of System Integrity (SI), Internal Control Systems (ICS), and Transformational Leadership (TL), alongside the moderating roles of Organizational Commitment (OC) and Environmental Uncertainty (EU). A quantitative survey was conducted using a purposive sampling technique in Subang District, West Java, Indonesia, involving 125 local government officials and agricultural extension workers. Empirical data were evaluated using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to test both direct and interaction effects. The results show that Transformational Leadership (β = 0.458, p < 0.001) and System Integrity (β = 0.392, p < 0.001) significantly enhance accountability, with the model explaining 76.4% of variance (R² = 0.764). In contrast, the Internal Control System has no significant direct effect (β = -0.017, p = 0.814). Organizational Commitment emerges as a significant independent predictor (β = 0.512, p < 0.001) rather than a moderator. Environmental Uncertainty shows no direct effect but indicates a borderline negative effect on internal controls (β = -0.135, p = 0.058). These findings highlight that accountability in livestock governance is driven more by leadership and system integrity than by formal control mechanisms alone. Strengthening adaptive governance through leadership development and flexible operational procedures is essential for program effectiveness in volatile agricultural contexts.
