Abstract

Aims: Critical patients in ICU and HCU often experience poor sleep due to excessive stress and various symptoms like environmental factors, pain, noise, anxiety, and physical discomfort. Foot massage and natural music interventions can help meet their sleep needs, providing a relaxing effect and improving physical and psychological conditions. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of providing combination therapy of foot massage and natural music therapy in Dr. Hospital's peacock room Salamun 2023. Methods:  This type of research is pre-experimental with a pre-post test of one group and uses the Richard Champbell Sleep Questionnaire (RCSQ). Then the data was processed using a paired sample T-test. The sample in this study is 16 respondents. Results: The results of the statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.01, meaning that there was an effect between the pretest and posttest of the combination of foot massage and natural music therapy on the quality of sleep in critical patients in the peacock room at Dr. Salamun Hospital, Bandung City, 2023. Conclusions : the conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of foot massage therapy and natural music on the sleep quality of critical patients as shown by the results of measuring the quality of critical patients before and after consecutive interventions with massage of both feet combined with natural music. For 10 minutes it has been proven to be able to improve sleep quality in critically ill patients so that this intervention can be applied as a therapy to improve sleep quality.

Abstract

Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. One of the complications of stroke isfatigue post stroke (FPS), where the prevalence ranges from 25% -85%. The mechanism of FPS is notestablished yet, it might be caused by physical and mental fatigue. Factors that causes FPS includephysical disability and psychological disorders. Both physical and non-physical interventions have notbeen proven to be effective in treating FPS. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of nonphysical interventions in overcoming FPS. Literature review was used in this study by searching articlesusing the 3 database, namely Scopus, Ebsco, and Science Direct with the keywords fatigue post stroke, nonphysical intervention, and stroke management. Inclusion criteria are full text journals in English, humanintervention, Randomize Control Trial (RCT) or Quasi experiment research, journals published from 2015-2020 and studies that measure FPS levels as their main objectives. The results of the literature study foundfive RCT articles that fit the inclusion criteria. Three types of intervention were obtained in these articles, there were psychostimulant drugs, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and psychology intervention.Although not all interventions show significant results, interventions with modafinil, Cognitive BehavioralTherapy and TCM can improve FPS. The results of the literature review can be used as evidence based forfatigue management of stroke patients

Abstract

Background: Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability and death worldwide. Recent advances in rehabilitation technology have introduced exergaming, a form of interactive physical therapy using digital games, as a promising intervention to enhance motor recovery. Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of smartphone and virtual reality based exergaming on mobility of stroke patients. Method: Systematic review research and article search were conducted through ScienceDirect, ProQuest, EBSCOhost (Medline), SAGE Journals, and PubMed databases. The review and synthesis process used the PRISMA diagram guide. Results: Based on the review of 7 literatures obtained, it shows that the majority reported significant improvements in patient mobility after exergaming interventions, especially those using smartphone applications and virtual reality (VR) platforms. Conclusion: Smartphone-based exergaming and virtual reality (VR) are effective and attractive therapeutic approaches to improve mobility in stroke rehabilitation.   Keywords: Exergaming; Mobility;  Smartphone; Stroke Patients; Virtual Reality.   Pendahuluan: Stroke adalah penyebab utama kecacatan dan kematian jangka panjang di seluruh dunia. Abstract

Stroke is a clinical condition in the form of focal and global neurological deficits that develop rapidly and cause death, characterized by blockage and rupture of blood vessels. The 2022 World Stroke Organization annual report states that 12.2 million people worldwide experienced a stroke and 6.6 million of them died, the prevalence of stroke increased by 85%, deaths due to stroke increased by 43% and people with disabilities (DALYs) due to stroke increased by 32%. The problems faced by stroke sufferers are likely to continue to increase and post-stroke complications need to be treated in order to extend life expectancy better. In stroke care, emphasis is placed on intensive medical care and rehabilitation benefits in the acute phase, but care and support in the later stages is just as important as treatment acute phase. People who have long-term health conditions, such as stroke patients, should learning new behaviors or adapting lifestyle to suit their needs. Improving self-management is an important challenge for service systems health worldwide for survival in long-term conditions. Telehealth provides a viable alternative in healthcare, helping clients manage their conditions through improved self-care and access to education and support systems. Additionally, clients and healthcare professionals can exchange important clinical information remotely for the management and support of patients with chronic diseases. This research aims to (1) identify the intervention components of self-management programs for stroke sufferers, (2) identify types of telehealth based self-management programs, and (3) identify the impact of providing telehealth-based self management programs for stroke sufferers. This research uses a systematic review design with the PRISMA flow diagram. Researchers used PICO, articles published from 2014 to May 2024 in English. Searches came from 5 online databases, namely "PubMed", "ProQuest", "Science Direct", "Scopus", and "Embase". Research used the Research used the physiotherapy evidence database Research used the physiotherapy evidence database skala tool to assess the quality of research article. The initial search yielded 422 articles that were further screened. There are 21 articles for eligibility assessment. After full text review, 8 articles remained that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were used for this systematic review. Eight high-quality articles support telehealth-based self-management as an effective method for caring for patients with stroke.
