Young children with disabilities are a group that is prone to stigma anddiscrimination. Therefore, World Health Organization and United Nations Children’sFund declared a global agenda in 2012 to address the needs of inclusive ECCD to improve the participation and development of young children with disabilities. In respond to that agenda, it is crucial to understand the particular needs of young children with emotional disorder such as their communication ability, before they can be included into inclusive ECCD service. This research aims to describe the communication skills of young child with emotional disorder in Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The participant in this study showed insignificant performance in verbal communication skills like linguistic content, structures and the use of language. Meanwhile in non verbal communication skills such as face expression, body gesture and hand gesture, the child showed considerable performance. The research method used qualitative method, which is direct observation to the child and interview to thesubject’s parents. Parents and ECCD tutors should consider to set a communication- stimulating relationship in house and ECCD post to support the verbal skills development. The result of this study can give impact in the development of inclusive ECCD science in East Nusa Tenggara, also to aid future research in inventing best practice models in the field.

Female adults in East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur; NTT) are at risk to be victims of national and international human trafficking. This research describes the motives, psychological impacts, and supports perceived by adult female victims from NTT. Qualitative approach was applied with thematic analysis as the analysis method. Participants were five victims of human trafficking aged between 21 – 37 years old who have returned to NTT. It was found that participants were motivated to worked outside NTT due to economical, familial, and social reasons, while some other participants also reported being forced to work abroad. The perceived psychological impacts were maladaptive behaviors, deep sadness, helplessness, and being ashamed by stigma associated with being victims. Supports that were positively meaningful were the opportunity to share with other victims and to have a counseling sessions with mental health practitioners. Initiative to improve mental health services is indispensable as a base to combat human trafficking and to support victims.

Ayah turut memberikan kontribusi penting bagi perkembangan anak. Walaupun penelitian tentang peran ayah sudah semakin terus meningkat selama beberapa dekade terakhir ini tetapi hasilnya masih kontradiksi. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran deskriptif persepsi ayah dalam pengasuhan anak usia dini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa para ayah telah memahami makna pengasuhan sebagai bentuk keterlibatan ayah dalam mengasuh anak usia dini. Meskipun orientasi pengasuhan yang dimaksud para partisipan adalah interaksi fisik dan tanggung jawab, pengasuhan sudah dipahami sebagai tanggung jawab bersama antara ayah dan ibu (coparenting). Motivasi ayah dalam mengasuh sendiri masih didasarkan karena alasan bisa melakukan pengasuhan jika ibu berhalangan. Jika ayah melakukan pengasuhan dengan alasan yang demikian maka pengasuhan yang seperti ini menciptakan jarak antara ayah dan anak, akibatnya perkembangan anak selanjutnya tidak optimal. This study aimed to provide an overview of the diet of students during the COVID-19 pandemic, socioeconomicstatus, the physical activities undertook the practiced COVID-19 prevention behavior, and student health.The sample size obtained was 253 participants, who were new students for the 2020/2021 academic year.Structural equation modeling was used for statistical analysis. Students could access nutritious food, but itwas not followed by regular daily exercise. Students were also found to have good COVID-19 preventionbehavior, for example using masks, washing hands, and coughing and sneezing etiquette, but only 41% ofstudents had sufficient rest or sleep.Students have a good level of health, despite lacking physical activities.COVID-19 preventive behavior and socioeconomic status indirectly had an impact on student health. Theright policies are necessary to improve student health.

This research aimsto know the bioactive compound content of Moringa leaves and seeds so that later it can be developed as a candidate for anticancer drugs. The extraction process results showed n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol extract levels in the Moringa leaves, respectively; 11.38%; 25.56%, and 40.1%. TheLC50valuesoftheethylacetateextractofMoringaleavesandseedswere127.95 ppm and 117.52 ppm. Furthermore, the LC 50 values of the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves and seeds were 34.58 and 60.69 ppm. The levels of bioactive compounds of the ethyl acetate extract of Moringa leaves and seeds were 137.5 ppm and 6.5 ppm. Based on the anticancer activity test results, all extracts of both Moringa leaves and seeds have potent anticancer activity (<1000 ppm). The n-hexane extract and the ethanol extract of Moringa leave from Kupangcan be developed as ananticancer.

This study aims to determine the media used in obtaining health information about COVID-19 and the reasons for choosing the media. The theory used is Information-seeking Behavior. This research is qualitative with the phenomenological method. The informants were 38 people who were selected based on the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out utilizing in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is Creswell’s data analysis in phenomenological research. The results showed that the media used to find health information about COVID-19 were printed mass media (newspapers, magazines, and tabloids), electronic media (television, radio), and internet media. Meanwhile, choosing the media was due to the ease of accessing existing media and the diversity of information obtained.

Attendance rates of children with disabilities are predicted to be lower than other children. Especially for the young children with disabilities. Besides of the reason that it is not easy to detect the disability from earlier, there are not many institutions that provided specialized programs for young children with special needs, one of them is children with autism. This research aims to describe prosocial characteristics of young children with autism. Employed approach were qualitative with observation and interview as the data gathering techniques. Results shown that young children with autism showed prosocial behaviour patterns that is expression from mimicking teacher or parent, able to greet friends when directed by teacher and parent, willing to socialize with other persons, and showing participation in a group as in working together and behaving according to norms, even though all mentioned behaviours were directed by teacher and parent

Psychology field in Indonesia has grown for years and its publications have spread in various academic media. The aim of this study was to locate existing literature in a database with solid reputation to give insight about the current progress of psychology in Indonesia. A literature search of PsycINFO database was performed. There were no date or language restrictions. Narrative analysis was used to synthesize findings. Seventy articles were identified from the search terms and four articles were considered relevant. Three of the four relevant studies were focused in the subfield of cross-cultural psychology. Some patterns of publishing in both relevant and irrelevant articles were found and discussed. This study is considered among the first scoping study that has been done in Indonesian context.

Individual self-concept is manifested in things that is related to that individual. Views about one’s self, self-evaluation, and expectation to one’s self formed the individual self-concept. Awareness of self-concept from the view of psychology would help a good and positive self-concept. This positive self-concept would in turn develop positive behaviours and interactions in daily life. This article discuss the concept of self-concept from psychological literatures and perspective. Dimensions, aspects, and factors of self-concept would be discussed and related to children’s situation in late childhood stage. Parents, teachers, and also the surrounding environment have important role in shaping self-concept of children. Social support and positive behavior model from the children’s closest persons and also the community will help in creating positive self-concept that in turn will support the transition to teenager phase. This article hopefully will be able to stimulate researcher to conduct further relevant research concerning children’s self-concept.

One of the psychotheraphy approaches that has given positive contributions to the psychiatry is Carl Rogers Client-Centered approach. One of three main conditions that Rogers emphasizes in the approach is Unconditional positive regard. The main condition is called as the curative factor of client-centered theraphy. The article is discussing the study process of unconditional positive regard concept in a person which the sample is the female students. Questions and process flow scheme are also discussed in this article. The study concept is regarded to be able to contribute knowedge to the counseling practitioners in case of facing the student’s problem.
