Abstract

Postpartum depression is a common mental health disorder that often goes untreated, particularly due to limited access to conventional psychological services. Along with the development of technology, digital-based psychological support offers an alternative intervention that is more affordable and flexible. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital-based psychological support in reducing depression levels and improving the psychological well-being of postpartum mothers. The study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups (experimental and control), involving 60 purposively selected participants. The intervention was delivered for eight weeks through a digital platform that integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness modules. Depression levels were measured using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), as well as additional indicators such as anxiety, stress, and the quality of the mother-child relationship. The results of paired t-test and independent t-test analyses showed a significant reduction in EPDS scores and improvement in psychological well-being indicators in the experimental group (p < 0.001), with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 2.37). ANCOVA analysis confirmed the effectiveness of the intervention after controlling for covariate variables. The qualitative component through semi-structured interviews revealed that ease of access, time flexibility, and emotional support were contributing factors to participants' engagement. These findings indicate that digital interventions can be an effective and applicable approach to managing postpartum depression, and should be integrated into the broader maternal health care system

Abstract

The development of the health sector, as part of national development, is directed toward improving the quality of human resources. One of the indicators of successful health development is the reduction of infant mortality rates and the improvement of community nutritional status. Optimal nutritional status can only be achieved when good nutritional practices are implemented at every stage of life, including during infancy . Failures in breastfeeding often stem from a lack of information. The study by Ambarwati, Setiyani, and Usnawati (2017) indicates that breastfeeding discussion classes can improve breastfeeding practices among breastfeeding mothers (Ambarwati, Setiyani, and Usnawati, 2017). Parents’ Education has also been shown to be effective in improving the knowledge and attitudes of primigravida couples regarding exclusive breastfeeding. Efforts to enhance knowledge and attitudes toward exclusive breastfeeding must be continuously strengthened and followed by an evaluation of exclusive breastfeeding practices (Usnawati, 2017). Based on these findings, it is necessary to establish a Breastfeeding Support Group (KP-ASI) and implement breastfeeding assistance programs. The establishment of KP-ASI and the breastfeeding assistance program will be carried out through the following strategies: Phase 1: Issuance of an official request letter from Sumberdodol Village for the formation of a breastfeeding support group. Educational materials will be provided to third-trimester pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Phase 2: Delivery of educational materials to Posyandu cadres, third-trimester pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. The training session will be conducted once. The education session in the village is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Phase 3: Developing a meeting plan and activity schedule for the members and committee of the Breastfeeding Support Group (KP-ASI) for the following month.

Abstract

The increasing incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) has become more significant among the productive age group. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that more than one million people are diagnosed with STIs every day, making early detection a crucial step. Preventive efforts include improving knowledge and promoting early detection of STI symptoms; however, many individuals still face difficulties in accessing information related to symptoms, prevention, and treatment. Feelings of shame and the perception that seeking care at health facilities is taboo often result in STI cases being identified at a more advanced stage. Evaluation of health promotion media shows that more than 50% are no longer relevant in the digital era. This study aims to help the public better understand information related to STIs. To develop an Android-based mobile application for the early detection of sexually transmitted infections. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the 4D model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The first year involved evaluating existing health promotion media and identifying strategic issues through focus group discussions (FGDs), followed by application design, expert appraisal, and trials involving 30 respondents. The evaluation revealed that most existing health promotion media were no longer relevant in terms of content, format, and timeliness. The “SIMANIS” mobile application was developed with six main menus: definition, types, symptoms, impacts, transmission, prevention, and self-detection, plus a knowledge questionnaire on STIs. Content validity testing (CVI) by three experts confirmed the application’s validity, while the reliability test yielded a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.728. The “SIMANIS” mobile application is valid, reliable, and can be used by adolescents as well as healthcare institutions. The dissemination phase is planned for 2026

Abstract

Introduction: Cervical cancer remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality among women in Indonesia, largely due to low awareness and limited participation in Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screening. Health promotion media are essential to improving knowledge, shaping positive attitudes, and increasing willingness to participate in early detection efforts. This systematic literature review evaluates the effectiveness of various health promotion media in increasing knowledge and VIA screening participation among women of reproductive age (WRA). Methods: This review followed the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Literature searches were conducted exclusively through Google Scholar for studies published between 2021 and 2025. Thirteen eligible studies were analyzed using the PICO framework, focusing on population characteristics, intervention types, comparison strategies, and measured outcomes. Most studies used quasi-experimental pre-post designs. This review has limitations, including reliance on a single database, restriction to Indonesian studies, and predominance of quasi-experimental designs without control groups. These limitations may introduce selection bias and reduce generalizability. Results: Overall findings show significant improvements (p<0.05) in knowledge, attitudes, and VIA participation following health promotion interventions. Audiovisual media, mobile-based applications and live demonstrations produced the strongest effects by enhancing multisensory learning and reducing psychological barriers such as fear or embarrassment. Printed media, including booklets, modules and leaflets remained effective as complementary tools, especially in areas with limited digital access. Intervention success was also supported by family involvement, cultural appropriateness, and active engagement of health workers. Conclusion: In conclusion, multimodal and community-centered health promotion strategies are effective in increasing WRA knowledge and participation in VIA screening. Future research should employ stronger methodological design, expand database coverage, and incorporate cross-national comparisons to enhance the evidence base for cervical cancer screening programs.

Abstract

Premature infants are at high risk of experiencing physiological instability due to organ immaturity, especially in the regulation of body temperature, respiration, and the cardiovascular system. One of the main interventions in the care of premature infants is the use of an incubator. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of incubator use on the physiological stability of premature infants. The research method used was a quantitative study with an analytical observational design. The subjects were premature infants treated in the perinatology ward. The physiological parameters observed included body temperature, respiratory rate, and heart rate. The results showed that the use of an incubator significantly helped maintain the physiological stability of premature infants. Thus, an incubator is an effective and essential tool in the care of premature infants to improve physiological stability and prevent further complications.
