Abstract

Dengue Fever is a really infectious disease. This disease may cause death. The lack of health facilities in several regions can increase the number of cases and death. Thus, a proper prevention is needed so the number of cases can be decreased and the spread of the fever can be prevented especially in remote area like the coast area of North Sumatera. Because of this, a system that can predict the number of cases based on several parameters is needed to prevent the spread of fever in several areas, using Random Forest dan Support Vector Machine method. Both methods have different forecast results but the number is close to the actual number of cases. Random Forest can predict more accurate with MSE value at 43.

Abstract

Dental caries is a condition that can be experienced by anyone and can appear on one or more tooth surfaces. If left untreated, caries can develop deeper, from the enamel to the dentin, and reach the pulp. This disease is one of the most common dental health problems in children and is a major cause of tooth loss at an early age. The high incidence of dental caries in children is influenced by various factors, including bad habits in maintaining dental hygiene and unhealthy eating patterns. The importance of maintaining dental and oral health must be introduced from an early age so that children understand how to maintain dental hygiene properly. Educational activities regarding dental and oral health maintenance aim to increase awareness and knowledge of preschool children, such as those carried out in the program at Istiqbal Ngagel Rejo Kindergarten. The activity method used was counseling (lectures, questions and answers, and demonstrations of brushing teeth) using phantom teeth, toothbrushes, and flip charts. The results of the activity were an increase in the knowledge of preschool children at Istiqbal Kindergarten from the less to sufficient category. However, it did not reach the planned target, namely that the majority received the good category.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms and characteristics of makeup, clothing, and accessories for modified brides from Koto Gadang, West Sumatra. The background of the research is based on the phenomenon of changes in traditional bridal makeup into modifications that combine cultural elements with modern trends, thus generating both pros and cons among the community. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants include bundo kanduang, makeup artists, and bridal clothing rental business owners in Nagari Koto Gadang. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display, decision making, and verification. The research results show that the modified bridal makeup of Koto Gadang has undergone a transformation from a bold style with bright colors to soft, natural, and flawless makeup using modern techniques such as cut crease, ombre lips, and fiber eyebrow shaping. The modified attire still retains traditional elements such as tilakuang, kodek, and salendang, but is presented in soft colors, with the addition of sequins and the use of kebaya. The modified bridal accessories still follow the typical Koto Gadang form but are used more selectively and many are made from lighter and more affordable alternative materials. The study concludes that the modification of bridal makeup in Koto Gadang is a form of adaptation to the times that still preserves cultural identity, although it potentially reduces the symbolic meaning of traditional forms.
