Abstract

This research is motivated by the challenges of internalizing Pancasila values among sociology education students through an approach relevant to the local cultural context. One potential medium is the values of Presean culture, which can enrich the teaching of Pancasila ideology. The purpose of this study is to analyse the role of Presean cultural values in social learning and their contribution to strengthening students’ understanding of Pancasila. The study employed a qualitative approach with 15 participants consisting of sociology education students, lecturers, and local cultural figures. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then examined using a descriptive-interpretative method. The findings reveal that the internalisation of Presean values-such as courage, sportsmanship, and adherence to rules-positively enhances students’ comprehension of Pancasila principles. In addition, this culturally based learning increases students’ awareness of unity, social justice, and respect for human rights. These results suggest that integrating Presean cultural values into social education can serve as an effective alternative for strengthening Pancasila ideology among the younger generation.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pengetahuan dan keterampilan warga dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya lokal melalui pembuatan minyak cengkeh. Desa Santong sebagai wilayah dengan potensi tanaman cengkeh yang cukup memadai memiliki peluang besar untuk pengembangan produk berbasis bahan alam. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui penyuluhan, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pemahaman manfaat kesehatan minyak cengkeh, keterampilan teknis pembuatannya, serta kepercayaan diri masyarakat dalam mengaplikasikannya. Respons peserta cenderung positif, ditandai dengan keterlibatan aktif dalam diskusi dan praktik. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi pengetahuan ilmiah dengan praktik lokal dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis kesehatan dan ekonomi.

Abstract

This article examines the Perang Topat ritual as a cultural-historical practice representing interreligious harmony in West Lombok, a region where Sasak and Balinese communities have long interacted, forming a distinctive socio-religious configuration. Held in Lingsar, the ritual functions not only as a religious tradition but also as a cultural mechanism for managing differences in identity, social tensions, and shared interests related to vital water resources. The study focuses on the historical context, ritual structure, symbolic meanings, and social functions of Perang Topat in sustaining intercommunal harmony. Employing a qualitative approach grounded in ethnography and cultural history, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The findings reveal that the ritual serves as a space for symbolic communication, social integration, and conflict management between Hindu and Wetu Telu Islam communities. Perang Topat demonstrates that harmony is a product of socio-historical negotiation and remains relevant as a living cultural heritage for strengthening social cohesion in Indonesia’s multicultural society.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya kapasitas literasi guru dalam mendukung pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada pengembangan berpikir kritis siswa. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kompetensi literasi guru SMA melalui pelatihan yang dirancang secara partisipatif dan kontekstual. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahapan identifikasi kebutuhan, penyampaian materi literasi dan pembelajaran berpikir kritis, simulasi pembelajaran, serta evaluasi. Kegiatan melibatkan 15 guru SMA sebagai peserta aktif dalam seluruh rangkaian pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep literasi dan implementasinya dalam pembelajaran, khususnya dalam merancang aktivitas yang mendorong analisis, evaluasi, dan refleksi siswa. Selain itu, peserta menunjukkan kemampuan awal dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis berpikir kritis. Kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa penguatan literasi melalui pelatihan dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan keberlanjutan program melalui pendampingan dan penguatan komunitas belajar guru untuk memastikan implementasi yang konsisten dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The internalisation of Pancasila values among sociology education students often lacks contextual relevance to local culture. One potential approach is through the values of Presean culture, which can enhance the teaching of Pancasila ideology. The aim of this study is to analyse the role of internalising Presean cultural values in social learning and its impact on strengthening Pancasila ideology among sociology education students. The research methodology employed is a qualitative approach, utilising data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and document studies. Analysis is conducted using a descriptive-interpretative approach to explore the meanings and impacts of Presean culture within the context of Pancasila education. The findings indicate that the internalisation of Presean cultural values, such as courage, sportsmanship, and adherence to rules, significantly contributes to enhancing students' understanding of the principles of Pancasila. Furthermore, this culturally-based learning has successfully raised students’ awareness of the importance of unity, social justice, and respect for human rights. Therefore, the integration of Presean cultural values into social education can serve as an effective alternative for strengthening Pancasila ideology among the younger generation.

Abstract

This research explores the traditional Tambur art of the Sasak community as a cultural artifact possessing historical, organological, and social significance. The Tambur is not merely regarded as an instrument; it also serves as a symbol of identity and a space for contesting narratives between claims of Balinese heritage and the local Sasak roots. The study indicates that the Tambur has undergone a process of localisation, rendering it an inseparable part of the cultural practices of the Wetu Telu Islamic community, particularly within the context of the Perang Topat ritual. From an organological perspective, the Tambur instrument and its ensemble demonstrate the technological skills of the community in transforming natural materials such as wood, metal, skin, and bamboo into musically meaningful and functional instruments. Its rhythmic and collaborative instrumental structure reflects values of mutual cooperation, spirituality, and a connection to the environment. In a social context, the Tambur serves as a binding medium for the community and a link between generations. It functions as a cultural communication tool that preserves the continuity of tradition amidst the challenges of changing times. Therefore, the preservation of the Tambur should be understood as an effort to maintain the identity and vitality of local culture, which is increasingly threatened by global homogenisation.
