Abstract

The development of digital technology and the unique characteristics of Generation Z have driven the need for innovation in Indonesian language learning, particularly to improve the speaking skills of junior high school students. Conventional learning methods are often ineffective in building student confidence, creativity, and active participation. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of synergy between theater, speech recognition technology, and chatbots as a more interactive and relevant learning innovation. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, this study collected data through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and a pilot test of the teaching module. The results showed significant improvements in students' speaking skills, including fluency, clarity, and argument structure. Students became more confident, creative, and engaged, thanks to the automatic feedback from the speech recognition technology and adaptive conversational practice provided by the chatbot. This innovative module also increases student motivation and engagement, supports the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, and the development of 21st-century skills. This synergy has proven effective and can be widely adopted to create more personalized learning that meets the demands of the digital age.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, customer satisfaction is one of the key benchmarks for assessing the quality of services in various sectors, including education. The development of a Service Excellence model aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction in schools is crucial to achieving educational quality. This model not only focuses on the service aspect but also encompasses improvements in teaching quality and parental involvement in the educational process. Therefore, the implementation of this model is expected to create a better learning environment and encourage collaboration among all stakeholders to achieve optimal educational goals. The application of this model also provides schools with the opportunity to adapt to the needs and expectations of students and parents, resulting in a more relevant and fulfilling educational experience. Consequently, collaboration between schools, students, and parents becomes a vital factor in creating an innovative and responsive learning atmosphere. By integrating technology into education and supporting efficient communication, schools can build a more engaging and suitable learning experience for students. Innovation in curriculum and teaching methods can also enhance student creativity, preparing them to face future challenges with better skills and a deeper understanding of a constantly changing world. Ongoing evaluation should not be overlooked, as it allows schools to adjust their strategies and ensure that every student receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

Abstract

The current state of teacher literacy in Indonesia continues to face various challenges, ranging from limited conceptual understanding of literacy as a multidimensional construct to constraints in applying digital literacy in the learning process. Many teachers still interpret literacy narrowly as the ability to read and write, without linking it to critical thinking skills, reflective capacity, and proficiency in information technology-competencies that are essential in the 21st-century educational ecosystem. At SMP Islam Al-Atrawiyah Ganding, this issue has become a major focus in efforts to improve the quality of education based on Islamic values that are responsive to technological advancement. This study aims to enhance teacher literacy by strengthening their understanding of literacy in a comprehensive and contextual manner. The literacy in question includes pedagogical literacy, digital literacy, and values-based literacy (ethics and Islamic spirituality), all of which are integrated into teaching practices. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Findings show that a deep conceptual understanding of literacy forms a crucial foundation for developing innovative and relevant teaching strategies. Teacher training that emphasizes the conceptual dimensions of literacy can improve reflective awareness, ICT skills, and commitment to educational transformation. This article recommends the formulation of school policies that focus on the continuous and collaborative strengthening of teacher literacy as a key to fostering an inclusive, critical, and transformative learning environment in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of democratic leadership in managing student discipline at the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation and document analysis. The research results show that democratic leadership in Islamic boarding schools facilitates the active participation of students in the decision-making process regarding disciplinary policies. Open discussions, deliberations and participatory meetings provide a forum where students can voice their opinions and ideas. In addition, this research identifies the impact of implementing democratic leadership where students show an increase in compliance with the rules created together. They feel more responsible for their self-discipline and feel valued by the Islamic boarding school environment. However, there are also obstacles, such as differences in interpretations of Islamic values and challenges in maintaining a balance between students' autonomy and collective discipline. Thus, this research makes an essential contribution to understanding the practice of democratic leadership at the Babussalam Islamic boarding school and describes its impact on the character formation and discipline of the students. The implications of the results of this research highlight the importance of maintaining traditional values while introducing a participatory approach that is in line with the demands of the times, creating an educational environment that is inclusive and responsive to the needs of students, and enriching the discourse on Islamic education in Indonesia.
