Abstract

Production planning is the process of organizing and controlling the flow of materials in and out of the production system to meet consumer needs with the right quantity and timing while keeping production costs low. Based on the analysis, the popcorn factory in Surabaya has not maximized capacity management, as evidenced by the occurrence of surplus and deficit in available capacity (CA) during certain periods. The Surabaya popcorn factory does not fully utilize capacity management because the company produces either more or fewer products than the demand. Overproduction can lead to warehouse overstocking, while underproduction prevents the company from meeting consumer needs. The purpose of this research is to analyze and evaluate the capacity of resources and production equipment using forecasting techniques with minimum MSE (Mean Squared Error) to obtain an optimal production capacity plan and make appropriate capacity planning recommendations to ensure all consumer demands are met.

Abstract

Xylose is a sugar obtained from breaking down hemicellulose. It is a polysaccharide found in the cellulose fibers of plant cell walls. One example of a plant containing hemicellulose is coffee, especially its waste called Coffee Cherry Processing Waste (CCPW). Its process's 10 L capacity production design was carried out to establish its mini factory. The financial feasibility study of each processing unit was designed. The research method used was quantitative methods. Apart from that, the approach used in this research is descriptive. The test results show that the crystalline xylose sugar processing unit is feasible to develop because the calculation results of the financial feasibility criteria are met with NPV > 0, B/C > 1, IRR 51%, PBP for two months < 5 years, which means the business owner could have returned his capital before the project period ends and BEP Q of IDR 15,565,013.54 while BEP Rp IDR 22,002479.88 was declared feasible because the BEP value was lower than the net income from xylose crystal sugar.

Abstract

The public's dependence on fuel oil (BBM) makes it a vital component in supporting the smooth production and distribution of goods and services, as well as maintaining economic stability. However, it is estimated that around 30 percent of energy subsidies have been enjoyed by groups that are not classified as poor or vulnerable. To address this issue, PT Pertamina (Persero) has implemented a new policy requiring vehicle registration through the MyPertamina app for users of subsidized fuels such as Pertalite and Solar. However, many users have expressed complaints regarding the operational aspects of the app. Therefore, this study employs a descriptive quantitative method relying on objective measurements and mathematical analysis to identify user complaints through sentiment analysis using the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) machine learning method. The data used consists of 2,000 user reviews of the MyPertamina app obtained from the Google Play Store. The analysis process was conducted using the Python programming language via the Google Colab platform. The results of the study indicate that the majority of user sentiment is negative, suggesting that the quality of MyPertamina's services is still suboptimal. Additionally, this study adopts the five dimensions of e-ServQual to identify factors influencing users' perceptions and sentiment toward the app. These findings are expected to serve as evaluation material for improving MyPertamina's operational services in the future.

Abstract

This research addresses the need to optimize shorebase logistics costs for the East Java Offshore National Oil & Gas Company amid declining production and rising operational expenses. The study aims to determine the most efficient shorebase operation method by evaluating three alternatives: maintaining the current rental warehouse in Lamongan, relocating to a company-owned warehouse in Cepu, or moving to another rental warehouse in Gresik. Using a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) approach with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), data were collected through Focus Group Discussions with supply chain experts and surveys from competent respondents. Key criteria included operation cost, mobilization cost, and handling efficiency. Results indicate that maintaining the existing Lamongan shorebase is the optimal choice, followed by relocating to the owned warehouse. The study demonstrates the applicability of AHP in integrating quantitative and qualitative factors for strategic logistics decision-making, with implications for cost efficiency and operational stability in upstream oil and gas operations.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of edible coating based on oil palm derivatives with the addition of chitosan in maintaining the quality of Pondoh Wonosobo salak fruit during storage. The edible coating is formulated from palm stearin esters (the result of a synthesis reaction) as well as chitosan, carrageenan, GMS, and Tween 80 additives. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two treatments, namely control and coating, and data analysis using descriptive statistics in the form of averages and standard deviations presented in the form of quality change graphs. Salak was coated with a selective coating and/ , stored at room temperature for 12 days, with the observed parameters including weight loss, hardness, total dissolved solids, acidity, vitamin C, and moisture content. The results showed that edible coating was effective in suppressing quality degradation, characterized by lower weight loss (24.1% vs. 48.7% control). The coating treatment also showed a tendency to maintain hardness, total dissolved solids, vitamin C, and moisture content better than controls. This innovation has the potential to extend the shelf life of salak.
