Abstract

The Hajj and Umrah travel service industry relies heavily on employee performance to deliver professional and high-quality services. However, accurate performance evaluation requires measurement instruments that are empirically validated and reliable. The main problem addressed in this study is the lack of empirical evidence regarding the validity and reliability of employee performance and work motivation measurement instruments used in Hajj and Umrah travel companies. This study aims to examine the validity and reliability of the measurement instruments for employee performance and work motivation. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire distributed to 32 employees. The instrument was developed based on Robbins’ (2006) performance indicators, Moeheriono’s (2012) contextual performance concept, and Self-Determination Theory proposed by Deci and Ryan (2017). Data analysis was conducted using Pearson Product Moment validity testing and Cronbach’s Alpha reliability testing with IBM SPSS. The results indicate that all 24 questionnaire items are valid, with correlation coefficients exceeding the r-table value (0.349) and statistically significant at ? = 0.05. The reliability test produced a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.940, indicating very high internal consistency. These findings confirm that the instrument is valid, reliable, and appropriate for measuring employee performance and work motivation in Hajj and Umrah travel service companies.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited development of chatbot-based expert systems that integrate rule-based reasoning and conceptual guidance for direct current (DC) circuit analysis learning in electrical engineering education. The study aimed to develop and evaluate a chatbot-based expert system designed to support students’ conceptual understanding of DC circuit analysis. A Research and Development (RD) approach employing the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) was applied in this study. The effectiveness evaluation used a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 25 undergraduate students from an Electrical Engineering Education program. The developed system was validated by one electrical engineering expert and two educational media experts before implementation. The validation results showed high validity across all evaluated aspects, with Aiken’s V values categorized as very valid. The practicality test indicated that the system was highly practical, achieving a mean score of 4.32 out of 5.00 (86.3%). The effectiveness test showed improvement in students’ learning outcomes, reflected by a normalized gain (N-gain) score of 0.32 in the moderate category. In addition, the paired sample t-test demonstrated a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p 0.001). Although the study was conducted with a limited sample and without a control group, the findings indicate that the chatbot-based expert system showed potential to support students’ conceptual understanding and procedural learning in DC circuit analysis. This study contributes to the development of AI-assisted learning media in vocational and engineering education, particularly in supporting interactive and concept-oriented learning environments.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the effect of E-Service Quality on E-Trust and E-Satisfaction among Generation Z ShopeePay users in West Sumatra, as well as to investigate the mediating role of E-Trust in the relationship between E-Service Quality and E-Satisfaction. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 400 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach with SmartPLS 4 software. The results revealed that E-Service Quality has a positive and significant effect on E-Trust (β = 0.582; p < 0.001) and E-Satisfaction (β = 0.359; p < 0.001). Furthermore, E-Trust was found to have a positive and significant effect on E-Satisfaction (β = 0.363; p < 0.001). The mediation analysis indicated that E-Trust partially mediates the relationship between E-Service Quality and E-Satisfaction, with an indirect effect value of 0.211 (p < 0.001). These findings suggest that improving electronic service quality can enhance user satisfaction both directly and indirectly through increased user trust in ShopeePay. This study contributes to the digital marketing and consumer behavior literature and provides practical insights for digital wallet service providers in improving service quality, strengthening user trust, and increasing customer satisfaction. Abstract

Rising demand for make-up artist (MUA) services has pushed clients to expect more than technical skill ethical, professional conduct now matters just as much. Yet a preliminary survey found that prospective MUAs often struggle with punctuality, client communication, and tool hygiene, prompting this inquiry into whether their grasp of professional ethics shapes how professionally they behave. Using a quantitative descriptive design, this study surveyed 124 Cosmetology and Beauty students (2022-2023 cohorts) at Universitas Negeri Padang, selected via the Slovin formula and proportionate stratified random sampling. A validated, reliable Likert questionnaire supplied the data, which were tested for normality and linearity before running simple linear regression, a t-test, and the coefficient of determination. Both variables scored in the good category (ethics understanding: M = 91.49, SD = 18.85; professionalism attitude: M = 62.38, SD = 12.90). Regression yielded Y = 15.845 + 0.509X (t = 12.266, p < .001), with ethics understanding explaining 55.2% of the variance in professionalism attitude (R² = .552) a significant, positive relationship that underscores the need for sustained ethics instruction in beauty vocational curricula.
