Abstract

The study was aimed to: (1) The consideration of farmers are applied GAP and Non-GAP in dragon fruit farming. (2) Determine factors which influenced dragon fruit production in GAP and Non-GAP. (3) The cost efficiency between GAP and Non-GAP dragon fruit farming. Descriptive analysis, quadratic function, and independent sample t-test are employed to determine the objective of the research. The study showed that: (1) There were some considerations in applying the GAP of dragon fruit farming such the higher selling price to collectors, the affordable manure and fungicide costs, and eco-friendly. Meanwhile, the consideration of farmers in applying Non-GAP of dragon fruit farming was the larger size of fruit, the higher excitement of the consumers, and it was easier to obtain fungicide and manure. (2) In GAP farming number of plants, organic manure and labor force were significantly influenced toward dragon fruit’s production. While cropland acreage and fungicide had no a significant effect. In the other side, dragon fruit’s production in Non-GAP farming was significantly influenced by number of plants, organic manure, and labor force. While cropland acreage, plant lifetime, anorganic manure, fungicide, and growth hormone substances had no a significant effect. (3) The independent sample t-test analysis showed the significant value (sig. 2-tailed) had 0,000 < α (0,05), it means that there were significant differences in cost efficiency between GAP and Non-GAP.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Common problems that often occur and impacted the local farmers in Desa Mojosari are the unpredictable weather condition and all-year farming without switching the variety of the plants grown. The fluctuation in productivity value also correlates with the use of many production factors and the efficiency in input usage. Another known problems are the acceptance of watermelon farming that is often less considered and that it still hasn’t reach the highest value of profit. The goal of this research is to understand the many factors that impacted watermelon farming, it’s technical efficiency, it’s allocative efficiency and it’s economical efficiency. The analysis tool used in this research is cobb douglas with Scohastic frontier analysis approach. Sampling method used in this research is proportionate stratified random sampling in which 64 farmer samples are acquired. This research resulted in (1) farming denominator of the watermelon that has definitive impacts in partial are the land area’s size variable (X1), seeds (X2) and organic fertilizer (X6) while drugs (X3), chemical fertilizer (X4) dan manpower (X5) do not leave an actual impact. (2) Watermelon farming does not reach an efficient production number as it only has a value of 69% in which can still be grown to another 31%. (3) Watermelon farming is allocatively inefficient as it only has an NPM value of (< 1) (4) Watermelon farming has an economical value efficiency of 2,84>1, meaning that the watermelon farming is not economically efficient.

The increasing achievement of production target can be done by optimizing the  labour harvest of coffee productivity. This research is aimed to analyze how far motivation, and ability correlate towards the labour harvest of coffee productivity by using Spearman Rank Correlation. The tools of research used correlational description. The sample method used propositional random sampling with 73 respondents. The result shown that motivation has positive correlation with the labour harvest of coffee productivity (Y). The variables of motivation include work performance (X1), and life-expectancy insurance (X3) has positive and significant correlation with the work productivity of coffee reapers. The variable responsibility (X2), and family members (X4) does not have a significant correlation with the  labour harvest of coffee productivity. Abstract

Carp (Osphronemus gouramy) is one kind of freshwater fish that can be farmed in the pond. This research was conducted to: (a) evaluate the quality of carp farming technique of segmentations of seeding, nursery, and growing based on SNI: 01-6485.3-2000 (standard production of carp seeding and nursery) and SNI: 01-7241-2006 (standard production of carp growing segment in the pond), (b) analyze the cost efficiency of carp farming in each segmentation, (c) formulate development strategies of carp cultivation techniques in each segment. Research area was determined by purposive method. The research applied descriptive method, and sampling was conducted by snowball sampling of 16 respondents. Data were analyzed by calculating the percentage of the conduct of cultivation technique quality, R/C ratio, and Force Field Analysis (FFA). The results of evaluation of the quality of cultivation techniques showed that the percentage of production quality conduct level of carp production for the segmentation of growing at pre-production stage was 53.67%, at production stage was 60.00%, and at harvesting stage was 70.00%. Meanwhile, at seeding segment, the percentage of production quality was 67.20%, at production stage was 63.70%, and at harvesting stage was 68.70%. R/C ratio in growing segment was 1.39 and in seeding segment was 1.48, which means that both of the segments of carp farming were feasible to manage. Based on FFA analysis, the strategies that need to be done are conducting human resource empowerment (farmers) by appropriate technology innovations, institutional strengthening of farmer groups, conserving natural resources, and improving cooperation between farmers with local marine and fisheries department. Keywords: Strategy, carp (Osphronemus gouramy), quality, Force Field Analysis (FFA)

Abstract

Agribusiness of NOTA and NO Traditional Tobacco has competitiveness (comparative and competitive advantage). Moreover, they are susceptible to changes in input and output prices which are indicated by the DRC and PCR coefficient close to 1. The NOTA tobacco is comparatively stronger than the traditional NO tobacco. This illustration has explained that the alternative cultivation technology of NOTA tobacco is better than the traditional NO. Input prices policy by government to NOTA and NO tobacco Traditional agribusiness provided for the development of agroindustry which has NPCI coefficient lower than one (1). It means that the government's policies provide protection for production inputs. However, the policy is not balanced by a protective policy in output, so that the protective policy has not been very significant input for NOTA and NO Traditional tobacco producers. Overall, government policy is to develop Besuki Na-oogst tobacco both the NOTA and NO Traditional. It is not significant to farmers. It can be explained by the Effective Protection coefficient (EPC) and the Profitability Coefficient (PC) which is lower than one (<1), as well as negative Subsidy Ratio to Producers (SRP). Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are an alternative educational institution for people in East Java Tapal Kuda areas. Therefore, Islamic boarding schools have a very large contribution in the development of human resources. This  study aims at finding out the potential culture and entrepreneurship and the factors that can affect the unemployed graduates of the Salaf Islamic Boarding School. The qualitative approach method is used to achieve the research objectives. The data were obtained through participant observation and interviews with recording techniques and notes. As supporting data, quantitative data were also explored through questionnaires. The data obtained through interviews were then interpreted qualitatively, while quantitative data were in percentage in the form of tables and the results were then described. This study result found out that entrepreneurial behavior of graduates of the Salaf Islamic Boarding Schools can be categorized as very low. Some factors causing the high-unemployed graduates of Salaf Islamic Boarding Schools are factor of culture focusing only on religious books, factor of student’s very low education, factor of Islamic boarding schools curriculum that is not oriented on entrepreneurship, factor of parents' low education, and factor of parent’s economy. Among these factors, Salaf Islamic Boarding School curriculum factor is the most dominant because of no curriculum that can provide entrepreneurial skills to students (santri). Through changes in entrepreneurial oriented curriculum it is expected to reduce the unemployed graduates of Islamic boarding schools.
