Abstract

The curriculum 2013 requires students to be more active and independent in learning so that teachers must facilitate teaching materials that are able to make students learn independently. Along with the development of technology, teachers are required to provide innovation in teaching materials. In this situation, the current pandemic conditions require online learning. The results of observations at SMP Negeri 7 Padang show that the teaching materials used have not been able to help the learning process. Based on these problems, electronic teaching materials are a solution to support the learning process, one of which is an electronic module (e-module). This study aims to produce an integrated science e-module with an ethnoscience approach to valid and practical. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation, but thisresearch is limited until development stage. The research subjects were 3 lecturers of Science Education, FMIPA UNP, teachers and students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The instruments used in this research were validity and practicality questionnaires. The results of the validity test obtained an average kappa moment value (k) of 0.87 with a very high validity category. The results of the practicality test on the teacher obtained an average kappa moment value (k) of 0.88 with a very high validity category and the results of the practicality test on the students obtained an average kappa moment value (k) of 0.86 with a very high validity category. Based on these results, it is concluded that the e-module with an ethnoscience approach on additives and addictive substances is valid and practical.

Abstract

Pohon waru adalah jenis tumbuhan yang hidup di ekosistem pantai dan merupakan tumbuhan asli dari daerah Tropika Pasifik Barat, pohon ini banyak mengandung manfaat mulai dari akar, batang dan daunnya. Telah dilakukan peninjauan observasi terhadap budaya yang telah berkembang di kehidupan masyarakat mengenai bagaimana pemanfaatan dari pohon waru. Hasil wawancara dengan narasumber yang merupakan tokoh masyarakat atau orang tua diPantai Gajah Kelurahan Air Tawar Barat tentang Pemanfaatan Pohon Waru. Oleh masyarakat Pantai Gajah Kelurahan Air Tawar Barat ternyata pohon Waru bermanfaat karena dapat digunakan sebagai pelindung atap rumah untuk melindungi dari angin kencang, badai dan mencegah terjadinya abrasi oleh air laut karena ditahan oleh akar dari pohon Waru. Selain itu daun pohon Waru digunakan sebagai pembungkus Kue Bika atau yang sering dikenal oleh masyarakat kue Singgang. Menurut masyarakat dengan penggunaan daun pohon Waru sebagai pembungkus kue Bika dapat menimbulkan bau harum dan tidak perlu menggunakan pengharum buatan. Akar dari pohon Waru dapat digunakan sebagai pendingin untuk menangani demam.

Abstract

Sumber daya alam yang begitu dekat dengan manusia adalah air, khususnya air sungai. Peningkatan beban pencemaran terhadap air sungai yang terus menerus akan menjadi penyebab utama menurunnya kualitas air sungai saat ini. Gangguan fisik, kimia dan biologi akan menimpa masyarakat bila mengkonsumsi air sungai yang sudah tercemar oleh limbah industri dan pemukiman baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung dan perlu adanya upaya-upaya pengendalian pencemaran lingkungan. Logam berat, seperti merkuri (Hg), timbal (Pb), arsenik (As), kadmium (Cd), kromium (Cr), seng (Zn), dan nikel (Ni), merupakan salah satu bentuk materi anorganik yang sering menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan yang cukup serius pada perairan khususnya limbah timbal (Pb) yang masuk ke perairan yang dimanfaatkan untuk aktivitas pertanian. Kiambang juga mempunyai kemampuan hidup yang luar biasa karena dapat tumbuh hidup baik pada media air manapun walaupun media tersebut memiliki sedikit nutrient untuk pertumbuhannya. Keistimewaan ini menyebabkan kiambang dijadikan sebagai filter biologis yang dapat menyerap logam berat

Abstract

Rumah Gadang is a traditional Minangkabau house. The design of Rumah Gadang was made by Minangkabau’s ancestors using the Indigenous Sciences of that era. The intend of this study was to reconstruct the Indigenous Sciences of Rumah Gadang into scientific knowledges that has been widely known today. The expected benefit of this study was to classify the scientific knowledges of Rumah Gadang so as to increas the wealth of Indonesia Ethnoscience. The method of this study was qualitatif descriptive. The study was conducted in Istano Baso Pagaruyuang Batusangkar, West Sumatra. The data were collected through direct observations and document study about Rumah Gadang, in-dept interviews, and also scientific literature about Rumah Gadang. The data were analyzed using the ethnoscience approach. The conclusion was that there were the content of scientific knowledges in the Rumah Gadang which were categorized into 4 fields of science, they were: The Pythagorean Theorem, Substance Pressure, Seismology, and Substance Properties.

Abstract

Knowing the effect of using Etno-STEM integrated science e-module learning media with Movement and Style material on students' cognitive learning outcomes is the aim of this research. The research is a quantitative type of experimental research with a Quasi Experimental method carried out with Nonequivalent Control Group Design as the research design. Taking research sample classes involves nonprobability sampling techniques with purposive sampling techniques. The variable that has an influence is in the form of an Etno-STEM integrated science e-module on Movement and Style material with student learning outcomes as the influenced variable. Data analysis uses the t test which must previously meet the prerequisite tests in the form of validity and homogeneity which is then determined from the n-gain test. The experimental class average was 71.20 and the n-gain was 0.43, while the control class average was 62.53 and the n-gain was 0.33. The results of the hypothesis test obtained a value of tcount > ttable, namely with a value of 3.37 > 2.00, resulting in H0 being rejected and H1 being accepted. So the conclusion from this data is that there is an influence of the use of Etno-STEM integrated science e-modules on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Low students learning outcomes are often attributed to conventional teacher-centered instructional methods, which render students passive and hinder their ability to comprehend and apply scientific concepts effectively. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the Interactive Conceptual Instruction (ICI) learning model on the academic performance of seventh-grade students at SMPN 34 Padang, specifically in the topic of substance classification and changes. This research employed a quasi-experimental design using a posttest-only control group approach. The sample consists of two classes, an experimental group that received instruction using the ICI model and a control group that followed conventional methods. Data were analyzed statistically using Microsoft Excel. The results indicate that the average posttest score of the experimental group (77) was higher than that of the control group (65). A t-test analysis yielded a tcount of 5.303, which exceeds the critical ttable of 1.998, indicating a statistically significant difference between the two groups. The implementation of the ICI model was rated positively, with an effectiveness score of 98%, and 94% of students responded favorably to the learning model. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that the application of the ICI model has a significant positive impact on students' learning outcomes in the topic of substance classification and changes.
